In my opinion, you are one of the best scale modelers out here in U-tube land, especially in this scale. There or others equally as talented but they usually build in the larger scales. I must have watched this video series on the B-17 at least thirty times and still enjoy it as much as the first time. For instance you are the only person whom I've ever seen make up and install the insulation or the throttle levers in this scale. Your work with th flap detail was a sight to behold. Thank you. I wish it were mine or that I could turn out one as beautiful as the B-17 is my favorite aircraft of all time, PERIOD. Happy modeling.
+p40f20 Thanks. Today is a too late and I am still cutting second part. Tomorrow I will add some notes to this video. However I use Milliput it is clay. I used it for Oxygen bottles and some lining in radio operator room.
What attention you have to detail. Great job the G version was added because of the head on attacks by Germans. It helped somewhat but the head on attacks continued. My Uncle flew the B17F in WWII. His story is on RUclips as well. “3 Days in May 1943”. Thanks for displaying your skills.
thats fantastic, i have to recommend the tamiya 1/32 spitfire mk 9 with removable engine cowling, all using magnets and changeable gear, one of my favorite kits i have built, a fantastic kit with great detail. i have just finished this same b17 kit, you are certainly doing a better job than me
+LaPanteraRosa2013 I expected a little better result and more details but after closing fuselage everything will be covered. So I made only few modifications.
Just a bit of knowledge I'd like to share with you on aircraft construction both present and past. Never and I mean never is aluminum left "raw". It's always coated with something. Typically the interior is "green" (aircraft primer) and if the exterior is "unpainted", it's still sealed with a clear lacquer or varnish. Aluminum doesn't rust, but oxidization to aluminum is just as damaging in the constantly changing environments that aircraft experience. That's why landing gear and landing gear bays are painted with titanium oxide (white), because of its excellent anti-corrosion attributes, especially over aluminum (it's kind of like zinc ingots on a ship. Except it corrodes at a ridiculously slow rate, unlike the zinc on ships that have to be replaced after only a few years the titanium oxide paint lasts for decades). Otherwise cool build. I'll have to use some of those detail materials and processes.
If you don't mind me asking, how much does your average build cost? I want to build a 1/72 kit as detailed as I can go with as many aftermarket and quality enhancers as I can but I'd like to know the price. Also, please join the community on Reddit at www.Reddit.com/r/ModelMakers or www.Reddit.com/r/72Scale.
Hi David, First of all congratulations to you! You work is amazing and your make me Think to Back to hobby after 20 years. I like to know what Kind material did you use at time 3:30 ( a Kind of Green epóxi?). Best regards.
Hi Plasmo dude. Question: @ 2:40 you set the oom and cut the 2 small nr7 parts. how do you clean the flashing and extra plasic up when they are so small? Cheers.Keep up the good work
Vic at Alton I really enjoy watching your videos the detail you achieve is incredible and I have to ask how long has it taken to reach your skill level?
Hola David saludos desde Venezuela, me gustaria saber donde ubicastes el esquema de remaches, para hacer tu modelo ya se que es en 72 pero me gustaria hacer el mio en 48 y los remaches le dan mucha vida al modelo. gracias
Hi David, if you have time I have another quick question concerning the rivets. Can you tell me what size "Rosie the Riveter" you used? I'm building (and videoing) Hasegawa's B-17G and thought I would try to add rivets!
Hello David. I am a modeller from India. Exports to India have been stopped of various companies, Eduard, Hasegawa, Revell, Hobby Boss, even Airfix. The models are very expensive on Amazon. I just wanted to know where you buy all your models from. Thanks!!!
David, can you tell me where to find the diagram with the rivet details you showed? I can't find that anywhere! Want to take a shot at riveting my Hasegawa B-17G. Thanks!
I would much rather hear you explaining what you are doing, than have all of this blaring music! It's a shame as you are able to speak in perfect English what you are doing and with humour too!! It's a pity you didn't do that on this video! Blessings to you my friend, you have many God given talents!

I was actually able to take a tour and crawl thru “909” a few years ago. The Collins foundation used to tour several aircraft including “909” around to the local airports. Never got to fly in it. Big loss for the foundation.

Yes! Likewise! You be inspired me to go buy a pz 35 t kit and a bunch of tools and dive back into it! Thank you so much David!
one of the few channels on youtube that really works for its videos and deserves it to gain money from its ads! :D

I appreciate the time you spent on these videos Especially the B 17th videos they helped me out a lot. Thank You
Hadn't realised this was here and in 3 parts. My fav aircraft. Great work, thank you :)
Mesmerizing to watch, whenever I need inspiration, it's you I turn to. Also, the music helps me when I'm in my toyroom, wonderful work sir.
Absolutely Incredible! I kept asking myself, what is he doing with that yellow clay! Wow!

I so have to try some of these techniques you've shared on the 48 scale B-17g model ( Revell) that I have in my stash
David you are a very talented artist - love watching your videos
I built this, got upset, and pretended that it had an "emergency" landing.
SorryRooster 21 my models are what would call “special”
Now think, you're the only one that did this
I have an Ltd kit but I’ve never built anything this big I’ve just built fighter jets so it’s gonna be scary😂
If you got upset at this one, you should go back to the original 1975 one, you'd put your head through a wall
Замечательное видео, спасибо большое!). У самого лежит такой же набор, скоро буду собирать
i really admire your work, amazing detailing !
some 35/40 years ago had the same hobby, but this isn;t hobby, this is art.................
thats fantastic, i have to recommend the tamiya 1/32 spitfire mk 9 with removable engine cowling, all using magnets and changeable gear, one of my favorite kits i have built, a fantastic kit with great detail.

konecneeeeeeeeeeee :) inac odporucam vyskusat farby Mr.Paint. su excelentne, ja som s nimi striekal moju B17
+A13tech Jo jsou super, ale strašně smrdí. Takže je to takový kompromis. Kvalita vs pohodlí.

Please where did you buy your kit , it has a lot and detailed manuals . The one I got has crappy manuals

Taran Manaktala you can buy off of Hannants.
Taran Manaktala
Strange that Airfix would stop shipping to India, their kits are manufactured in India
Mógłbyś dać chociaż polskie napisy do twoich filmów 😊
David, can you tell me where to find the diagram with the rivet details you showed? I can't find that anywhere! Want to take a shot at riveting my Hasegawa B-17G. Thanks!
It is very hard to find them and I do not have them anymore. You can use this one from link www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43536
Thank you once again David! You went out of your way to help me-something that is very rare these days. I am in your debt!
What are the clay items your showing at around 4:50-58 ?
It is the yellow half of "green stuff" to component modeling clay
What's that green stuff and what kind of sand paper do you use ?
This is the exact kit was the first model I ever made
bravo
Did you scrach build those parts out of green stuff?
Is there a vidéo with explanations ? I juste bought the same kit and stumble on your video
I'd like to send up some photo etched parts from eduard for a 1:48 b-17 and I dont know your po box address
What type of temporary glue do you use Mr. Damek?
im getting this model set for my birth day in 10 days
amazing
+Tablet Instalace thanks
Hi, what couloirs did you use for the interior/chromate green and do you have a precise ratio??
+chandler1390 Sorry, but I have not precise ratio. I used xf-4 Yellow Green + xf-71 Cockpit Green + xf-5 Flat Green.
What are the items that you made from the putty
Where do you buy the detail kits?
Can you tell the paints that you use?
i cant make the two body parts glued together no matter how hard i try i need advice
which color yellow did you use? should i use xf3 flat yellow or xf60 dark yellow?
xf60
What was the part with the pencil and the panel lines
What is the name of the first song?
What was that putty you were using?
Never mind it was answered below
hey PLASTIMO - plastic models are you good artist or not?
what is the green stuff and why did you use it?
Green Stuff is a putty that comes in two parts. It is great material for sculpting. I used it for fire extinguisher and some another detail.
I got the same model.. wish me luck lol
Good work. How long is 1/72 b17?
+musete10 wingspan 44 cm x length 32cm. One of my largest model until now.

Shame you couldn’t do the commentary.
Ur not explaining what ur doing & why or how, or what paint ur using...
Old video. You can try turn on annotations.

It's a shame as you are able to speak in perfect English what you are doing and with humour too!! It's a pity you didn't do that on this video!

Why did American bombers have giant letters on the wings and tails?
usaaf bombers in ww2 had letters on the wings and tails in order to quickly identify which base they were from. the bomber he made by the way was from the 91st bomb group from bassingbourn UK by the looks of it.
