- When Tommy Emmanuel and Chet Atkins wrote and arranged an album together, they would trade tapes from America to Australia. Some songs got finished, and some did not. Chet wrote a melody and sent it to Tommy. A year after Chet's passing, Tommy finished the song in his honor. This song appears on Tommy's album, 'Endless Road'.

Hes being modest. It wasnt over 2 hours.
And it almost brought me to tears. It's so perfectly Chet, and so perfectly you, all at once.
I've idolized Chet since the 60s, and he fired my need to learn fingerpicking. I spent months trying to master "Windy And Warm" in 62 / 63, and when I finally did, I understood. I suddenly knew how to fingerpick a guitar, and I've thanked him for that ever since.
And this little tune, in its simplicity, brings it all back. I love it! Thanks, Tommy!

I've played guitar off and on since 1968 and Tommy is one of the cleanest and most harmonic sounds I've ever heard and he's not doing it in a studio. Wonderful!

I just love the look he gives at the end of the video. You see how hard he's thinking about Chet and the emotions he's holding on. The way he pays homage to him on this song is absolutely awesome. As I watch your face as you played this tune, I too shared the range of emotion and feelings in which you must of felt while playing it. I miss his music but in my consolation we have you and that is so special to those of us that do not have this gift. God Bless you Tommy Emmanuel!

Thanks for sharing your talents with the world. What a great friend you were to Chet as well in the way you honor and revere him to this day.. I remember the first time I saw Chet on TV, it may have been on Hee Haw or the Grand Ole Opry. I thought "wow, can that guy play and he makes it look so easy"!! Thanks for keeping his memory alive.
