    2:36 so whats in the registers? Is it l1 cache l2 cache or mar and mdr. Pls reply cus i have no clue

    • @igorniedzielski1759
      @igorniedzielski1759 6 лет назад +1

      The register is all the levels of cache as cache is what is on the CPU, as for mar and mdr they are also in the register

      So the other answer isn't quite right - the cache and registers are two separate things. Registers are very small bits of memory (maybe 64 bits in size and maybe there'll only be ~30/40 in total) that are on the CPU. Cache may or may not be on the CPU but they're still small compared to RAM, but larger than registers (slower too). Both are used instead of having to go to RAM constantly (as they are both fast). Think of it as registers store data used in one clock cycle, whereas cache for maybe 100 clock cycles.
      Have a look at the playlist on my channel for your exam board to see if you need to know about the special-purpose registers and/or L1, L2 cache - otherwise, don't worry about them more than what I've said

    the main memory is the RAM, and its not the same as registers, registers are small storage inside the cpu

    is harvard model on the specification?

  • @fabr1cated
    @fabr1cated 6 лет назад

    is this the 9-1 specification? And if it is, Will 2018 jan students who will sit for exams have to follow the 9-1 specification?

    • @ComputerScienceTutor
      @ComputerScienceTutor  6 лет назад +1

      Yes, it's 9-1, and from now on all GCSE students will be graded with 9-1 rather than A*-E (in CS at least). All exams are in May/June not also in January, like the situation a few years ago

    • @fabr1cated

    • @ComputerScienceTutor

      As far as I know, no GCSE courses have exams in January (if that's what you mean)

    Can you do videos on the Edexcel NEA? I am starting it next week but am still unsure of some of the things u have to do for it such as test plans so I would be grateful if u could do videos on that.

    • @ComputerScienceTutor
      @ComputerScienceTutor  7 лет назад

      +AgentB 13 sorry, I probably know way less about the NEA than you! I’ll try to familiarise myself with it after I finish the exam content but that won’t be for a while. Test plans aren’t too bad, see if you can find some templates online. Hope it goes well!

    • @AryadevChavali
      @AryadevChavali 6 лет назад

      The NEA is dependent on what language you learnt in school. I learnt Python (along with most schools), though C family languages and other OOPs and High level languages are taught. Therefore, it is pretty difficult to teach the NEA

    • @gameitwright7821

      Aryadev Chavali It's alright it wasn't the programming that was a problem for me anyway it was the other parts and I'm what I'm doing now anyway.
