May I say... as a bloke who's been living OS in S.America for a while, I find your rebuild vids complete with calls of Aussie birdlife in the background quite therapeutic! Merry Christmas and HNY to your and yours.
One trick I learned from you is Scotch Brite pads to clean up metal. I don't use them on a power drill yet but either do it by hand or with a small battery powered tool called a Sonic Scrubber. Works great and gets the crud off without tearing into the metal.
I'm not surprised Peter when you say you get comments that you apparently don't know what you're doing. I'm an Electrician of 35 years & get young blokes reckon I know next to nothing as well. If only I was 17 again, I'd know everything.

Yeah your guys 302 is pretty different than ours. The ones we have are Windsor based. The Cleveland’s are similar except yours are thicker. I would love to have my hands on some of this lol

I like the single piece rubber sump gaskets with the steel reinforcements on the holes, still use a bit of permatex on the corners always.

Nice video Peter, you and I have very similar interests right down to Sigmas and old Victas 😄I don't know a great deal about them either but your Ingram alternator there would have been made by the large Aussie company later known as Ashdown Ingram, based in Sydney, they seem to be well made. I managed to obtain a Motorcraft alternator for my xflow XE that was rebuilt by them, it was left behind in it's box at a local Ford dealership that closed down, so they must have done contract work too.

Hi Peter you were wondering about the rust that kept returning to your heads, I am a panelbeater and I have found that any body panels that have been in a fire and then have been repair and painted sometimes have the same issue. Has your engine or heads been in a fire? Just a thought.Love your channel have been watching for about 9 years now.
Gday Pete! Love watching these V8 build videos, gives me more confidence to do my own. The only thing that traps me is dialing in a cam. I have to go over one of your other videos a few times I think. That was a good idea checking the coolant before anything else. Never thought of doing that to test it. Testimg coolant with tape over the coolant ports on the heads? Im missing something.
The inlet manifold has no coolant travelling through it. The tape was only covering the inlet ports and a central exhaust transfer port used or EGR. Cheers and Merry Christmas.
