    Aside from having excellent off-meta content, I love these videos and your "I fixed it" videos. I'm always going to be checking out your stuff dude. I also noticed you could be interested in POE2? I am definitely going all in when that comes out. Spent a good 9-10 years in the first game when D3 broke my heart.

      @@noknownthrone2487 thanks bud, ah yea POE2 is a must play for me. Ive never really played POE1. I tried it years ago and i didnt get drawn in and didnt get far and barely remember my experience with it. For me its d2r and poe2 or nothing else when it comes to ARPGs right now.

      @@off-meta-michael I feel totally the same about D2R and POE2. POE1 took me a couple tries and giving up before it clicked, then it was non stop for nearly a decade! Then D2R came out and it BLEW me away. I still can’t believe how perfectly they nailed what my imagination was drawing in my head from D2:LoD. I will be tuning in if you make POE2 content 🤘🏻 I’m definitely going to be trying my hand as well.

    I agree with you that it would be nice if charges became more useful. It would be fun to experiment with a lot of different ideas for builds.
    I do have one point though. You can already pretty much build this character as an amazon. She uses most of the same gear except ice runeword instead of mist to add that holy freeze aura, then you use a synergized freezing arrow for more damage. You even get to run either pride for concentration or infinity for conviction on a might merc to boost the damage. You can also go the faith route instead of ice for fanaticism instead of holy freeze. This build rocks with the passive dodges, penetrate for added attack rating, and synergies for more damage than the paladin can get to account for the fact that this build doesn't usually max out resists very easily. It's a lot of fun to play actually and does quite well in P1 games. I have this character on non ladder and I have really enjoyed the gameplay for her.

      @@EvilCronos13 sounds awesome dude. Ive made the ice maiden build as well and it's awesome. Really like it. Im hoping with my suggestions here people can see the greater implications it could have for the game.

      On the other hand, you can already do this with explosive arrows with Kuko Shakaku or Demon Machine or smth.

      @@Ubeogesh yea freezing arrow and explosive arrow mechanically work similarly with their radius damage, but thats kind of like saying, you can make a blizzard druid by using fissure already. So, i dont really agree with this type of thinking.
      Also, holy freeze slows as well and ice shatters monsters, which is not the same as fire baded abilities. The other aspect is the actual impact and sound effects. Freezing arrow is more satisfying than explosive arrow in that regard. There's a really nice padded yet crisp sound effect to it. People who play ice maiden know what i mean.

    I want to see the mercs able to wear boots belt and gloves, that way unique eth stuff isnt wasted, also gives them trade value

      @@jebadaiah1228 there's something good about the limited gear slots that changes things up and affects your decision making, but i think id probably enjoy it more overall if we could gear them with those items. Wouldnt mind the change

    I’d caveat charge scaling based on initial roll. So a lvl 1 freezing would ultimately scale lower than a lvl 3. Also like the repair durability & indestructible reacting with charges as you suggest.

    I think they should give charges a recharge rate of something similar to recharge stacks IE on jav's.
    Frezz, explode, multi shot, enchant, low res and teleport seam to be the only options I like.. or some crazy lld 18 build design I have. Ie fisser/sac/bone charges summon necro. Hammers seam to have no use and theirs a few other's.

    Ive Always seen charges and proc skills as completely useless in D2, apart from the obvious chance to proc amp dmg, decrepify, fade, and teleport charges.
    I have always thought they missed a really awesoms gameplay element here.
    In Grim Dawn, Proc Builds are insanely fun.

    I love this idea. I always thought that charges had wasted potential. I thought charges would need replenish over time or at least be extremely cheap in the repair shop. But this is a better idea.

    The idea of a zod rune making charges unlimited is a cool idea. You can put it on a socketed teleport stick/naj's puzzler.

    I love the ideas you presented, but with that said I'm very concerned about power creep. I think magics/rares that have great great rolls should be BiS over runewords, but there has to be some sort of balance so things don't get too easy.
    I'd love a complete rebalance of everything as in nerfing certain particular runewords but it'll be kinda cool for them to add a 4th and final difficulty that's mobs with more damage/random affixes/more health because let's be honest, a lot of builds cut through hell like butter.
    Another wish I have is better act boss AI maybe not in normal or nightmare, but hell+ would be super cool to see and give a breath of fresh air to the game.
    Finally, repairing Berserker axes is just awful when you have a smiter or ww barb. It just constantly is breaking. Would love to see a fix to that.

      Hey thanks for your thoughts. Here's some to bounce off you.
      Power creep is always the objection to every patch d2 has ever had. And overall i think the game is better off at this point than it has ever been. So, i dont think the risk of power creep should deter them from looking at items and seeing how to make them even more interesting and useful. To me the two biggest problems with rare items are charges and all body armors. Not a single rare body armor has a use in the game. Ive used them for style points but that's it. Rares are in a good spot for rings, amulets, and boots; occasionally gloves. Weapons are so niche you could identify them for literally years and never find one worth keeping, which is kind of a bummer, but also kind of amazing if you find one. This would all have to be considered when balancing.
      with the rumor about d2r possibly getting another balance patch i want to get the conversation going on the charge system. I dont think power creep is an issue. We have infinity with sunder charms and -enemy res already. All the main builds demolish the game. Being able to use multi shot, power strike, or freezing arrow on a pair of gloves would not disrupt a single meta build. I dont see how allowing more variety of build potential is a negative. It would be like having a weapon on swap for a specific type of immunity if you could find charges that would be useful. You still have to find the item too.
      The biggest consideration for this would probably be the sorceress. She can synergize most of the charges and youd be able to triple spec in a way that i think a lot of people would object. The thing is....with sunder charms, you are bypassing that anyway and essentially having the same outcome. So, if you're worried about power creep, just the sunder charms alone granted a buff to all single element builds.
      You can find shields at level 92 at the vendors, for example, with level 4 nova charges. In what possible way could this ever be used? I've heard the argument that these are in place in order to increase shitty items so that you don't only find good stuff. I don't like this argument. To me, a rare that could be build defining or augmenting could be pretty awesome for the game.
      I agree new content would help a lot with any potential power creep. There would have to be a tremendous amount of consideration for that. You might have to have sunder resistant enemies in that scenario as well as new mods for enemy elites, like energy shield that can only be broken with X type of element or attack.

    Would be cool if the standard of hero’s could be used in a recipe to reroll rares and keep ilvl or reroll uniques. Drop a crappy griffons… reroll with standard + anni + token.

      @@Micloren in not totally on board with this idea. Would have to think about that for a long time. I think i dont love the idea of increasing the number of currencies in the game. I could see why that might be desirable in single player though. But, online, you could just trade high runes for a well rolled one from someone.

    Rares & uniques should all have long shot odds of out rolling runewords when it comes to base affixes. Runewords should be a placeholder till you find a godly rare. Would make trading way more vibrant. Crafting needs a major overhaul too. In general I hate finding GG rares… like a shield that just can’t compete against spirit in any way. Adding a socket to a rare or unique should also be simpler than a soj or larzuk. Like maybe rare jewel + any unique ring = rare socket. And a rare jewel + unique ring + token of absolution = unique socket.

    Would love to see charges over hauled. I personally think that's bigger deal than the unique over hall. I personally have not ran across a completely useless unique. But I have came across may near gg Rare's that the charges on it are useless.
    PS. don't get me wrong theirs a few unique that require to much lvl and stat req making them useless at any time line in game.

    It's definitely worth making various charges more plentiful and stronger. But I am strictly against them self-restoring, because it almost makes them too similar to Oskils, and overall too strong.
    Using charges should be taxing on your gold.
    But with so many combat skill charges, the level and number of charges is truly pathetic. So I would agree to increasing quantity and levels of combat skills (i.e. only the ones that are used to directly deal damage, not for utility like curses and teleport).
    Also +ALL skill levels should give levels to charges. Skill level based on clvl may also be too good.

      @@Ubeogesh you still have to have the repairs mod roll. You could play for a year and never find it. If the charges dont scale then there's less reason to use them as you level. If you're going to allow +skills to increase them and also increase the quantity like you suggested then i dont see why level scaling shouldn't be allowed. The point is to find rares that have useful mods and actually could be build defining for a character or augmenting for a hybrid setup.
      So, why stick with vendors and gold being the only way to restore them if you're going to adjust them to be more useful in the game? It's not a fun mechanic. Its still a video game afterall. The item chase is still there. They won't recharge on their own with what i suggested. this wouldn't break the game. it would just allow more build opportunities and more hybrid setups, which i think is what the original intention was before sunder charms were introduced. A lot of the runewords for melee, for example, have special elemental or magic damage properties or curses to remove or bypass physical immunity. Like voice of reason does enough cold damage to kill any physical immune in the game, even if you don't maximize it.
      That being said, I like the sunder charms so you can spec into one element. Its especially great for fire builds which were really hurting before in where they could farm.
      Lastly, the charge system is prevalent in the game and it has almost no use case for the majority of the spells and attacks that can roll. I believe the game could be enhanced with these suggestions and rares could be more useful, which would make an already excellent game even more fun. If there was a seriously detrimental, game breaking effect then a balance would have to be put in place. I don't think it's that hard to consider these things and make it work for everyone.

      Some people will be mad no matter what it is and if it costs anything, but i personally would pay for a currency tab and extra stash tabs on every character without hesitation. I don't know what kind of problem this would create with servers, if any, but it is seriously annoying to have an account mostly made up of mules.
      There's so much they could do though besides that. Just a balance patch doesn't seem to be enough to pay for in my opinion. It would have to be on the heels of some much needed QoL stuff and extra content. I mean i would pay for any update since im just a huge fan, but that's not justifiable for most people. It is bewildering they aren't trying to keep d2 players engaged, because a lot of us won't ever go to d3 or d4, and d2r sold really damn well.

      @@tulthor2967 here's some ideas for your consideration:
      you can do this already in the game, the charges just don't replenish. Finding freezing arrow charges with repair durability mod is also so rare that it would be worth a few ber runes in trade value.
      You can do the fire variant as well with paladin or sorceress and it's just as strong if not stronger than this and easier to obtain things fire reducing gear like flickering flame. I fully geared a fire bow sorc and fire bow paladin rhis season alone.

      @@jebadaiah1228 you could sure. This setup with the 100% pierce is stronger though since pierce multiplies the damage of the freeze arrow cloud. It doesn't matter though. The point is proposing that these mechanics about durability and charges should interact together.

    Yup, repairs durability should totally repair charges. And it should take 1 second, not 3 seconds.
