"Is Anybody Out There" sticks with me the most because I played this game within the span of two days where my parents were out of town, the song reminds me of the freedom I had with the house all to myself but it also reminds me of the loneliness I felt in those two days of being in the house all alone sitting in my room playing this game.

This game genuinely terrifies me. Especially black holes; they scared me to that extent that whenever I enter a star system I’m praying a black hole isn’t there. This game is something else, I cannot explain, but this game changed me. The way you fly through the void between galaxies and seeing the light around you shift as you fly a trillion times faster than it and distort back as you slow down is beyond terrifying. And seeing the sheer snake of the universe. It shows how insignificant we are. Beautifully done.

idk if AAA is even a valid title anymore, they blow so much of their money on advertising they scarcely have time or money to actually do content or bug fixes
@@eplantiYou should check our Baldur's Gate 3! It's a true AAA game that even went into early access to make sure it's largely bug free and that the content was up to par. No microtransactions, no subscriptions, nothing. Just a really damn good singleplayer RPG that you don't even have to be online to play. They brought back the true AAA quality with this game.
The game is AMAZING but it is way too short, opinion augmented by the fact that the soundtrack goes well with epic events, that happen over the course of a longer timespan. This game has infinite storytelling potential, and I really hope they will still add stuff.
Me too, but seeing how skeletical this game is, would adding a full story be that different from making a new one altogether :) ? The game is still awesome, but adding more to it would make it a gaming and marketing legend
I think the game works the way it is as a little but big 2h adventure. They should make a sequel where they go all out with a great story, more powers, better graphics and call it Gigaton Rainfall.
Yup. It'd be, for a lack of better terms, "safer" to make a different game. If they just change the current one, the impact (pun very intended) won't be the same. If you wanna talk, I got Discord :) [edited out]
I was thinking about Dr. Manhattan. It feels like you're given that power and it's up to you to use it for good. You're basically a god by the end of the game, so Dr. Manhattan fits better in my opinion.
@@gownerjones How? Outside of the cosmetics the protagonist is nothing like the Doctor. Doctor Manhattan doesn’t care, it’s one of his core traits, he was content to let humanity nuke itself. The protagonist of Megaton Rainfall isn’t from Earth, has a ghostly godlike creator and clearly cares about the inhabitants of Earth, using his immense power for good.
@@chadking375 Well, the only version of Dr. Manhattan I know is the one from the Watchmen movie, and I watched that a decade before I even played this game, so probably fuzzy memory. It's just what came to my mind while playing.
Dunno if someone already find out but i am pretty sure some tracks or atleast "Aurora" with the full name of "Suite From Aurora", is made by David García Díaz, you can find his page and tracks on soundcloud
I hope they refine some of the weaker parts of the game such as the search for the signs and xenospheres, and add some more missions, maybe a survival mode and a sandbox mode.
Agreed. Signs are the most interesting part of the game but finding them is pretty boring. And they should add a villain mode where there aren't any aliens and your goal is to kill as many humans in a given time.
+Saylor Twift Considering you can just BLOW up the planet by holding down the Gigaton blast button for about a minute a villain mode would be very quick
_"maybe a survival mode and a sandbox mode."_ - But that's what the game is already... Every mission is about city survival, too many people die, you lose - Survival Mode Check. You have an entire life-size Earth to explore, plus a practically infinite number of galaxies and star systems and there's no punishment for going wherever you like between missions - Sandbox Check.
When I say survival, I mean you pick a town, and defend it as long as you can against an endless army of aliens. When I say sandbox, I mean you can destroy cities without consequences.
