Disney and Pixar may have amazing villains! But I always enjoy villains from non-Disney and Pixar films as well because even they have potential and good quality as antagonists!!!
Jimmy Crystal from "Sing 2" is one of my personal favorite non-Disney animated movie villains in recent years, since he's an entertainment business owner who wants every musical show to be exactly the way he wants or not at all, and he even goes so far as to try to kill Buster Moon by literally throwing him off a building, especially after Buster decides to give Mr. Crystal's daughter, Porsha, a different role in his musical. Not only that, but he also appears to be rather neglectful towards his daughter throughout much of the movie, and it was pretty satisfying seeing Porsha practically talk back to him during her performance in the movie's climax.
Mrs. Tweedy is one of my favorite villains because she's a very realistic one and also the way Miranda Richardson plays her still makes me scared to this day.
Death from the last wish should've been 1 in my personal opinion... IF you ever do animated TV villains, Silco from arcane is a perfectly written villain who needs to be high in the list
I would have added Unicron from The Transformers: The Movie. Any being who demonstrates dominance by making one of the greatest villains in all animation submit without lifting a finger deserves recognition. Orson Welles as Unicron is so menacing and grandiose.
Nice to know that shen is on the list. Gary Oldman‘s performance is starstellar, plus I heard that he’s gonna be retiring soon so I consider this one of his best roles.
Pretty cool list. Beldam is really scary. Awesome you put Rameses as number 1 :) He's great character and villain. He really loved Moses but he's also narrow minded,prideful and stubborn,keeping failing traditions. It's both sad and epic what happened between him and Moses
I would say that Preminger from Barbie princess and the pauper is an awesome villain too. Incredible voice work by Martin short especially in his excellent song “how can I refuse”, great manipulator with an unforgettable presence in the story, and just an all around fun villain that I hate to love and love to hate
Animation villains from the 1999 and earlier were the best villains ever. Before everything started being censored and villains ended up becoming not as scary. Some of those scenes in kids movies with villains killing and strangling etc in Animation, you hardly see that kind of stuff nowadays. Only a few have kept that style but most are now nowhere near frightening as they use to be. Honestly it's kind of stupid they have done that. Even though this list was fairly solid, and had some pretty good choices in there, I wish you guys included Tai Lung, Jack Horner, Death, Tighten, Goldilocks, and Bowser,
Okay, Death is by far one of my most favorite Dreamworks villains. He’s just so cool, and he kinda reminds me of a character from one of my dreams… (Also, I totally expected his voice to be deeper an creepier lol)
I would say the Evil M from Arthur and the Invisibles although he is intimidating, he is also shown to be comedic and best of all, he's played by the Late David Bowie.
The thing about Hexxus is that he's a necessary evil. He is the spirit of destruction who originally rose from a volcano, but without destruction there cannot be creation. It can be argued that in his devastation in the opening narration, the jungle grew back stronger for it. And if you listen to the full version of his song, you just might want to destroy nature rather than save it.
Honorable Mentions that should have been: Kent Mansley Messner (Mass Effect: Paraogn Lost) Loc-Nar (Heavy Metal) And the best animated villain not from Disney or Pixar is.... Dio Brando!
Pitch Black is one of my favorite animated villains of all time, and I would have put him higher on this list but other than that great job WatchMojo. 😃
WatchMojo: The Other Mother is nightmare fuel cranked up to 11. Me: No kidding! The movie amplifies what Niel Giaman's novel envisioned. Even the dolls and spider like appearance just makes her more menacing.
I'm sure y'all have done anime villains already, but if you revisit it, if you haven't already, a few that would be nice to see would be Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki | If you can call this a villain, the curse from Another | and, even if she is the main protag/antag, Satou Matsuzaka from Happy Sugar Life. Yuno because she has skills for killing and even manipulates time lines to always be with the one she loves, the curse because it literally kills an entire class, and Satou because, even if she does what she does out of love, she is still technically a murderer, blackmailer, and kidnapper, though arguably her aunt is worst
Dream works has just been creating amazing villains that are just very rememberable. Lord Shen, Drago, and even Pitch Black. And the Beldam I don’t like that she’s number two. But still it’s pretty damn high. This was perfectly and carefully chosen. I like how they had Death From Puss in Boots On the video but not as a category candidate. My theory on that is it’s just he’s to New and where would you actually place him. It’s just a lot of stories and movies and even TV shows have brought up this type of face-off between a hero and Death himself. So what makes this one better than the rest of done it

Hexxus and The Other Mother are my favorites on this list. Although every villian was great.
Glad the Prince of Egypt gets some recognition, that movie is a masterpiece, and you really ended up feeling bad for Ramses at the end of the day
Honorable Mentions:
* Nigel - "Rio" (2011)
* Jimmy Crystal - "Sing 2" (2021)
* Lord Farquaad - "Shrek" (2001)
* Galvatron & Unicron - "Transformers: The Movie" (1986)
* Warren T. Rat - "An American Tail" (1986)
I would include General Woundwort from Watership down. Absolutely terrifying character. He gave me nightmares as a child.
Top 20 Greatest Superman Villains of All Time!
The Ghost Soldier
3:59 Why does she sound like Mrs. Fratelli from The Goonies?
Even though this list was fairly solid, and had some pretty good choices in there, I wish you guys included Tai Lung, Jack Horner, Death, Tighten, Goldilocks, and Bowser,
Okay, Death is by far one of my most favorite Dreamworks villains. He’s just so cool, and he kinda reminds me of a character from one of my dreams… (Also, I totally expected his voice to be deeper an creepier lol)
Coraline 2009 was a big success, among both children and adults alike. While adults are usually more Creeped out than children while watching it.
It really shouts "creepy" which is actually really important in an animated film if you ask me.
Agreed that the Kung Fu Panda franchise has given us (so far) 3 compelling villains. But yes absolutely the top of the heap is Lord Shen!
I consider Gru to be more of an Antihero than a villain.
Seeing rattle snake jake being the biggest segmate of the video is awesomeness
Honorable Mentions that should have been:
Kent Mansley
Messner (Mass Effect: Paraogn Lost)
Loc-Nar (Heavy Metal)
And the best animated villain not from Disney or Pixar is.... Dio Brando!
Man I think me and my sisters watched Ferngully at least 100 times growing up. Holy sh*t. Thanks WatchMojo for sparking that memory in my mind 🥹
Rattlesnake Jake was legitimately so unexpectedly dark for a kids movie
Antz is pretty underrated. It’s was one of the more hardcore PG rated animated movies before PG rated animated movies started to get nerfed.
Please do a list for saddest deaths in animated movies outside of Disney or Pixar!

Darla and Thrax are fantastic. How about Ommadon from Flight of Dragons? One of James Earle Jones' best VA roles
Ditto. I love that movie.
I remember Ommadon very well. He even became twice as creepy, when he transformed into a many headed monster.
Kent Mansley - The Iron Giant, his actions turned The Peaceful giant into a weapon, & nearly got an entire town Nuked.
Fingers crossed if you say the non Disney Villains in my head that I’m thinking of
I'm sure y'all have done anime villains already, but if you revisit it, if you haven't already, a few that would be nice to see would be Yuno Gasai from Mirai Nikki | If you can call this a villain, the curse from Another | and, even if she is the main protag/antag, Satou Matsuzaka from Happy Sugar Life. Yuno because she has skills for killing and even manipulates time lines to always be with the one she loves, the curse because it literally kills an entire class, and Satou because, even if she does what she does out of love, she is still technically a murderer, blackmailer, and kidnapper, though arguably her aunt is worst
What about General Woundwort from Watership Down?
Dream works has just been creating amazing villains that are just very rememberable. Lord Shen, Drago, and even Pitch Black.
And the Beldam I don’t like that she’s number two. But still it’s pretty damn high. This was perfectly and carefully chosen. I like how they had Death From Puss in Boots On the video but not as a category candidate. My theory on that is it’s just he’s to New and where would you actually place him. It’s just a lot of stories and movies and even TV shows have brought up this type of face-off between a hero and Death himself. So what makes this one better than the rest of done it

2: Kent Mansley (The Iron Giant)
3: Bebe's Kids (Bebe's Kids)
Personally I’d rearrange some of these a bit. I would have liked to see Eris. Also, WHY IS DEATH NOT ON HERE!?
In terms of staying true to Kung Fu, probably Tai lung. But Shen was significantly harder to beat.
I'd like to see a list for most powerful villains in animated shows
8:29 I think he’s meant to represent what Stoic could’ve been like if he didn’t stop his dragon rampage
I would love to see Mrs. Tweedy get even worse by turning humans (including her own husband) into meat pies and selling them.
Fun Fact: Glenn Close and Kathleen Turner were meant to voice Mrs. Tweedy but Miranda Richardson got to voice the villainess
the Stop-Motion Pinocchio took place in Fascist Italy. so there were people like Podesta during that time who's name wasn't Benito Mussolini.
8:41 Wait a minute, since when did anti-heroes count?!
Rameses definitely belongs at the top of this list!!
The Grinch should be an honorable mention at least
Honorable mentions, that's if you include more mature animated movies:
1. Loc-Nar (Heavy Metal)
2. General Woundwort (Watership Down)
3. Douche (Sausage Party)
