Socrates and Confucius at the Agora, Athens: An Encounter

This very short video, following on the heels of my earlier video on Socrates in the Agora, is also shot in the Agora and has been inspired by a sculptural work on Socrates and Confucius by the Chinese artist Wu Weishan. These very short set of remarks consider briefly the notion of the lawgiver, and I suggest that it is figure of "the lawgiver" that enabled the one artist to call to mind Socrates and Confucius together. But the idea of the 'good life' may also have played a part in enabling the artist to invoke Confucius alongside Socrates.
