I never liked Floyd that much but i never bet against him ..lol .. He is the BEST ...he fought the best out there ...Man hope he comes back
I love Floyd, he got old and I think he relied on footwork and that right hand lead and check hooks as he got old around 2012-2015. But man he was soooo good; to me he peaked at 2007 right before De la hoya because he was so young, hungry, and looking for the payday. Remember his offense before he went to WW? Go watch his fights. He called out everyone too; Mosley when Mosley was prime, Naseem Hamed, Kosta Tszyu, he always said he'd beat Oscar when he first met Nate in teh '96 olympics.
Even at 16-17 rumors flew that he showed Pernell a thing or two in sparring. And he was the first to beat a Cuban in the olympics for like 10 years in Amateur boxing.
Maidana was the last time he got to show his offense because Maidana was a pressure fighter that left himself open. But pressure styles are bad news to counterpunchers so Floyd had to dig deep.
He beat some still big names 2007-2015, but we all knew he didn't take the most dangerous fights - he made it to the headlines already. He still beat champions, though so can't take that away from him. He took on Canelo, though; we all say IN HINDSIGHT that Canelo was too green and all that, but back in 2012 none of us thought he would actually do it. That was the last time I remember he took a big fight that was dangerous. Pacquiao too, but I say he was legit concerned because stylistically that's a terrible fighter for Floyd to fight and maintain an undefeated career to sell.
pac was legit a danger. As much as i got stoked for Floyd's win, Pac really was a danger. Guy was an awkward, awkward southpaw (watch Floyd vs Guerrero, floyd even calls it a D+ performance), awkward head movement, fast footwork, and voluminous and powerful punching. I'm not saying Pac would've knocked him out, but he could've won by points in 2010 because of this awkward style to take away that undefeated record Floyd uses to promote his fights. That's why we saw the fight we did, Floyd had an amazingly hard time landing his lead right and had to run around to take the win. It's boxing to win on points, but it wasn't a fight we can be proud of (btw, I'm not a huge fan of Pac's style; it's entertaining, but floyd's the king of smart boxing to me).
I wish we could get one more good fight from Floyd, but truth is he's done. He didn't even look good against Berto, granted Berto did prepare actually pretty will with virgil hunter.
Every interview with Floyd is the same exact thing. He literally says all the same shit. "I've dominated the sport for 20 years" "thanks to al haymon" "I'm a legendary champion" ya we get it floyd

between mayweather & mcgregor, just because you like one doesn't mean you have to hate the other. there is room for both of these guys to be successful. my question is: why do you really hate one of these guys when you don't even know them? i hope mcgregor goes on to become successful and an inspiration to young people of all races just as floyd did. a lot of people talk shit about floyd but u watch these interviews and you realize he's not a terrible guy. sure he's done shit and said stupid things in the past but he's only human. the media tries to paint such a terrible image of the dude but i don't think he's all that bad when you see his actual personality. that's why real interviews like this are good, whether it's floyd or any other celebrity, you get to see what their personality is actually like.

Floyd is right "smart and boring" however I've seen footage of him sparring and he got hit alot. I've never been a big fan of Floyd for a few reasons but he was great. Work ethic, Defense and mentally perhaps the best ever. I will give him that.
