Inari (www.maitravelsi... a small village just besides Lake Inari, a huge lake with more than 3000 islands about 100 km long and 60 wide. This unique lake is the only one in the world North of the Arctic Circle that melts during the summer months, allowing for great fishing and sailing.
During the winter season the lake is also one of the best places is the world where to observe the Northern Lights, and while I did see them when I was last here in 2008 I was not as lucky this year. I did get the chance to visit the SIIDA museum, perhaps my favorite in the world which I highly recommend you visit if in the area. In fact I think this is the only museum in the world I have voluntarily visited twice- that actually says a lot!
I then made my way south towards a husky farm, but because I was in the area late in the season I was not able to join a husky tour, something I still have to do. I learned about reindeer and next went to Saariselka, a very popular skiing town just a few minutes away (you can read about my visit here www.maitravelsi.... There I visited the Angry Birds Theme Park which will delight kids and prepared for the fun I was to enjoy the following day.

I can imagine how you felt! The first time I was there I did get to see them, and I have since seen them in Northern Sweden too. Were you able to take any pics?

When did you film this? Looks like spring, so I hope April. Because I want to go in March and hope to see a much more winter environment with snow covered trees

Thanks for great idea to visit Angry Birds Theme Park. We didn't know that there is such place for kids. If you know any other activities or places worth seeing with kids please let us know. We are planning our Scandinavia trip for next year.

+Trips With Kids Hey, glad you found it and liked it! In Rovaniemi make sure you head over to Santa's House (check he is there). I have seen a couple of such places in the world and that in Rovaniemi is the best and coolest by far. It is also right on the Arctic circle. :)

+MaiTravelSite Santa's House we already have on our to do list. Our trip will be from Poland through Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland to Norway (we want to visit North Cape), after that we want to drive along the Norway to Denmark, then Germany to Poland. About a month on the road.
In Finland we want to visit Moomins World in Naantali, Lahti Ski jumping, Santa's House, Siida and thanks to you - Angry Birds Theme Park. Lot of attractions during a road trip to make kids happy.
This Theme Park as I assume is the one located in Holiday Club Hotel in Saariselka? Correct me if I'm wrong.
