    If eggs start to turn a yellowish color after a few days after being laid during incubation, is this normal? They aren't a stark yellow, but a light white/yellowish color. I did candle them and found what looks like a small embryo in one of them, but the other one is harder to tell. Also, what do you do if the eggs are stuck together? I tried to pull them apart but they were already dried. Also, I feel as though I may have damaged some of the membrane of one of the eggs slightly trying to pull them apart. Could this affect the chances of the egg fertility? Is there a chance for this egg to still hatch? Also, is there a safe way to separate them to prevent any problems from occurring from one hatching before the other or any other problems related to eggs that are stuck together?

      Yeah I had 2 eggs stuck together once laid outside of the humid box, I put little drops of warm water on the stuck parts of the egg to gently get it to separate, you can just incubate them together as well, or try the warm water method but either way, you just dont want the eggs sitting in water too long so only use small drops if you ever try that method :) Good luck and TY for your comments! :D :D

    I wish this video was out 5 years ago. I’ve had eggs that looked infertile but hatched. I got out the leopard gecko breeding game because I became overwhelmed and had way to many. I started giving away white and yellow tremper albinos, raptors and tangerines. My last hatchling was a white and yellow tremper albino sunglow raptor male. Never thought I would have got that morph, 1 out of 1000.

Ive tryied to put to male in again but the female freaks out and fights him back. Any tipps/help? (Sorry for bad english)

      Hi! TY so much for ur kind words. I looked at the video. He does look like a super hypo albino, there are 3 lines of albino: Tremper(most common), Bell (2nd most), and Rainwater. There really isnt a way to tell which line he comes from if you dont know his parents genetic info, but if his eyes are all "black" my question to you would be, is it possible his eyes are all "ruby red" look at them in the light and see if the whole eye reflects a dark red, usually Albinos will not have black eyes, but they can be such a dark red it almost looks black. Let me know and we can continue to ID him from there. but he does look like a Super hypo albino, and if his eyes are all ruby red then hes also eclipse :) PS feel free to email me more photos of his eyes directly or message me on messenger :)

    • @GeekyGeckoCreations
      @GeekyGeckoCreations  3 года назад +2

      Hello, and thank you for your question! I incubate ALL eggs until the prove bad in the incubator. I do this because you never know, some reptiles are known to have fertile eggs even without a male present, this is extremely rare but has and can happen. If you do not care to try and hatch teh baby simply throw the eggs away, without humidty, and accurate temperatures the eggs all die after a couple days so you dont ahve to worry about a gecko hatching out from an egg you threw away you know? If you want to be sure you can take the egg outside and crush it but most people are ok with just throwing the egg away if they dont want it. So as long as the female is ovulating they should pair within 5 minutes. If they dont, then i pull the male and retry a different day. Do you know how to check for ovulation? This is important because geckos usually only breeed during ovulation which happens once a year for the course of about 5 months. That is the window you have to breed your females. That being said, if you dont know how to check for ovulation, check out my ovulation video it will help alot! :) also if you just simply want to pair the male and female together, as long as they each have their own spots to retreat to, and the tank is 10 gallons or larger, you can leave the male in there for overnight I would say So drop him in at 8pm or so, and then remove him by the next morning. Of course you wont know if they bred until the female shows gravid eggs inside her tummy, so this method is hard to know when she is going to lay. Check out this video and tell me what you think and any other questions you have. :)

    I have three eggs in my incubator right now; one was laid 4 weeks ago and I just collected two this morning from the same pairing (W&Y Mack Snow Tremper male to Tremper Sunglow with blood morph lines) and all are yellow. The thing is, the 4 week-old egg has not dented, and it looks really normal but when I candle it I don't see anything. I see that some of your recent eggs appeared yellow but then have visible growth by two weeks. When is a time to toss eggs out if they don't look good? Thank you!

    • @GeekyGeckoCreations

      I actually wait a LONG time and toss the eggs maybe 2 weeks after the clutch mate hatches. Or two weeks after what their DUE date was. So if their due date was 60 days later I would toss them on the 80th day or so if i still see no growth, this is probally overkill but i like to give life a chance! haha

    This is such a good video for leopard gecko breeders. I don't have a leopard gecko, but I do plan on getting a bearded dragon soon and I know from research that they are able to lay parthenogenic clutches, in other words, no contact with a male whatsoever in their life and then, for whatever reason, they will lay a clutch of fertile eggs. I am not planning to breed my bearded dragon, as I don't have the space for 2 adults + babies. At max, I have room for 1 adult + babies. But, if the bearded dragon I get is a female, I will check at these times, possibly more, for fertility before deciding to freeze them or not:
    Freshly laid(although, I have heard that you can't tell when they are freshly laid whether or not they are fertile)
    3-4 days after being laid
    2 weeks after being laid
    If I know that the egg was yellow at 3-4 days after being laid and it still looks completely yellow at 2 weeks, I will freeze and then dispose of it, as it's not going to hatch. If on the other hand, I see more and more red at 2 weeks, I'll keep it in there. Since I'd be heating my closet anyway by just a little bit to get my feeder insects into breeding mode(from like 70 degree or so room temperature to 80 degrees where the insects are going to be), I figured that I could just find where the temperature reaches 85 degrees and keep the eggs there in a heated room instead of bothering with an incubator. That covers temperature and then it would just be a matter of checking for humidity and embryonic development.
    Since the only way I'd get multiple ovulations in a season is if either she is naturally a multiple ovulator(there are bearded dragons like that that ovulate 2 to 3 times a year regardless of breeding) or she was bred by her previous owner and retained sperm, hopefully, I only get 1 parthenogenic clutch in a year and not multiple if I get a parthenogenic clutch at all. Hopefully, I don't even have to deal with 2 or 3 ovulations in a year, but you know what? I am prepared for anything ovulation and incubation related, so if it happens, I will know what to do.

      @@trisha2286 and the container had water in it or no because hatch right doesnt require water correct? Are you sure ur male and female bred?

      usually denting means infertile OR too dry. I dont use any holes in my egg containers when in incubator. U did a good job having an thermometer on top of the container, what temps were u incubating as well? PS - sometimes girls jsut lay bad eggs and its not ur fault, but i want to help you diagnose this to see if impovmentes could be made

      @@GeekyGeckoCreations I'm pretty sure they locked on two separate ocassions. Temp were 79-80 range. I have a Male and female black nights that Ive only paired with each other. It's the female's first season (probably a factor?)
