- You might think this was something that was put together after I heard today's sad news. The truth is that I've been working on learning this tune as a fun exercise to see if I can still commit music to memory and to test if my listening skills have gotten better over the years...I've been literally messing with this complex tune for a couple of weeks now. Michael Also came over the house today to help me with a few studio/music related projects and we chose to try and get a good take of this epic tune from Blow By Blow (1975). I started learning it back then when it first came out and got about halfway through it. I'm really enjoying it on this revisit some 40 years later. Such a beautiful string arrangement by Sir George Martin and great odd time signature (5/4?) to have to play over.
Strange and beautiful coincidence that this was going on at my home while the sad news of our great loss was beginning to travel around the internet. Mike had told me that Pattie Boyd had posted about it yesterday and that it was quickly claimed to be a hoax.
Unfortunately, it is not.
I loved Jeff...his playing was not able to be put in any one category.
