Im glad i own a M1 Godzilla 1989 prop, you can`t get any more screen accurate than that :=) What is the most screen accurate 1989 toy/model that is for sale now a days?
Hey, man! I'm still around. Just got tired of Facebook. I'm not much of a social media guy. The X-Plus Kaiju Collector's Club is the only thing I miss, lol. But I'll be posting a new video once I get the Yuji Sakai Godzilla 1984, which is pretty much my holy grail figure!
This is a great review. I have and love the standard. But I just got a great deal on the Ric so I'm going to compare and sell whichever I like less. Although I'd be more than happy keeping both, really can't go wrong with either. To my Heisei untrained eye this figure looks really accurate to me but I can see where you are coming from on that. It's sort of a catch all Heisei figure. I'm really not sure about the Glow plates tho. It's encouraging to hear you like them in person and you have a very unbiased approach in your reviews which I really appreciate. The more I've seen of the Ric I'm liking the jaw options a lot. I think open and closed look great Just need to see those plates in person. So would you say that the glow feature aside you like the ric plates better overall? You mention they pop so it sounds like you do just wanted to get your thoughts having had both a couple weeks now
@@FerrislillyThanks for the kind words! Glad you liked the video. Yes! I like the RIC dorsal spines a lot better! They really look great in person. Like I said, I prefer the spines to be whiter, or at least, lighter in color. And compared to the spines on the Standard (which look kind of dull), the RIC spines really stand out. The fact that they're "glow in the dark" doesn't even matter. They don't look like they're made from the obvious glow in the dark plastic you normally see. And they don't really "glow" much anyway when you turn off the lights. It's a cool extra feature, but otherwise, it doesn't effect the overall asthetic of the figure. Next to the Standard, they just look like brighter white plates. If you like the Standard, I think you're really going to love the RIC. He's just all around better, IMO.
I see now why you kept both. These both are gorgeous, but I think you are right. The ric has the edge with the closed mouth. The dorsal plates have a chalky look so not as clear as I thought. I actually like them. The closed jaw just really makes the figure change in demeanor and I dig it. If it was only closed I'm not sure what I'd do. I really like the open mouth. But having both is awesome.
Yeah, he's a great figure. And once you have both in hand, it's hard to part with either lol. If I ever do end up selling one, it will be the Standard though. The RIC is just perfection!
30cm 84 sakai is most likely coming and Gigantic it’s rumored that Gee is going to make a 84 gigantic which is what i also want! But i love the Ric 89 its my favorite gigantic so far! I am also hype for the G19 gigantic thats coming
Awesome! Where did you hear that Gee wants to make a Gigantic 84? I haven't heard him say anything for certain. Although, I do remember posting on Facebook once how much I wanted a 30cm Sakai 84 and a Gigantic 84, and Gee liked the post. So that keeps me hopeful!
Dang Rob, you must have a lot of space in your place to keep both! I only have 3 gigantic Godzillas, and my apartment is already hella crowded. I'm very happy with my '89, it's an awesome figure, great review my friend!
Thank you! And no, haha. I'm completely out of space! I haven't been able to eat at my dinner table for like a year, because I have two Gigantic X-Plus Godzillas and the Kaiyodo Shin on there. Pretty much every flat surface in my apartment has a Godzilla on it lol. Don't know what I'll do when I get the next one, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there!
When you gonna post again man 😆
Where are you?
You made really good content
This is exactly what I wanna watch!
Godzilla 1989 is one of my many favorite suits
Mine too! He's my favorite Heisei Godzilla!

These lil clips r sweeeeeet
Dope review man!
Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it!
It's refreshing to see a new Godzilla content creator on RUclips! You put a lot of effort into your videos and it really shows, keep it up!
Thank you! I know I don't post as often as I should, but I'm planning to release a lot more videos in the future. Thanks for watching!!

This would be one I’d be willing to get one of my favorite suits!
Definitely one of my favorites too!

My standard version also has a bit of a leaning posture, so it’s not just you.
I wonder why that is. Oh, well. Glad I'm not the only one. He really is an amazing figure!

Really Good video Robert! I love this figure! I do agree with you that it's a more generic Heisei Godzilla, but it still looks awesome and amazing!
Thanks, Liam! I love it too! Even though he's generic, that's kind of what I wanted anyway. Glad you liked the video!!
