UMKE: Always Ready

Within ISMEP, Turkey’s first risk mitigation project implemented by Istanbul Project Coordination Unit, communication and information technologies system that are necessary in case of a disaster were established and improved. Vehicles and equipments were supplied for the first responder institutions. Thus, the Turkish National Medical Rescue Teams (UMKE) and the Research and Rescue Unit of Istanbul AFAD were entitled to take the United Nation’s INSARAG certificate and started to give service in international standards.
