@@scott5860 well there isn’t a better match for the Range Rover. The GLE 63 S again got 100 hp more horsepower than the Range Rover. So it is what it is. And technically that engine is the direct competitor to the GLE 53 AMG. Because it’s the engine of the BMW X5 M50i and that’s the competitor of the GLE 53 AMG. So it is what it is.
Hoping RR got access to the s63 for the coming SV

@@SamCarLegion Ok, but then test the "real" AMG - the GLE 63S, which actually has the same MSRP as the P530 ($120k). In terms of price, it's much more comparable. In terms of performance, it has a published 0-60 of 3.7 sec, so it wouldn't even be close.
You’re not comparing current models, the Range Rover sport dynamic is the correct comparison

The worst part with new Land Rovers are the BMW engines! I have been a Land Rover driver for the last 10 years and love them mostly taking them off-road. 2-3 foot wheel lift is normal for me. The BMW motor are crap! The are fine motors for the first 30k-40k and after that the $2000-$4000 a year maintenance starts. Now I have been a Mercedes driver/owner for longer and maintenance on on all my other Mercedes is 1/5 to 1/4 of what BMW's engines are yearly. As much as I am not a BMW fan I will still buy a New RR Sport but will have to turn it over sooner.
Only way someone thinks this BMW motor is good is if you just drive the press fleet. If you live with those motors fast 2-3 years get ready to grab your ankles.

V6 vs V8?! The better comparison would be the GLE 580 (V8), which is faster than the GLE53 and the less powerful sibling of the GLE63.
