    Great Video Paw Paw! I had been playing around with my RA2 but was plugging it in to the other connector on the main board, not using the adapter to the Y axis cable. It worked, but I believe I had to also "enable rotary" which then caused other issues when I went back to flat work. Thanks!
    Edit: oops spoke too soon. The 2nd video shows plugging it in to the board and using the rotary setup. I needed that step on my first test. Thanks again.

    At 18:50 you show the modified RA2 base reversed and raised up on a board... and a 2.5 lb weight that counteracts the cantilever effect of an object in the RA2 chuck jaws. Pretty cool stuff. If I used a riser base under the P2 to gain more room under it and situate the RA2 like this, could I securely mount a 8" diameter wood bowl sideways (with the jaws grabbing a 2.5" wide tenon on the bowl bottom)? I'm a wood worker and make bowls on my wood lathe from different pieces of wood. I want use the P2 to engrave a 1" wide band around the entire outside wall of the bowl with different patterns within the banding. The RA2 base would be reversed and raised up at least 2-3 inches to accommodate the wide 8" bowl diameter. The RA2 base would be bolted down to a moveable plywood base. Would the Creative Space program settings on the P2 allow for a 8" wide bowl to be engraved sideways like this? Thank you.

    The set up is wrong for the wires in this video : you don’t remove that wire that you did you insert the rotary wire into the mother board that’s under the power button. It took me 3 days to figure it out

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  2 года назад +1

      You can do it either way as I have shown in more than one video. If you connect to the motherboard you will use the z axis for the setup. If you connect to the wire that goes to the stepper motor on the y axis the setup for the rotary will indeed be the y axis. What if you are using another brand machine, do you think they have a connection on the motherboard? NO. You have to use the y axis. So there are two way to accomplish the same results neither is wrong. Just a different way shown in the videos.

      No, this is not going to cut through glass. You can etch the glass

      Thank you. Have a project with wine bottles that I need to cut the bottoms off of. I have tried with one of those bottle kits but it’s really hit or miss. Have any ideas? Thank you

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  2 года назад +1

      Cutting glass is a skill that is developed over time. Cutting bottles is even more of a challenge. The key is to score the glass one time. Many times people score the glass multiple times and that just does not work. After you cut the glass you will need to polish the cut edge. If this is not done you may get cut.

      Thank you. I enjoy your videos. Sorry about the user name. My 10 year son has taken over my you tube account. Lol. I’ll probably be picking your brain from time to time if that’s ok. Been kind of switching gears in my later years. Been a wood fab guy for thirty years but the computer part I’m shifting to is giving me a hard time. Thanks again.

    On the one I just bought, the support that slides up the channels on the base does not fit properly. Only one side of it fits that channel. The other side does not even enter it much less slide up it. Any clues on why this is and how to fix it?

    COMPLETE setup is not correct is it. You literally faded between the step of attaching the rear belt mechanism to the motor so you can run attach the belt from the chuck to the motor. I think you skipped this step because it is difficult and tedious and you sometimes drop the tiny little set screws either down the hole you use to access them since you cannot insert that part with the set screws already attached and it is fiddly difficult work. I suspect you did this because you are paid by xtool to make it look easier than it is since you went over literally every other feature apart from the most tedious and difficult one. You skipped a very IMPORTANT step

    • @PawPawsWorkShop
      @PawPawsWorkShop  Год назад

      If I missed a step that you feel important,it was not intentional. I pride my self on having the most complete tutorials on the RUclips. If I skipped something then I felt it not important or so simple that everyone would understand the process. Explain to me what you feel I skipped and I’ll make another video just for you to explain a very simple item.

      How he says to attach the cable is also wrong. You don't need the adapter. You unplug the connection on the board. Ra2 cable plugs right in.

    Question. I noticed you did not put in a 16 oz taper glass and try and level it. Why does a taper glass not rotate true. When you try and level it it stops sitting in the jaws correctly and wobbles all around. This item does not work well in on this type of glass and everyone avoids this situation. I find this super expensive tool simply over hyped and not worth the money.
