This video is the first in a series, that documents our trip through India that took place in February 2023. The people involved in the trip were my son in law; William Blanton; my daughter; Michelle Blanton, myself, a friend who resides in West Bengal; Abhik Sur, and our professional driver, and also a good friend; Jile Choudhary. We made new friends along the way, and they will be mentioned in upcoming videos.
These video clips were not originally filmed, with the intention of creating a cohesive RUclips video. Rather, they were just my attempt to capture the moments for my own perusal, later on. So it was a difficult task to format, both the videos, photos, and the audio. I ask that you kindly overlook the audio issues that occur early on, in the video.
Edit: the red sandstone column building; at the Red Fort; is the Diwan-i- Aam or Hall of Public Audience, not the Diwan-i- Khas. The Diwan-i- Khas is the beautifully decorated marble hall.

Thank you for this video. I've particularly loved the 15 first minutes : I've never visited Delhi, but I've spent weeks to Bangalore (much more in the south), and worked with some Indian guys. And it reminds me so much things. The first time when I came out from the airport door , one breathing and I said : "wooowww". Yes pollution can have a smell 😄. The life is so different compared to US or France. I've also enjoyed your visits, and I'm waiting your part 2 and the Taj Mahal marble ❤

Oh my goodness, that traffic 😮
I would be a nervous wreck. Still, it looks like a nice country. I hope you had a great stay.

Yes, the traffic is nerve wracking; not so much that there is a lot of traffic but the fact that people just drive in all directions. There is no regard for following a designated lane. There were times when we were in a tuk tuk; or auto rickshaw; that I could have touched the cars beside me. You definitely need to keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle, at all times.

@@teresaharris-travelbybooks5564 it looked wild. Then during all that busyness, I saw a random man walking among the traffic looking down at his phone, without a care in the world. 😮 😆

The Qutub Minar was built by destroying 27 Jain and Hindu Temples which existed there by the Uzbek Turk invaders . The rubble of the destroyed temples was used in the construction of the Qutab Minar . A mosque was also built in the vicinity to proclaim the victory of Islam over the infidels and the mosque was named Quwwat ul Islam (Power of Islam). The story narrated to you was concocted by Marxist historians who have controlled the educational and history narrative in India till recently.

@@sameermadan7632 I think I did mention that the Qutub Minar was built on the site of a former fortified city, so yes, you are probably right. My video is only depicting my family's trip and is not meant to be a comprehensive historical documentary. I had to rely on Google and Wikipedia for some of the historical data.
