I watched the war horse theater videos and I was absolutely amazed at what I was watching .I very much enjoyed them and especially the movie! Being a horse lover that I am . I would love to see that in reality that would be so very cool good work excellent work watched all of them . Unbelievable to what theater can do . good job;)
5 Tonys in cluding for Best Play..6 if you count the Special Awatd to S. Africa's amazing handspring Puppet Co.! and ALL very well deserved. Loved when Neil came out on the puppet of Joey! Just phenomenal!
saw this show, you seriously forget that they're just puppets. You actually wish that they were real, I mean in the ending I was crying for a puppet? Its amazing
Saw the play at Lincoln Center in August. Few (men or women) were ready for the intense emotional impact early on, and the volume of muffled sniffling was almost distracting. I so wish I could afford to see it again before the film comes out!
@dramakaw Actually, glue was made from the hoofs of horses, rather than the flesh which is used for meat in Australia, and other countries, as well as dog food
@LivandApollox if thats the case then there would be no american West Side Story or Aida or Les Mis or Miss Siagon and the list goes on and on, it's called acting, and a good actor can pull anything off
@futuresuperstar4life Well you know im just saying...In movies they make it as realistic as possible, and I just thought it would be good for everyone really....
@LivandApollox he doenst when i went to see it there was an english guy playing him he had a cornish accent liek joey should have it was great but i do agree with you it shoudl eb english but to my memory when i saw it (a few months ago) joey was english
because when horses got old and useless in the past they were sent to the 'knackers yard' to be killed and their hooves/ possible bones (im not sure) were crushed and used as an ingredient in glue. :(
I was able to see War Horse in October, it's beautiful in both how it's written and how it's performed. Seriously one of the best plays I've ever seen
War Horse was such an amazing play, I am so happy it got honored so thoroughly by American theater lovers.
Viveka Claire Last year I honoured the Army by going to see WarHorse in theatres and IM GOING AGAIN IN JULY
So magnificent a production that it will bring tears to your eyes...

I had no interest in theatre when I was a kid, and now a decade later I'm sad I didn't get to see this amazing play live.
the most intensely brilliant puppetry EVER
Becca Hickman WARHORSE
Me and a friend just watch war horse (national theater live) at the movie theater yesterday and we are so glad to have watched it when we did :D
"Ironically, that entire horse is held together by glue." Classic. :)
Hugh Jackman's face at 4:57 is priceless. It's just utter awe. XD
that puppetry is incredible
I'm so glad I was lucky enough to see this back in 2008 at the National Theatre. Here's to keeping the duck in the film!
God I remember him as a kid sitting behind me watching Falsettos on Broadway. He kept singing along and I finally had to turn around to shush him.

The movie is just as good!! ...I heart actor Tom Hiddleston who played Nicholls in the movie!
Basil, seeing you in a tux reminds me of Sticky Poem in 1972...

@dramakaw

LOVED the book to death!

I loved War Horse as a book, the movie was okay, but u wanna see it onstage SO BAD.
It's my two favorite things: horses and theatre :-)
Seth Numrich!!!!!!!
i wan't to see that play! O.O
Sad. But thank you.
@LivandApollox if thats the case then there would be no american West Side Story or Aida or Les Mis or Miss Siagon and the list goes on and on, it's called acting, and a good actor can pull anything off
@OTHsmallvillefan glue was originally made from horses.
i agree.
Can someone explain Harris' joke to me please on 5:15?
@yabbaification Well, glue was primarily made from the flesh of horses. But I don't think it is anymore.
戦火の馬 舞台芸術の精緻!
Seth Numrich (Sam/Romeo) Yay!! Matt Doyle (Glenn/Juliet) Whoo Hoo!!!
The glue joke was a little too soon.
4:55 Hugh Jackman looks impressed
...so I guess War Horse won a couple of awards.
@DramaKaw I have to show my ignorance and confess I didn't get it. Could you explain it please.
To me, it sucks that the play won all its Tonys while the movie didn't win a single Oscar.
Was waiting for someone to thank the British 'Tommy' or animals that were pressed and sold into service, which after all is what the play is about?

Unwanted horses were sent to the slaughterer's aka Knacker's.and the bones were made into glue.
Hugh Jackman's face 4:57
@Lincoln center
SKIP TO THE COOL PART 4:46 .

戦火の馬❗️
@DanTheJScott Puppeteering. :)
I dont think the american dude should play albert because he is english and would ruin the feeling
Obviously, the actor puts on he accent when he is in stage during the play.
I'm sorry but the movie is nothing compared to the play.
