This goes down a semitone in the chorus... I start on the right note at the beginning of the song and when I get to the chorus I'm suddenly singing a semitone higher than the instrumental.

Really? I didn't hear that at all, it came completely natural to me the first time. Maybe you're remembering the song differently?

Sorry to hear that! I assure you that the chorus and verse both begin on G. Unfortunately the software that I used has a wacky bass option, and the intonation is a bit off for the Fs. Might want to watch out for that.

The composition is based off chords of the song, so the mistakes are most likely because of your pitching.

Allison yeah coming back to this i still can't get the notes right when it switches from verse into chorus but it definitely doesn't sound like it's your fault. the rhythm of the backing and everything is perfect, and the chord progression is exactly the same sans the feel of a different key. it's probably the fault of the program you're using, as you said.
