There was a poll on a telegram group I'm in abt what we were looking forward to the most in this week's episode. My answer was Hermes. He wasn't in the first book, but his appearances throughout the story are always so important and interesting that I was wondering what we'd get so early on, and I'm not disappointed.
Personally I liked this episode how it explained how the lotus flower works now as opposed to the legend. Also like how they used Hermes cab to get to Santa Monica because in my mind it makes more sense then a random taxi driver speeding down the highway with a fugitive in the backseat. Also liked that they added the scene with the water spirit and how we know that technically Percy is already too late. I agree that perhaps this was the weakest episode but definitely still a solid episode.
I wonder what the secret entrance is gonna be??? In the book they just went in through the Underworld's main entrance with a lame excuse for Charon and a bribe. There WAS a secret entrance in the books, the Door of Orpheus, but that was in Central Park in Manhattan. Percy and Nico di Angelo (who can be heard calling for his sister Bianca about 12 and a half minutes into the episode while Grover and Augustus are talking about Pan) used it in The Last Olympian and Nico and his boyfriend Will Solace used it in The Sun and the Star. There's never been any mention of another one anywhere, just the main entrance in LA.
@@WarGrowlmon18 that’s crazy that you heard that I was looking for them but didn’t see anything. There’s entrances in the maze too just didn’t find or use them. But Rick said he’s correcting errors from the book as well
Some people have been saying that, like Grover's actor said in an interview, you can hear important names being thrown around in the background while in the Casino. Like when Grover is talking to Augustus, and when Percy and Annabeth find grover, if you listen closely you can hear a little voice yell "BIANCA!" Some people say they hear another voice yell "Nico!" But personally, I can only hear 'Bianca.'
The episodes are so short I think it hurts the show a lot, maybe it’s expensive but this is Disney you know they could do so much more. By the time they get to the casino the episodes already halfway over
Three words: child labor laws. That's a big reason why the movies aged up the principal actors. Three literal children are in every scene, and they're restricted on how many hours they can work each day. On top of that, they're often in dangerous scenes. Scobell literally shot that final scene underwater - it's not a green screen. As the actors age, their working days will lengthen, and they'll be able to shoot more footage.
In the books, those dreams took place on the edge of Tartarus instead and Kronos was just a voice speaking to the thief from the Pit rather than a guy in an office.
NICO IS HERE!!!!! (Edit: If you look at 12:30, in the show you can hear a kid yelling “Bianca!” And at 12:44 you can see a dark-haired kid with a jacket)
Episodes 5 and 6 gave us some good stuff! Percy stared at Annabeth in awe for her smart thinking, got a Seaweeb Brain last episode, and now we got a Seaweed Brain AND Wise Girl the next, heard Nico yell for Bianca, which hurt a lot, Percy and Annabeth being called "an old married couple"! The post credit scene where Annabeth hangs off reminds you of a certain scene in the book! We are getting there! They already have the future seasons in the bag!❤
I am very dissapointed with this episode, in the books the casino seemed to be this dreamlike place where you literally forget everything around you. In the show however the Casino looked pretty bland and honestly boring. They also don't even really do anything but walking around and them knowing about the flowers beforehand takes away the tension and the moment of realisation when they realise what's going on around them. I had very high hopes for this episode, because the casino was my favourite part of the first book but in my Opinion they didn't succeed in conveying the feeling I had in the books on the screen. Even the movies did a way better job at this in my opinion.
