I don't get how people can lecture the Japanese commenters the way they are when a significant amount of the Japanese commenters are outright complaining about the main character. Weren't some of these supporters the same people that criticized GoT one way or another despite being universally praised by the Japanese community? Just boggles the mind.
Kinda funny when people and the claimed to be "Japanese" people at ONLINE get upset about Yasuke depiction as a samurai when there are books such as "Kuro-suke", authored by a native Japanese Kurusu Yoshio that was published in 1968 or "Yasuke: The True Story of the Legendary African Samurai" published in 2019, authored by Thomas Lockley, an Associate Professor at Nihon University College of Law in Tokyo, where he teaches courses about the international and multicultural history of Japan and East Asia along with Geoffrey Girard, also an author and teaches about nonfiction, thrillers, historicals, and speculative fiction. Animes such as "Yasuke", a Japanese-American original net animation (ONA) series and animated by Japanese own animation studio MAPPA aired in 2021. Or games such as "Nioh 2" or "Samurai Warriors 5" developed by Japanese own Koei Tecma and released in 2020 and 2021 respectably; In which ALL of them depicted Yasuke as a Samurai either as an MC, secondary character or NPC and was released BEFORE AC Shadows but NOBODY get upset about those materials at all... 😅😅😅
There's is a representative for Japan in AC Shadows, and her name is Naoe, the other main character, a fictional Ninjutsu character that has a father who is actually a real historical person.
If AC Shadow considered as "wokeness" Or even "racist", then I can say the same thing about AC Black Flag. Can I? Because the Caribbean is home to an extraordinary mix of cultures, unique history and heritage since the area has islands, coast lines and would be countries spread around it. There are many real life person or even legendary ones who are originated and operated in those area.
We could have a man who called himself Black Caesar as the main character, a pirate captain who occasionally ran with Blackbeard, or Henri Caesar, a Haitian pirate captain who raided small villages and lone vessels near Cuba and the Bahamas along with Spanish ships for nearly a decade.
And then there's Diego el Mulato Martín, a former slave from Havana, Cuba, who picked up pirate's trade and terrorized the Gulf of Mexico in the 1630s.
Why not Andresote? The son of an indigenous mother and African father and the leader of some runaway slaves and Indians; who plundered, murdered along the coast of Venezuela and beyond during the era of Spanish colonial slavery.
Diego Grillo, a pirate made his base on Tortuga, an island near Haiti, who once made an engagement in the Old Bahama Channel where he defeated three armed ships that attempted to capture him and killed all the Spaniards in the crew.
Maybe Peter Cloise, a former slave, became a pirate after Edward Davis took him from his owner in 1679. They became close friends and went pirating in the Caribbean and along South America’s Pacific coast?
But instead we get a white guy name Edward Kenway. Why a pure construct character? And I didn't saw people or even the Carribeans ruffled their feathers when Ubisoft introduced Edward Kenway as the main protagonist in AC Black Flag way back in 2013...
And here I thought AC is a series that painted itself as FICTIONAL action/role playing game based on historical events from the get go.
🤡☝️
@@gustialdi584 Wikipedia, most probably is your source.
@@gustialdi584So the idea of him being an actual samurai was a modern invention. The earliest record of him being refered to as a samurai was at 1968. 😂
@@gustialdi584 we started this series with an Arab MC nobody had a problem with it, we got Native American MC, we got Greek MC, we got another Arab MC, we got an MC from ancient Egypt etc etc nobody had any problem with that. we had female MCs too nobody got any problems with it too, i played with Kassandra and it wasn't a problem.
you know why? because it wasn't a propaganda, entire gaming industry is in chaos these days, every gamer knows some kinda propaganda going on within video games, Ubisoft's latest star wars trailer also disliked to hell because of that very reason and what are Ubisoft doing? releasing another propaganda.... the problem is not Yasuke the problem is the intention.
they could've just make a Japanese MC for this game and try to show us that there are no injecting "the message" in video games and all of these are conspiracy theories but ofc they went full ham and not only made yasuke a samurai(which he wasn't) but they also tried to change the wikipedia of him so they can fit him to their narrative.
unlike you, gamers around the world seeing what are you trying to do, stop trying to change history.
“Not a lot is known about him so we are just gonna make stuff up to suit our DEI overlords” -out of touch Ubisoft executive
Don't forget Baby Inc.
Assuming Ubisoft wanted a girl-boss and more diversity.
I am little surprised they haven’t specified each characters’ partner relationship. Maybe we’ll find out about Yasuke’s “special” friendship with Oda Nobunaga. 😅
Ubisoft Quebec really looked at their reputation from Odyssey and said, "LOWER!"
Odyssey sold a lot of copies though. Did made them money.
From a staff photo I've seen of the Ubisoft Quebec office, it looks entirely staffed with woke white women, the same demographic most likely to be mentally ill.
@@DuckyPatoz It also completely broke the franchise, trust in the franchise and the reputation of Ubisoft Quebec. So you know...
Odyssey was very fun if you like the Hellenic era like me. But I'm not interested in assassin creed.
The only reason I started to play because I wanted to see what they did with Athen and I put at least 200 hour in that game.
I'm happy they made that game.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Assassin's Creed games typically have you play an original main character that happens to interact with said historical figures, not the historical figures being MCs themselves?
and funny how it takes over 20 years of service and training to become a Samori he was there for 3 years
apparently it was only 18 months
He didnt even have a sword just the short blade, they used for seppuku, plus theres a picture of him holding an umbrella over his lord , if even a shogun ordered a samurai to do that , he would demand seppuku instead, and the shogun would have no right to stop him
@@rphilipsgeekery4589stop making stuff up.
@@margapickni7075 Bruh he is right.
Fun fact: Battlefield V ended up underselling and Patrick Soderland, the same suit that virtue signaled for female soldiers, left DICE afterwards.
And it is well deserved.
nowadays a crap company producing crap products...they deserve to go broke on this
I think this will be the next AAAAA game to follow up on Ubisofts smash success AAAA Skull and Bones.
I think nit wold have been WAY better for Him to be one s of the people you meet along the way and have on our team... Anyone else think that would have been better??? and have a AUTHENTIC Japanese Samori
Shocking that people don't like pandering. Don't they know that's wrong-think?
Samurai’s training their whole life’s
Ubisoft :hey let’s choose the guy with little to no history !
The writer can’t even pronounce Yasuke correctly. How is this woman qualified to write this story?
Doesn't matter. Unless people stop buying these games, they wouldn't care about the backlash or outrage.
So don't buy it. I know I m not buying this one.
Using Ekin Cheng as protagonist is also a crime. 😁
Good news. 👏
I felt AC origins and odyssey Were trying to blend in what the Witcher was doing at the time. Witcher three was such a huge success for CD Project red that I felt ubi tried to capitalize that market by converting their AC titles to that genre
doesnt really matter if the preorders are still high
i have no problem with a black samurai he looks badass an im a big fan of afro samurai and its based on Yasuke. people are more mad about first ac game in japan not Asian. an Asians are mad about the culture appropriation. this is pretty much what netflix did to cleopatra
Make a video about how AC shadows became #1 best selling game on Amazon in Japan ... I wanna hear a new conspiracy theory cause this one is getting old
I don't get why people like these games.
My initial liking for it due to "Stealth" and I'm a huge fan of Tenchu series. And after Tenchu, AC was the only series that holds a satisfying elements of "Stealth".
But having said that, I owned nearly all series of AC except the Syndicate but I never finished any of them since Ezio series.
My Origins still about 30% done. with Odyssea around 60% while Valhala is around 10%. Black Flag, I never made it pass the first 5mins. Mirage sparks a bit of old flame but seeing the endless side missions, I became so bored with it that I haven't touch it for almost a year now and I was only at 25-30% or so.
I couldn't finished any of these because they get so boring and Actions as the Irish put it... Shite!@
They invested hundreds of millions into these game, they couldn't come up with a more interest combat system?
If AC have battle system anywhere near Lies of P or even Sekiro... that would be INSANE!!!
But come on??? The super assassins, half of the time can't outrun the Thieves. Have 3 combat moves, that's it. And even with latest version, can't even kill any Captains until much later in the games where you level up. And they add so much elements into their arrow... to the point where it doesn't make sense... and half of the time you're left wondering... if such weapon such? Which can break your immersion from the game.
I’m still playing it 😂I’m excited
Good hope it's worth the wait, don't let people tell you what you can and can't do especially people like this who don't know anything about the history.
Mayonnaise anger
As for the story they changed it just need their DNA to relive their life even if the DNA comes from a skeleton.
Easy pass with ubislop.
I think that they still believe that their sales will be just fine. (And maybe they will, but I doubt it)
But the problem is that for a while gamers are patient and hopeful, so they'll buy even games that are worse than their predecessors.
After a while everyone's patience runs out and for me it's this game. No ubi soft game for me until they change their ways.
I don't wanna here no more whining when this outsell Ghost of Tsushima because it will
Ubisoft, a typically highly woke French company. Not too shocked really.
WE WUZ SHADOWS AN SHEEITTT CUUHHHH
my big issue with assassin's creed origins. is to me in game, looks like african, but even worse. voiced by an british african.
[illegal comment]
Hopefully the gameplay is as good as the trailer, can't wait to try it.
But if they had Adam's in the game the "fans" would be loving it.Although all the "fans" and "gamers" will be buying this game😅😅
good, the disrespect the AC series has for Japanese people is crazy

Imaging seeing those 200k likes and go least were going to have 200k customers right? Right? Not just the woke mob liking and not buying the game.
Of course you have the fanboys, causals, and just plain brain-off consumers.
some good news. hehe.
Go woke go broke you chose your path Ubisoft by joining the leftists in Sweet Baby inc. I wanted to like a Assassins Creed in Japan. Me the dislike is 2 parts costs too much for full game and too woke for my taste.
Yet look at pre orders in Japan.
The numbers that sony or ubi or any journalist publishes means jack shit until real numbers come out when the game releases!, of course ac has it's loyal fan base that expands to quite a large number and those will pay and play it never the mind what kind of game they publish... like for example cod, battlefield. fifa so on every year same game but loyal fans still buy it, same here. same case but overall the dislike towards this WOKE propaganda is just gonna rise not only in gaming industry but on forth. as it should...
@@CroBroGameryou don’t realise that you and your community are the small minority. Normal people do not have a problem with this. The world is moving on from entitlement.
@@margapickni7075 small minority? What are you on about? Yeah normal people would never stand for this modern leftist bullcrap... Look how it backclashed with Cleopatra and Rings of Power for example... WHO CARES, live your lifes as you see fit... Just leave us alone, just leave the rest alone... It's tiring... Don't get me started on blackwashing that's been happening quite a lot since the start of this century....
the silent majority has voted with their wallet and the verdict is out. AC shadows is #1 in sales, even in Japan
The Japanese haven't been silent they have been mocking and laughing at those who have been crying and getting upset over AC Shadows
Not surprised about the level of dislike for this game everyone knows how alive and well racism is.
Racism against who? The Japanese?
@COUNTVLAIDMIR how would you feel if the developers say "we want our own non japanese samurai"
And make some bullshit up reason to not have an Japanese male OC.
Previous ac game has had the consistency of having an OC tied to the locations and culture
@@COUNTVLAIDMIR Right , because you don't have a Japanese character you can play as..oh wait you do , but...she does not count , cause female.

It's whatever now. A bit overblown, but I don't see this doing well in sales. I mean you have Rise of Ronin, Ghost of Tsushima, Sekiro, and others. They should have done a different location.
It is well deserved. Screw ubisoft and the woke ideologues in their midst.
