Hey Matt!! Great stuff! Up here in NY i throw those almost exclusively on the Upper Allegheny for smallies and walleye! We call em the "money rig" cause they flat out work. I use a 1/8 or 1/4 oz ball head, with a 3 or 4 inch grub or keitech swimbait, then i attach a clip on spinner arm. $12 gets me 8 or 9 of those setups. Been throwing em for about 10 years. Cheap and effective!
I don’t know about the rest of you that watch Matt when he says he’s trying to save us money with fishing tips but every time I think I have enough baits Matt comes up with another good bait and I’m compelled to purchase more baits. Thanks a lot Matt! Really Matt thank you for the good info and hope to see you sometime on the Wisconsin river cause I’m just down stream from you. 😂
Also what I like that you forgot to mention is the swinging head, that is so awesome because does two things Matt, 1. helps against the wire getting bent during fighting a fish and... 2. takes away leverage from a bass to shake free after getting hooked cause the bait swings freely from hook point to line tie, i only use buzzbaits and spinnerbaits that have swinging heads
An inline spinner has always been a confidence lure for me. It always works when other baits don't seem to. I've been wanting to pick up a wire bender at my local Jann's Netcraft so I can make my own spinners. This Picasso design is a good one to use for reference. One thing I'd like to see is that it would have a quick-change clevis for blade changes. Thanks for sharing!
That stainless wire we have here a clip on that has a short arm on it but it’s not in line , I put a boot tail in like a 3 inch swimbait and for here it smokes the fish and during the winter time I change my single Colorado to a single willow , I burn em here on it plus trout and reds
Good video , there is another company called Dangla lures that makes an inline spinner with an EWG hook. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like it could be another good option to consider.
This is one of those that I have wanted to try out. I think you did a video where you were making them from old - reused broken spinners. Would be cool to be able to interchange the jig head, perhaps to the Tush!
Great video. I'm going to order some. A inline spinner that I really like is a PANTHER MARTIN WEEDRUNNER. I started using it a couple of years ago,and it catches everything. I like to put a 4 inch zoom super fluke a 3.75 strike king rage swimmer and a 4 inch curly tail grub on my. All my weed runners are 3/8oz. They do come in 5/8oz but I really like the 3/8oz. I think it's the best all around size. Keep the videos coming, I really enjoy watching them.
I recently got a 1 oz Roostertail to try for bass. I've done well with small ones for bass a trout. But I didn't try the big one yet. Now my situation changed. I'm moving to the VA Beach area tomorrow. No more trying for bass at Lake Norman. I've been missing the saltwater for too long and VA allows us to do other things I like, puff puff 😉. But I'm still going to watch your videos because you explain stuff and teach me things I can use for salty fish. Oh and I bet that spinner would catch trout and redfish in saltwater, and maybe I'll try it.
Your observation about the sleeve over the wire whether intentional by Picasso or not does prevent bending. Along with fishing my other passion is powerlifting. For decades now all the heavy duty power racks used bar and sleeve safeties. It’s a larger version of the same thing. When the barbell is dropped the loose fitting sleeves absorb some of the shock and bounce off the solid steel pins and keeps them from bending under the sudden load.
Awesome tip on this one, I have heard of this bait but have not tried it, sorry I have missed a few videos was on a trip to Lake of the Ozarks, got a few nice ones and I used the Hover Rig and really enjoyed that!!!
I’m desperately trying not to,buy more baits. I just boxed up hundreds of dollars worth of plastics, jigs, hooks, etc. Strike king, Z man, netbait, all the names. I ALWAYS wind up going back to the same 8-10 baits and the rest just hang on my monstrous pegboard. So it’s time to downsize.
@@givemeabreakdoc I know the feeling lol! I have stuff I’ll probably never throw out….but that doesn’t mean I won’t need it some day! Sometimes I look at all my stuff and think “ yep that’s my new boat payment right there” lol🎣
@@Bankfishindude it's so satisfying to do well with an old lure that hasn't been made in years. If it's a hard bait, even better to know how collectable one can be. Either way, you do have an advantage having what others don't and can't obtain. Especially if it was a proven design.
Picasso is a sneaky company I feel. I use some of their jigs, their tungsten vibrating jigs, and their underspin harness that turns any swim jig into an underspin. …. I’ve been impressed with everything I’ve bought so far.
Great video!!! Thanks for the advice on the in-line spinner. I'm from Pittsburgh area and we have the rivers so will give it a try!!! Good luck to you & the boys on your Wednesday tournament!!! Stay Safe & God Bless!!!
Noticed TW has stocked out of the TUSH (received mine yesterday direct from Core). Picasso is having a run, too- i bought the last of a 3/0 in gold and the 2/0 in the 1/4 oz. gold was down to 8. You & TW have definitely contributed to my tackle expansion. Appreciate the input. These Snake River (Idaho) smallmouth are well educated.
You actually bring to mind an interesting idea for a video. What lures, rods, reels, lines, etc woild you recommend for kids at different ages? At what age would you recommend a baitcaster?
Great info Matt! Does the inline spinner on the Picasso have line twist? Most inline spinners used have line twist or does the smaller spinner reduce that?
Matt, I fish heavy cover and love gitzets but have never found a hook that I had a lot of confidence in. Would appreciate your learned opinion about a good one. Normally using a 3 1/2 inch with a 1/8 to 1/4 oz weight with 10 to 15 foot pitches. Thank you.
Awesome, I ordered half a dozen via your Tackle Warehouse portal. I used to use a spoon, with V shaped plastic weedguard, with an inline spinner on the flooded islands on the Mississippi! {
Hheellll yeah! That and the All terrain are magnetic They kill for me in all water, but tidal waters they will find you the pigs. I love the all terrain with a 3-4” paddle on it… also a curly tail grub KILLS
Have to agree, I love the inline spinners.
Thabks

Hey Matt, I have a #4 or a #5 Mepps tied on all the time and I throw it almost for the entire year. Great bait and fun to fish.
catch so many fish!
Great stuff Matt, Another good one is the Weedless Sally, I really appreciate your insight into the when, where, how and why lure types work. Thanks
yep!
Mepps...taking it old school! 👊💯🎣
You got that right!
I haven’t used an online spinner in years but I will restock and get to throwing them.
I have so much tackle that I get anxiety trying to choose one to throw, I need therapy.😂
they work so well!
i have a few of these but with the skirt material like a spinner bait. love how they get through the grass.
Nice!

I agree! Got my Hover Rig, Tush, and the inline spinner:-) Now I just need to get thru this treatment for Lyme disease so I can be in the sun again!

Very true!
The weed guard is nice addition to the setup.
yep!
Those mepps bronze slammer caught me quite a few this spring. Thanks for doing a video on it.
You bet
Ive Been making my own for a couple years now. I love inline spinners

I make my own spinners but I buy the pre bent wire .this way I can make different size blades and colors
@@gregchilders7643 I do the same but having that $25 Tack-L Tool bender would make it a whole lot easier.

I’ve even caught catfish on mepps in-line spinner
awesome!
Thanks Matt more tackle. Like I need more tackle.
Any time!
Picasso makes really good stuff. Their tungsten chatterbaits are really good as are their swim jigs. Thanks for the heads up on this bait!

I just fished the yamatanuki. Amazing. Bites every other cast. But I need bigger hooks for it.

I love using the creme lure spinner bait with the shad attached to it I find them at Walmart for dollar . Keep up through great viedos
Good to know!
Would you rather use soft plastic on a jig head or attach it to a spinner (like beetle spin set up) or inline spinner
theres a time a place for both
🍺Thanks Matt. Good luck tonight. 7 of my BPT picks made top 25 finishes. 2 made the top 10. Lee 1st and Wheeler 5th.
awesome!
Rooster Tails were a staple for me when I began fishing for bass. Haven't thrown one in many years. Better options out there.
great baits!
That weed guard looks like it really works, cool bait
it does!

My biggest bass ever was on a little 1/8th oz rooster tail
very cool
What powerbait stinger colors do you prefer for the picasso inline spinner? I don't have much shad forage where I fish in Central VA
i like the okeechobee craw, tennessee shad and sungill

Core tackle should make something similar with titanium wire.
thats a good idea!
what size inline are your recommending for that power stinger?
i fish it on 15 lb

I do love a good inline spinner! Growing up on the Fox Chain, all we threw were beetle spins and Mepp's spinners!
they catch everything!
I would love seeing you and Hank the hammer in a Wednesday nighter!
we fish every wednesday nighter we can. Tomorrows video is a recap from yesterdays wednesday nighter!
There's more than i way to skin a cat. I use a Snagless Sally. Keep the vids coming!
sounds good!
Do you know Edwin Stefan?
nope
Great fish finder
yes it is!
Beetle spin x10
yep!
Cool idea, but $11.00 for an inline is pricey. I may try to make one.
give it a try!
👍👍👍👍👍
thanks for watching!
The only reason why I don't buy those... too expensive for a one and done possible bait.
They are so good
@MattStefanFishing trust me, I'm so tempted every time I see them on the shelf... 🤣🤣🤣
Looks like a long nose underspin.
kinda
