1 part Clorox 2 parts water in a spray bottle (mist would be best but it worked with a stream like I had). Multiple apps needed but it works quickly on a much darker stain than the one in this video.
Thank you so much! I have several places like this I need to do on my ceiling due to roof leaks. Grrrr...Thought I was going to have to call a painter.
I used upshot and found that it generated a lot of paint ‘dust’ all over my walls and floor. I applied it to a stain on the ceiling in the middle of a large room, covered the floor below the stain with drop cloths covering about 12’x12’ and I had paint dust on the floors and walls about 20’ away from the area I was repainting.
I've been waiting to see that inner corner after spray. I assume there is enough overspray, because of the gap in masking tape. I assume, that's the reason, why author doesn't show it. I would recommend to use blue tape on the edge to prevent overspray. Good luck.
do you think this paint will cover salsa on my ceiling? I have a huge area with golf ball to pinhead size splotches of salsa all over my ceiling. I was going to try spraying it with bleach and figured it that doesn't work i can paint over it, but hadn't even considered spray paint. Do you think it would cover the red of the salsa? Just a huge mess.
@@pharslider well i stupidly stored a big costco bottle of pace salsa upside down in my fridge to try to keep it from going mouldy before i used it up. so when i took it out and turned it rightside up, w/in a few seconds, the pressure that had built up blew the lid off, (just missed my eye/face), and across the room and sprayed salsa all over the inside of my fridge/ceiling/4 walls. it went everywhere. im lucky i guess the lid didn't hit me and blow the top of my head off.
Thanks for the video! Would this work with a ceiling stain with candels ? I used glade candles on my bathroom and it looks like it stain due to the burn.... Any advice?
The stain has not come back and won't if you fix the problem on why the stain was created. For example a leaky roof, leaking AC unit, etc. If you don'tt the stain comes back. In my case my AC unit is in my attic and the drip pan under it had a clogged drain so it overflowed to the ceiling.
Hey there. So I have two water spots on my ceiling from a roof leak. I reported the roof leak but the stains are a very dark yellow. Most stains I see are darker around the edges but these two are pretty uniform in color through and through. Do you think this product will work well for these kind of stains?
Hey. Yes it will work. Kills is a really good product for coverage. If you are unsure ask the paint specialist when you go to purchase and see what they say. Good luck!
A lot of recommendations for multiple light applications of misted bleach water. Leak needs to be fixed first. Just replaced my roof and now i have a new leak. 😢
I have not personally had this problem but I read where people are saying it happens in really old drywall or in some cases it is how it looks before being completely dry. If the drywall is really old they suggested using a primer coat to fix the problem. If the house is a smokers house they said this can be common but in either case more costs of paint was the fix. This guy has a similar problem and fixes it. Not my video but I hope it helps you. Read the comments on the video. ruclips.net/video/QuO8KRGCqAM/видео.html
@@HowToWithJames so I think you might be right about the smoke. It’s the odd one here in there in the room. And the popcorn ceiling is only 11 years old. Do you think if I add a few more coats of the kilz upshot. It Shouid help?
I meant to say more coats of paint would be the fix about but the spell checker put costs. Just be careful and let each coat dry before the next or the popcorn will fall. .
It's not always going to be perfect. To get a perfect match you will need to take a sample match to Home Depot, Lowe's hardware or a paint store and ask them to match it. After you do that you will have to use a sprayer to get it on the ceiling. Using these spray cans will get you close unless your builder used something non standard.
oh wow. that's amazing. I've been stressing over how to do the exact same thing for my place.
Home Depot has it for $9 Amazon $29 same 10 oz can. You are a life saver sir, thanks so much.
Yes indeed !!!!!!

Thanks soo much for your tutorial. It was extremely helpful
Did you use off white or white spray paint... I used white .. the stain is gone but you can see the back and forth streaks🤔
Quick question: how did you get the paint in the spray can to match perfectly the paint on your ceiling.
If you get kills or ceiling paint it normally matches. These products are made for this and normally match or get so close you cannot tell.
I do not have popcorn ceiling. Will this look decent on a regular flat ceiling?
No issues with overspray on the floors or walls?
No. That is why I used newspaper to prevent that. If you are concerned just cover up more area before painting. Good luck!
@@HowToWithJames it doesn't get on floor? You don't have to cover floors?
It should not get on the floor but if you are concerned please cover it.

Great video! Good work! What's the difference between Kilz and Kilz Upshot?
You're welcome. Upshot is made to shoot up from the can and the other is made to shoot from the front. Same paint just different can.
How long did it take the fumes smell to go away?

If there is a small leak, would this seal it if sprayed inside?

It should cover it but you may have to use several coats.
How to did you get salsa on the ceiling tho?

I didn't even know that could happen! Wow! Sorry to hear that but it's good you are still here to tell the story.
Is it oil based or water based
What i used is oil based.
Thank you 😊

Hello, your welcome. Yes it should cover a burn mark on the ceiling as well.
did the stain still went back after a couple of days/weeks?

I wish I watched this before I primed and painted. My situation is noticeably showing. Should I give it another coat of paint?
Another coat could not hurt. Go for it.
@@HowToWithJames thanks man!
Same happened with me, spray colour did not blend with ceiling colour
Thank u, awesome job!
Thanks!
Thanks
So I tried this on my bathroom popcorn ceiling. Snd it ended up Turning more yellow. Any ideas?

Always fix the leaking problem before you cover the damage from the leak.
Lol I was thinking the same thing.
That is another video. One thing at a time. That was fixed before this video was done.
Why just assume the op was an idiot tho? Damn
