Love this damn engine. They don’t make that stuff anymore.
without a star, there is no driving
Yes I have to agree ! For Mercedes-benz with bonnet I consider it mandatory to see the upright standing star from inside the car instead of hiding it below !!
My new one doesn't have any stars inside or out but my old one did and I do miss seeing it at the end of the bonnet
@@c4r5on88 that's a good reason to me why I don't like the newer ones. Nowadays they tend to keep the upright star for S-Class & Maybach class models while most the lower down models they expect people to make do with the star hiding below the bonnet line ?!
I have to disagree with that marketing approach because so long as it's a Mercedes-Benz bonneted model vehicle (even for full EV like EQS etc.) I DO rightfully expect the upright star...no compromises as far as I'm concerned...or I simply don't buy their newer models without the star where I expect it to be !
Or I get one from the good old W140 say & install it myself in place of the flat M-B coin emblem on the bonnet !
@hseochin1002 my current car I'd the same as my old one they are both w211 but this new one is a brabus but my old one was silver with the star on the bonnet. I can't explain what it felt like having that at the end of the bonnet but it is very much missed. Obviously I can't stick one on my new one as its a brabus do would just look like a fake one then but I totally get what you mean and definitely agree with you. Many years ago jaguar did a similar thing. All jags had the leaping chrome jaguar on the bonnet. Eventually crash test safety became a concern that it would impal people if they was run over. That and fuel economy so they unfortunately removed the iconic badge 😞
@@c4r5on88 I not familiar with Jaguar situation but I do understand for M-B the upright star is never rigidly mounted but has a spring which yields on impact to satisfy safety concerns to pedestrians etc.
So the current latest ones on S & Maybach class models no doubt they would have 'passed' the safety check so there's really no real issue as far as I'm concerned why a similar upright star would have any safety 'problems' if installed on the lower class models like C, B even A classes come to think of it.
Anyway there's other current cars like RR which feature upright standing logo on top of the bonnet...so those would have passed any safety tests I logically expect.
Is this your car? If so do you recommend it? How is the maintenance and repairs? Thanks!
Merceses don't nead repairs
@@feinschmecker9566 U made 2020 great again xdddddddddddddddddddd
Honestly, dont know. Had no problem so far, but because of bloody covid im not driving much. Spare parts are for reasonable price, almost everything you can find in OEM.
