If I hadn't just bought a Zero Japan Beehouse (and was comfortable with using plastic), the smaller size Pegasus would be on my shopping list already.

How is this different from the Melitta style brewer that you find in every drip machine and in every German grandparents' home? 😅

I think it's flow restricted so you can brew with coarser coffee and still get decent contact times

@@Mandragara That's a good point, but the the Melitta also has 2 or 3 little holes like that. The precise flow might be different but the principle seems the same

The Hario paper is different than a Melitta paper. In my experience I use not so coarse coffee for the Hario. Otherwise it's running too fast for my taste. I prefer the kalita wave. ☮️

The biggest difference I can see is that the ribs are laid out in a spiral rather than vertically. I'd view this brewer as a V60 adapted to trapezoid/Melitta-shaped filters (which, incidentally, are much easier to find in my local area than conical filters).

I was thinking the same. Melitta brewers are the most common in Brazil, and Pegasus looks similar.

Looks like the shape of my old OXO dripper.

Interesting, but I feel I'd just use a Clever Dripper as that way I have the option to steep. Great in summer for flash-chilled pourover! I can see this appealing to people who want to just use supermarket paper filters though, and want to save ~$30 over a Clever.
