Hey, i had the same car. It can go more than 237 with a trick :-) You must use the tempomat and accelerate with the tempomat. With that trick it goes 250 - 255 ;-) But only if your car doesnt have the Mercedes Software Update. Because with the new Update they closed this little "misstake" :(
Hey Max. thank you for the ride and review of this car. I am really interested in buying one of those , W211 estate / station wagon as well. I would like to ask if there is no much of a problem , and if you know of course , what would a bad seller would try to cover up on this car except the outside panels? Like a reset SBC badly patched up exhaust manifold, patchy cleaning of leaky injectors and so on. If you ve got that kind pf an expertise on this car and would like to share I d be gratefull , as I m looking for an economic reliable family transport / traveler. Thank you. Tom.
Rust is more and more a topic with these cars. The bad thing is, that the rust hides behind covers which need to be undone first in order to see how good the condition of the chassis is. If the car has done many many miles then most likely the SBC had to be replaced the car should be equipped with a SBC starting with partnumber A005, all higher are fine (goes up to A009) and all less are problematic. In my opinion to avoid all the bad things of the W211 (like leaking transmission cooler, where glycol gets in the transmissionfluid and damages the transmission, SBC,...). Get a model which was produced after june 2004. You can easily identify those models by having a look at the dashboard. If the big grid which sits on top of the dash (in the middle) is fine-meshed then its the one you should get otherwise not😂 Hope that helps.😉
Depends on various things, not just pure milage. So from my experience 100-200k kilometers or 10-15 years will last parts directly from the Mercedes dealer. Parts from other companies like Monroe won't last that long.😉
Die Handschuhe haben viele Vorteile. 😂 Im Winter schützen sie vor Kälte ( hab Durchblutungsstörungen in den Händen) und im Sommer verbrenn ich mir nicht die Finger am Lenkrad 😂👍
@@DignitasCars Yeah it could be. I replaced one of the alloys which was damaged and it improved slightly. It's a 20 year old car with 160,000 miles on the clock so I eventually just gave up, I rarely drive very fast now anyway. I read that the W211 E-class, especially the estate versions are notorious for vibration problems.

Da hast du vollkommen Recht 👍 Die haben wenigstens noch Charakter 😃
Fährst du auch so ein Auto aus dieser Ära?

Best best best engine !
I think so too😀
Too bad the rest of the car has 1000 other problems. Worth ditching this engine for the om642 just to get a better car overall.
Excellent video, Ty. 🤝

The car was produced in november 2004 and I guess it did not receive any software updates...
So I think it's worth trying it out 😄
@@DignitasCars my old car was produced in 2005. I am still missing the Engine Sound of R6 and the power of 3.2 Diesel :(
maybe the first owner let Mercedes make the Software Update but dont know that they fixed that "Bug" .
@@DignitasCars when you try it you must activate the tempomat when you reached 200 and let the tempomat step by step go still 250 :) Have fun
I'll give it a try😄

How do you enable 5th gear only mode? My petrol E320 can't.
You have to change the SCN coding of the transmission control unit otherwise its not possible. This can be done for example with Vediamo😉

You have the stronger V6 engine right?😃
204bhp is the most reliable engine pretty much problem free one the rest unfortunately have loads of problems

I would recommend the 5w40
Nice!!
What you mean it's not what they claim about the top speed. Factory top speed 234kmph and you got to 236kmph...
Gps
how are the models with airsuspension lasting, what sort of milege can they reach without major issues

200-300k or 10-15 years. Arnott makes very good quality aftermarket parts, just no reason paying double for oem (febi).
what is better this engine or the om606?
This one, but only wihtout DPF 😉😂
Ist das der 197ps Motor ?
Nein ist nicht der OM 613 Motor sondern der OM 648 Motor mit 204 PS.😀
Nice job :) how can you check the real milage ?
Through legit software, it reads the full data from the key.
What’s the most expensive thing to fix on it ?
Airmatic

Gearbox and engine was changed ?
No, first engine and first gearbox. Only the torque converter was changed once.😃
Stupid question! It's obvious you don't know much about Mercedes.
My 2003 W211 E320 CDI vibrates too much over 80 mph sadly. Even with a good wheel balance.
Maybe wheelhubs or some worn suspension component🤔

check your engine mounts
There are at least 10 things in your that can cause vibrations

@@DignitasCars what exactly will I need if the km index is manipulated?
