Good tutorial. How can I include wildcards to be able to work on a whole list of files that need to be clipped?

what if my study area keeps changing... i have to clip parcels from the study area and the area keeps changing. do i have to draw the study area and extract the shp file for it everytime i do this? but then again the whole point of doing model builder seems pointless if i do that
