The episode also teases an epic showdown with the mysterious Tagami, setting the stage for the battles to come.
Packed with fascinating Demon World lore, character growth, and unexpected connections to Toriyama’s other works like Sand Land, this episode brings fresh twists to the Dragon Ball universe. With rich world-building, emotional moments, and some light-hearted surprises (like Panzy’s dumplings that rival senzu beans), Episode 7 has something for everyone.

Love that everyone is move to Bluesky now lol
Mr blue sky, please tell us why, you've been hiding away for soooo longg
Please get off the platform, it ripe with groomers and freaks.
@@zeldapro18 only freaks and groomers
Goku constantly messing up Glorio's name despite hearing it like 30 times by now but pronouncing Shin's real name perfectly the first instance of learning it is peak Dragon Ball comedy. He definitely is doing it on purpose lol
... hypertomic lime chainber.
Goku?
@@ErenisRanitos😂😂😂😂😂
@@truffle6082Goku has always been a troll.
I am amazed Goku didn't say Glory Hole. 😂
I forget the guy's name, but when the majin who picks up Vegeta, Bulma and Piccolo came along, I appreciated that while everyone watches the ship approach, Vegeta steps in front of Bulma protectively.
The majin that picks up goku's friends was named hybis
@rylzafable3242 Thank you.
Vegeta's whole role in the episode was perfect to reflect his caring husband mentality. When Bulma was upset, he was visibly also upset _for her._ He doesn't talk back or tell her to shut up or calm down, he is empathetic that his wife cared enough to work so hard and grits his teeth to let her yell it out to feel better... Despite how much he would also want to yell about it. He respects her enough to want her to feel better more than himself.
Then, of course, what you bring up is that Vegeta was willing to shield Bulma from a stranger approach.
I wouldn't be surprised if he wants Bulma to go shopping with the Majin so she can at least feel better after slaving for days for something she had no way to accomplish.
@@williamfalls Id go with the Royal Responsibility learning Angle for Vegeta in the demon worlds
I keep thinking he’s a yardratan 😂. I like his character though he just wants to go home and chill. 😂
9:59 to be fair the issue with bulma was the power source for the ship was of a broken mineral that is not native to earth and thus could not be replaced, less stumped and more so does not have access to what she needs to fix it
The "Shin is actually useful" episode. Love it.
I love how the Gandemarie are so disrespected where people don't care that the gang stole their plane
"Stealing from the government's armed military police?! That's great!"
Wasting military funding let's goooooo
Nobody likes the IRS.
I was expecting a lot more to come of it. Like people hiding as the plane landed! But, then it's just - oh, ACAB!
Just a note: It was specified that fighting a Tamagami has to be 1v1. That said, Goku has those fusion bugs- I could even see a very Toriyama gag where a Tamagami is weighing up whether or not fusion counts as 1v1 or 2v1.
It really is a shame Toryiama is not around to see how well this show is being received.
It hit me last night that dragon ball won’t ever be the same without Toriyama’s input in the story now. Definitely sucks
RIP to a great man
The worst/best part is that it sounds like he was so happy to be working on it again. This story reignited his love for his creation
It was a pleasant surprise to hear All Might's voice from the Tamagami, ah now im kinda missing BNHA lol.
Oh and this was definitively the "Shin" episode!
After 40 years we finally get to know the Supreme kai's true name, "Nahare" and it damn does it suits him very well. Unfortunately for Goku it doesn't quite roll off the tongue and just sticks to Shin, I love it.
Pansy: How did you raise a kid?
Goku: I wasn't that involved
lol, it's confirmed!
Goku has not been alive again for that long in Daima.
I mean, you want him to lie?
@@schwarzerritter5724 The hell you're talking about? He's like 40.
@@kiwamicorps Son Goten has known his father for maybe a year, possibly less.
@schwarzerritter5724 True. But he was talking about Gohan. They had 5 years of peace. And in that time Chichi changed, because she had to be one responsible.
I liked this episode giving the reveal of Shin's true name! It suits him really well, and seeing him fight was really cool.
I thought his name would end in -su.
Part of me thinks it wasn't a real name and just a common name of his species. It's possible his actual name may evoke a "Oh! So you're that one guy that ran off and is wanted!" sort of reaction that he'd rather avoid from the rogue princess inventor with possible historical knowledge. Shin is very cautious in the series so far, so it wouldn't surprise me it's another nickname.
@@PabloNeves26 Kibito's doesn't end in -su either
@-PVL93- but is he an apprentice or an assistant?
@-PVL93- also this naming convention is recent, in the original work (up to Z) the masters and gods didn't have proper names
I'm happy to see Shin doing stuff (important stuff) in Daima.
Now that I think about it Piccolo’s natural Magic is probably “Clothes Beam”
I'm so happy, to know so much about Shin finally. Like his original name, Nahare. He always felt underutilized and apparently Toriyama thought so too. This Fan Kai is giddy about the plot thickening after the team get the first Dragon Ball.
I´m sure you´re really happy with finally seeing shin fight again right
@@Arthur-ex4yj Considering his only other onscreen battle was him having his ass handed to him, yes, it was very refreshing to see him fight again. (And what's more, he's fighting well too!)
@@Kelscheronimaybe shin picked by four supreme kai's because he was stronger than them combined but wasnt resumed his training. And still training under elder kai although he was full supreme kai. Kaiju tree wasnt born new supreme kai because buu absorbed them alive, they chose someone from glind
Piccolo absolutely shat himself at the sensing of Shin at the world tournament. This synergy development tracks!
Shin's always been one of my favorite characters, and he's a big reason I've always loved the character type of gods who are kind of foolish or in over their head but are still trying their damnedest regardless. It's great to finally a plot that actually explores him as a character and lets him actually act and do things alongside the other characters.
Same! He's been a longtime favorite of mine as well. This was a long time coming for him, but I'm glad it was better late than never.
This Tamagami is voiced by All-Might. 😉
I am so happy to see some content for Shin and am excited to learn more. He's always been one of my favs ever since seeing him first in DBZ and was always disappointed with the lack of development and usefulness of his character. And his Pan Paka Pan was just too cute as well aslfknaslfkasf
Also I like Hybis, he's cute. The designs of the Majins have been very fun so far, love them.
Funny how a silly gag manga show acknowledged the evils of segregation without hindering the story's flow, and people talk about how woke stuff ruins storytelling. It has nothing to do with social commentary, it's all about quality writing, where ideas are very skilfully integrated to feel organic.
Also, Goku hears about others coming and all he's really excited about is if his chibi sparring m8 Vegeets is arriving or not.
Been having a bit of a slog today. Thanks For this masako! Your videos always lift my spirits
I’ve been waiting for this review! I’m looking forward to seeing the lore and characters of Daima get integrated into your future “What-ifs”.
Did everyone miss the part where Glorio says you have to fight one on one? Vegeta and piccolo can't help Goku here at least not in this first fight.
well i wonder if fusions count as one on one
@@rayshiotile9487 they gotta fuse at some point.
I loved that Vegeta shifted to a more protective position in front of Bulma when the 'plane' landed.
I love how toyotaro wrote shin in his DBAF manga, one of the rare cases where he´s made useful along with daima now
I get the feeling that there is going to be a secret fourth Dragon Ball. Simply defeating the three Tamagamis seems too easy, plus having a four-star Dragon Ball as the ultimate goal would be fitting for Toriyama's final work.
Perhaps the three Tamagamis will fuse, causing a three-way fusion among our own protagonists in return.
Good review dude I respect your explanations and view points. It's cool how they are expanding the lore always love it and its so cool how they are giving the Supreme Kai a chance in the sun in terms of being a interesting protagonist. Great work dude
I'm surprised and a bit disappointed you didn't mention the small detail of Vegeta moving in front of Bulma to protect her when Hybris's ship showed up.
Imagine if the god of destruction’s names aren’t there birth names and if say Frieza became one and they ask him “What your favorite alcoholic drink?” And then he answers Wine and he is declared God of Destruction Wain 😂😂😂
Isn't there already one with that name?
@fabrizioart1928 Iwan yes but it's an anagram of Wine
I never thought I’d see the day where Shin gets some feats and shows some usefulness 😮
I love seeing all the appreciation in this comment section for our special little Kai. I've been a fan of Shin since the Buu saga first aired in the states back in 2001. All this new lore about him has made me both very happy but it's a strange kind of happy. After being such a hardcore fan for 23 years, then learning all this new information about him, including a real birth name, just makes me feel like I'm seeing Shin for the first time again. Much like Goku said, it seems weird to refer to him as Nahare now. But it doesn't change my opinion on him. It's more like the picture has become much clearer.
Bless you, Toriyama, for having made this all possible before your final days. Knowing this was one of your final projects, I could not have asked for anything else. May you rest in eternal peace.
Shin being actually usefil AND active at the same time is so weird and refreshing ahahahha
I'm gonna make a soft prediction that the Tamagami will go into a sort of low power mode after giving up their dragon ball. With that in mind, i can imagine Tamagami Three asking the gang if people might come and strike up conversation now that he isn't guarding the ball anymore and just be a sort of gentle giant who enjoys seeing the town next to him evolve while he stands guard
the personality from tamagami is the best part of this episode! Got me so hyped for the next episode.
Wait... you don't suppose supreme kai fusion earrings are actually MADE out of fusion bugs do you? The demon realm bugs do look kinda like jewels...
As for "anyone can do it", I think the presupposition there is "anyone with some magical talent can do it". That rules out Goku, but Piccolo should be able to pick up on it, what with his magical clothes beam.
I've had my money on them being made from the bugs droppings. it just feels like a very dragon ball thing to happen
@@Tinwibss As shiny and colorful as the bugs are, that may well be the case! Since Shin didn't mention any familiarity with the fusion bugs, it'd be extra hilarious if he found out he had bug droppings attached to his ears the same time everyone else did.
So Shin becomes useful in Daima only to disappear by the time of Super. Makes sense.
One way vegeta could be utilized is to bridge his development in the moro saga. We don't know the specific point in time and catalyst why he wanted to make up for his action against the namekians. Maybe while learning more about the namekians and their past he gets the chance to reflect on that, leading to his actions in the moro saga.
I was fully expecting the Tamagami to say "SMASH" when Goku challenged it.
Yes, I know it's voiced by Kenta Miyake (All Might's JP VA).
Daima is different. I found myself skipping portions of a lot of episodes while watch Super and Buu saga. But I haven't touched the skip at all while watching Daima
In the teaser for the next episode at the end, we get to see glimpses of the fight. It's going to be awesome! But we already knew that.
I would've had Shin be like would you be upset if I started calling you Kakarot instead of Goku to Goku. When Goku said he was going to use Nahare.
Isn't Shin supposed to be like Cell games Goku level? He just doesn't get to do anything
Even stronger I think. Piccolo was about the same level as Goku during the Cell Games and he didn't want to fight Shin during the World Tournament in the Buu saga. So I think Shin's power level is between Piccolo and Dabura.
He's as strong as Frieza
We could've seen Shin fight in the Buu saga but Piccolo didn't want to.
6:00 Namekians grow the ajisa trees as their "pride", right? Maybe they tended to the glind trees in the past?
Are the glind trees related to the ajisa trees somehow?
I think Vegeta willl have a major story role, consider this, Goku is being clueless about Glorio's motives, Shin himaelf will have to face his own Glind legacy and the fact that he'll be confronting his siblings. vegeta will be the one who observes and cut through Glorio's facade, and bring reality to him to change his mind.
Love your reviews!!!! I about Vegeta’s growth?…. We’ll see his evolution as a partner to Bulma. It is the first time they are going on an adventure together…and…. Piccolo and Vegeta alone as a team. A lot of stuff we have not seen in DB.
So does Nahare mean anything like the other supreme Kais?
Bruh Goku using his abilities in a what if scenario instead of fighting is great, cuz we all wished we had those abilities to do what Goku just did (be get away unnoticed) 😅😂
You know what would make Vegeta look cool in Diama? If he picked up and learned to use a weapon in the Demon Realm just for the hell of it. (Pun Intended).
Didn't mention it in the discussion video but I don't think there's a connection specifically between Namekians and Glinds. The similarities in their architecture and technology can be simply explained by the fact both races come from demon realm.
I'm calling it arinsu is cooking a majin buu like demon collecting energy with those collars
Vegeta fan service is just icing on the Daima cake 🎉
My biggest problem is that Daima carries on the trend of the protagonists starting off way more powerful than everyone. The joy of original Dragon Ball especially was the struggle and ongoing nemeses/mini bosses like General Blue.
I actually like it because it shows that just because the main cast is strong as hell, that doesn't mean all their issues will get resolved inmediately. They need the help of everyone they can befriend there.
I was excited to see Shin do something, Masako! 😁
I disagree, Vegeta is the only Z fighter who's been a Majin before, there's an opportunity to tie it all together
Now that you mention it, the first half really did fly by, I caught myself checking the time left on the episode when the intermission thingie came up
Yeah, this was definitely a fun one. And while I saw Panzy's collar getting broken off coming a mile away, in all honesty I was expecting Goku to just snap it off with his hands like it was made of tissue paper, but this works, too. I am also predicting that Goku will defeat the first Tamagami on his own and when they reach number two in the second demon world Vegeta will be all, "DIBS!!!" But we'll see.
Probably my favorite small detail in all of Daima so far. Whatever the collars are made of, is the exact same giant block Gohan tried to cut through with the sword (and it broke on)
Nobody talking about Goku saying that he wasn't involved in raising his kids?
Is this where vegeta realises how much he is in fact love with Bulma which leads to his arc going into super when beerus strikes her. That's the moment that tips him over the edge whereas in this series he actually starts to feel the love 😊
Why do I feel like they will have extended origin to the Mafuba technique, and reveal it originated FROM the demon realm as a different technique entirely.
Like maybe it originally could be used to remove the soul out of the target as a more evil technique, and Master Mutaito improved it to fully contain someone.
With all this new Lore I can not wait to see all the What If stories we will get. Shin is one of the members of the gang that wasn't part of all the fun.
Hey first off I'm a huge fan of your content and I have a what if that could be intriguing.... What if Elder KIA did the hidden power unlock to SSJ4 GOKU and Vegeta
I hope one day we get another Dragon Ball Mini Series that takes place after Daima and explores the lore that hasn't been seen on screen before and expands on smaller characters like this series has done with Supreme Kai. Plus this series has just been so focused and consistent. It would have to be headed by someone great though who really knows their stuff.
Long as they don’t retcon stuff that didn’t need it I agree.
@ I don’t mind if they Retcon Super personally but I’m not hoping they go out of their way to do so. I don’t consider these the same timeline.
love shin actually getting to fight(already doing more than super/z besides his introduction.)/having more character here knowing when to fully step in with his duty and glorio's fighting style.
really enjoy the world building, bulma's(man it's weird seeing this happens before super though for vegeta tbh hope it just retcon's him from it making him more closer to end of z) funny reaction sniffing the exploding volcano, glorio warming up to the group, those dumplings filling goku up(now i just want goku to at some point to scarf them down.) & the buildup to the tagima(love it just going "WHAT!?" to goku saying hi and goku eating to get energy ready for his fight.) getting more streamlined with action through the 3 realms having goku be secondary but not pandering like gt(where everyone was forgotten, wasted or just useless bad like pan.) actually being there for his friends knowing they can handle it.
I'm just glad we finally got to a destination important to the plot.
I'm sorry but it this series ends up being around 20 episodes, a quarter spent on lore building (which is fine) but also distractions along the way is just too much.
But it's not because I want to rush into the good fights or anything, I just don't want everything to be crammed into the last few episodes just because we spent too long building things up instead.
Who knows though, maybe there's 25-29 episodes and everything will be fine.
Anyways besides all that,
I'm really glad Shin had some well deserved spotlight. Honestly was starting to feel a bit frustrated that his only role so far has been to keep an eye on Glorio. I'm honestly more impressed with him breaking the collar than him fighting.
Im hoping that this demon realm got the most episodes because it needed to establish a lot of stuff and that the other two tatagami are taken down in 3-5 episode in the other realms so that we can get a good 5-10 episodes for the "ending" section.
@@VoraciousHeart that would be nice. I don't necessarily wanna rush through the next demon realms but I also don't wanna everything to be solved and wrapped up in 1-2 episodes either at the end.
I thought his name would end in -su, like his siblings and Gowasu and Zamasu.
Those might not be their real names either. From what we've seen so far, Kai's are a secretive bunch.
4:30 do I need to watch sandland or is it is own thing?
PS if I don’t need to watch is ot any good?
@albydragondono Sandland isn't connected to Daima, it seems to be a different universe to Dragonball. The only similarity is that the King of these Demons resembles Dabura. It has a similar adventure-comedy vibe as Daima too, and some action, and I thought it was pretty good. It's only 13 episodes I think, so it's not a long watch, and the CGI animation used isn't distracting, it's on par with the animation of DBS: Super Hero.
Wild idea but: What if Devilman was a Z-fighter?
What happened to the r&r animations
Glorio says you have to fight tamagami 1v1 so don't think Vegeta will be helping, unfortunately! Though a fusion will surely be in order eventually!
Vegeta might call dibs on Tamagami 2
Like how they take turns with Frieza and Broly
It might be even more awesome is after being defeated, the tamagamis are still tasked with protecting the dragon ball and join the adventure.
I am surprised that you didn't mention that part when Goku admitted to being a bad father. I think that moment would have been a perfect moment for some sort of Dragon Ball Daima Abridged shinanagins.
I mean he said he wasnt involved much which is more true for Goten then Gohan and that was mostly out of his control so not quite what he said.
I was just happy we finally got a fight that wasn't Goku just beating people down for once, I get why GT and Super relied on it so much but I can only take so much of Goku defeating the enemy before it gets tiring.
If Saiyan does have something to do with demon realm then its probably why Vegeta tagging along too beside just providng another muscle to the team.
Shin being useful is very much a surprise but not an unwelcome one. Dude got dealt a bad hand dealing with buu
I wonder if Vegeta's angle will be us finally being reminded that wait, he's *royalty*. He might actually show it for once when dealing with demon world royalty, instead of just the random declarations of it every now and then. I doubt it, but it's possible.
This gives a lot more Respect to Shin that's for sure! I'm just glad he Finally graduated from being The "Supreme" Exposition/Audience Proxy Guy. Well Vegeta could be involved in matter of Royal Responsibility when it comes to each world's demon king like Patsy's Dad
Daima is pretty solid and people have to nitpick which is nice
What if the great ape is a curse from the demon realm. And Vegeta is able to learn more about his saiyan heritage?
Fight together? They said it had to be 1v1
Toei, shueisha and Toriyama slowly making GT canon with suplemental lore from Daima and Super but only in remaster of GT like Dbz kai.
Soon I'll be shaving off my mustache.....
👍🏿
Yeah starting to feel that the fusion will involve the Supreme Kai and Goku, and possibly vegeta.
Maybe that stone Bulma had Goku get for the time machine in DBS is the same (or similar) element that Shin's ship needed.
I think the Tamagomi are the dragon balls, like they can’t function without them
1. What if Launch trained like Tien?
i guess that force power like thing is his main magic he has
bUT MaSAKo, the story and pacing go hand in hand
The Kaioshin show ft Some Mortals and Demons
As cool as Daima is... What I am really looking forward to is Masako's what ifs afterwards! What if goku was raised by King Kadam?
Hi masako I was waiting for this! First to comment!
hybis is my favourite daima character so far
After 7 episodes i give Daima barely 6. Its slow, has uninteresting characters, lame designs and the whole story so far has been boring. Oh and the action has no tension. The only plus is the animation. Hopefully the last 13 episodes will be better.
The pacing is perfect. Why does it have to be mentioned every episode?
I keep getting a video saying that episode seven proves dragon ball is for predators, anyone else getting seeing it or is it just me for some reason?
nice
What if the Supreme Kai raised Goku?
MASAKOX THE GLIN PLANET IS CALLED KAISHIN WHAT DOES IT MEAN? :O IT IS STILL GOD CONNECTED?
I didn’t think the pacing in this episode was nearly as bad as the first three imo
