Oliver, I'm obviously wishing you continued success. I was totally bummed that Suffern, NY was canceled Not seeing you both. Big Bass Dreams is a mindset an a experience that keeps you wanting more. Which is totally DOPE. Tight lines my friend ☮💙🙏😎
If it wasn't for Oliver I wouldn't have discovered The Hook Up. I wouldn't have been smashing them on the screwhead/spark shad combo either. Major thanks to Oliver for opening the door and introducing me to The Hook Up Tackle.
So stoked to see this interview, Oliver Ngy completely changed how I looked at fishing. with out a doubt I have caught the biggest fish of my life due to his fishing philosophy and perspective, also turned me on to "The hook up tackle" as well. Keep up the good work!!
This has been my favorite technical video that the hook up is put out so far, there is a lot of parts that I could relate to in my last couple of years of swimbait fishing, and also I had some theories for my future Fishing fundamentals that you guys spoke on as well. Thanks so much for your time hookup crew!
This was special to get to hear someone with a career and basically spill the beans to everyone on what fishing really is. Thank you hookup y’all will be seeing my money soon!
Hey Ben, I wanted to let you know that I made my first purchase from Hook Up Tackle! I am heading to Florida later next week to fish Lake Okeechobee. I ordered the OSP Dolive Craws, Dolive Beavers, and four different colors of Megabass Hazedong Shad. I enjoy watching your product updates and your inter-store fishing competitions! Thank you for all the great advice and entertainment!
Oliver Ngy… super down to earth guy. Always enjoy hearing from him and seeing his content. Great video! My weakness is surely big baits (over 6”) so I love seeing content like this. Anything learned is a blessing. Thanks for the time and insight.
Finally took a bullshooter to the local high pressure pond really just to see it's action for a few casts. I only stuck 3, but saw tons follow or bump. Supper fun. Slightly awkward when everybody tossing worms until yah hook up.
Excited to see him improve upon last year’s results. It was disappointing seeing the big bait technique do so poorly. In addition, rooting for these West Coast guys (especially Matty Wong) to show the southern boys what’s up! Go get em O!
Technically it didn’t fail. He said it all year long he got the bites he needed, he just at times couldn’t execute the finishing product and putting them in the boat. He will slay like he always does. He’s a damn good angler not just big bait angler.
Love the conversation style vids as it is cool to hear the back and fourth breakdown of the baits, and as always, the hookup is the greatest tackle shop in all the land
Good conversation, Oliver is definitely one of my main guys introduced me to big baits. I've only been fishing larger swim baits almost 2 yrs now. I remember when I thought a 6" swimbait was big, I fished that size a year & now it seems relatively small that I've gained confidence fishing 8,9,10" baits past season. Caught some really good fish on big baits, just have to know when & where to throw them which I'm still learning. That is a never ending process! I don't only throw big baits but absolutely enjoy it & always have one tied on so I'm ready when I feel opportunity is present.
I think one very important tool was left out , forward facing sonar. The ability for the angler to watch behavior of the bass and the underwater presentations is key to success.
Great video so I have been fishing a big jig for a year and a half no and one thing that I have learned is your commitment and your mindset has to be right so when I am fishing my jig I know that I am not gonna get a lot of bites but I do know that the bites that I do get will be the right one and you have to be for that bite this season I want to start using some glide baits and swimbaits but I am all ways trying to think outside of the box and do something different I have learned don't worry about what people think or say just create your own lane and stay true to yourself
I live near table rock and I've never caught a fish on the 8in magdraft but I've caught a pile of giants on the 10inch. It makes no sense when the average bass in the lake is like 2 lb kentuckies. Very cool video ben and Oliver
Went there for the first time last week on my birthday. Bought some swimbaits and the new explorer gill guide and it’s crazy good! I went out last weekend too saguaro and had almost a 9 lbr follow it up
I am a swimbait fanatic! Iove any content involving swimbaits and I love to throw them all the time, ever since I got into it I've caught so many nice bass, I actually just caught my pb smallmouth on a magdraft 3 days ago. Thanks for the tips!
Why did the Levante rods go up to $249 from $199? I noticed the same thing on tackewarehouse as well. Did wholesale price go up or is it a shipping thing?
Just enrolled in Glidebaits Anonymous...serious addiction...need to buy 1 or 2 a month....what brand, lb. test do any of you use for big glides? 2 oz and up
My question for him, what is his follow up baits to when the big are interested but don’t commit ? Iv found that three baits tend to get immediate reactions, worm, jig, small paddle tail. The tournament situation is so hard to leave a fish like that.
I never believed those guys who always say who u gotta use this bait at this specific time and weather or clarity of water. Cause I proved all those theories wrong last year using baits in ways they weren't meant to be used or what most people wouldn't do with that bait and caught a bunch of fish. Never box urself in when it comes to the bigger baits. An always try new things but I have caught fish on swimbaits from 45 degree water to 80 degrees and from 3 feet of visibility to 10ft. They have worked in all those conditions at the right moment when those fish wanted it.
Awesome video guys! I love throwing big baits and listening about it! What are your favorite colors for big swim baits? Also will Oliver Ngy going to be at the Bass Master Classic this year???
You should call yourself "Olive Ngy the Swim Bait Guy." - you know, like Bill Nye the Science Guy... just saying. Thanks for the info. guys, great video.
I have caught big fish on glidebaits down to 34 degree water temps with ice forming around me, fish definitely don’t subscribe to any rules of when to throw what baits when:)
This interview should have been conducted with a big bait angler who has had success in tournaments like the BASS Opens. Oliver's record is pretty bad. His best finish is 99th!

It's simple. When I see Oliver talk big bait fishing, I listen.
This is how u interview someone. He only asked the important question for every type of fishin👏🏿👍🏿
"Listen to the fish" from Instagram brought me here. Great video! Oliver is the guy
By far the coolest conversation between the two of you. Full of knowledge and experience.

Swimbaits on multi-day tournaments and doing it well is ridiculously difficult. I give him a lot of credit. Hopefully 2022 is his year.
It's so tough.

I'm sure Oliver has a bunch of nice incidental bass and walleye throwing those musky baits in the north country

I would guess the TS Destroyer Blackjack.
Blackjack and Levante Leviathan
