@@starsecream Well when you look at Keanu skillset in the original Matrix to Reloaded, you would be surprised to Keanu improve to that high level of speed and technical ability in some of those fight scenes. Also the risk of a mistake or error by the real actor would be too high.
I created an entire video essay about Stahelski, dude has worked with so many legendary people in the industry the amount of experience he has garnered during his career is more than most.
Actually, he wasn’t a part of filming the Crow when Brandon was alive. They reached out to him to double for the unfinished scenes. He confirmed in his Art of Action episode
This guy is the director of all John Wick movies. It was probably the relationship he has with Keanu Reeves that cemented the John Wick idea. This guy has some of the best quotes I ever heard. "If I'm the smartest guy in the room, I'm in the wrong room." "I guess I have kind of a type. Pretty much anybody who shows up in a black leather overcoat, I've doubled for them." "For me, it's about surrounding myself with the best, most talented team out there, and not ever being afraid of being the worst guy in the room. It's ego-crushing, yeah. Every day is ego-crushing. But it keeps you sharper than you can imagine."
They had the script before they decided on Keanu. They were thinking of someone older like Clint Eastwood but knew he wouldn’t be able to move like that and the lightbulb went off for Keanu.
@@flashbackfilmmaking I really loved his work in all the three films of John Wick. I do hope to watch something equally amazing in Birds of Prey reshoots (actually, I am scared, after Whedon as well as Warner Bros. ruined Zack Snyder's Justice League).
Holy shit!! I didn’t even know Chad was a professional kung fu fighter back in the day BEFORE he rose in Hollywood to become a director and make the John Wick movies...😵😵😭🤘🏽😭🙏 No fucking wonder. He must’ve been a sick fight choreographer
Fun Fact: Chad Stahelski was a student of Grandmaster Daniel Inosanto, Bruce Lee's student and one of the most renowned martial arts instructors in the world. And his John Wick Co-director, David Leitch, was a competitive Kickboxing fighter. So... I wouldn't mess with these guys.

Not only did this dude go on to direct Keanu with _John Wick,_ but they brought him back to play Trinity's fake husband in _The Matrix Resurrections._ Whatever your thoughts were on that movie, even you guys gotta admit- that was a nice tribute.
I loved Resurrections even more for that addition,it felt like a nice acknowledgement/tribute to all the hard work the crew gave for the Matrix trilogy. Hell they had James McTeique show up as an earlier version of Thomas Anderson with his wife playing Tiffany (the reflection of Trinity)
Dion Lam at the end! Never seen him speak english before this. Fun fact...he also worked on Spider-Man 2, and the little girl that Peter saved from the fire is played by his daughter.
Wow, great stuntman and director. He and Keanu are both handsome. The Asian guy towards the end of the video said “tax department”, I recognized him who was a stuntman in HK then.
No one in Hollywood does their own stunts. I don't think anyone does anywhere anymore. A lot of what you see in the "John Wick" films is Keanu but he hasn't been doing Tae Kwon Do for decades like Stahelski.
From Keanu's stuntman, to Keanu's director and one of the most wanted directors in Hollywood nowadays. Kudos to Chad Stahelski.
