Man, they're both awesome examples of excellent Engineering. Some people will feel the need to argue bike versus car, or this brand versus that; but I'll just stay in awe of the weapons-grade speed, traction, and stability available for a relatively small amount of cash.
I'm not much into the GTR but heck, that's one hell of a great car. Seriously. I mean, the KAWA is insanely quick, but the GTR's acceleration is just mindbending.

Sea Tac Assassin I can't answer that since we have not had an H2 on our dyno here at Brock's Performance. I can tell you that between dyno inconsistencies, weather conditions and the difference between quoting the SAE vs. STD scale, one man's 245 RWHP could easily be another man's 265 RWHP.

I'm including development costs of creating an engine that will produce between 1,500 and 2,000 hp. The engine alone is about $58K plus installation and tuning, plus tranny, plus new axels, suspension, etc. I agree, if you are using a GTR as a platform than $500,000 is exaggerating if one is using off the shelf-parts. In reality, you're still looking at a $250,000-300,000 GTR.
Kawasaki Ninja H2R No it's not... If you replaced the air ducts with lights, changed the entire exhaust system, raised the ride height, added a cooling fan, changed the tyres to road legal ones and added mirrors and a licence plate, in some countries you may be able to register it on the road. Otherwise it's just as street legal as a F1 car or a top fuel dragster.

For instance, there are plenty of H2R with 400 hp, it's not stock anymore of course. The biggest thing i got from this video is just how much faster this gtr with only 150hp more than the Vittese Veyron is. The H2R killed the Veyron even after it had a major launch advantage. Nice Vid!

Attention all but-hurt bike enthusiasts!!! YES WE KNOW, the car is modified. But so is the bike! It is a non road-legal race bike. It is a tuned up version of the H2, only difference is, it is tuned at the factory by the manufacturer, therefor it is labeled 'stock'. Before you comment 'let's see it against a turbo busa', go check out the video of a UGR Lambo leaving a 400whp+ turbo busa in the dust. This GTR is not the fastest street car, no where near for that matter. The fastest cars are faster than the fastest bikes. I know it hurts you to try and comprehend this, but it's the laws of physics.
the only reason the H2R is not street legal is because it doesn't meet emissions requirement. it has a full, cat free exhaust with no restrictions to the ecu. the gtr is street legal, but this one in the video isn't. it would never meet emissions, especially with a modified engine, bigger turbos, full exhaust, with some spray. the h2r comes unrestricted straight from the factory, the gtr doesn't.
Sounds like someone's a salty cager. The only reason cars are faster than bikes eventually is due to stability. There can only be so much torque without flipping the bike backwards. Only so much power delivery without overloading the rotational mass of the tires and losing control.
Abi Jimenez The H2R also has super slick track tyres, air ducts instead of headlights, no cooling fan or catalytic converter. If the GTR has in an in date MOT, it is legal. It's more than likely that it has a valved exhaust with a cat and a bypass pipe. Flick it over to the cat side and it will pass the emissions - much easier than what you'd have to do for the H2R.
The car is a beast. Having said that, I read up on this challenge. The bike was new out of the crate and only run in on a dyno the night before! The rider had never ridden it before the challenge and it ran off regular pump fuel! To be honest, I call that impressive. If you don't believe me, look it up.

David Azzopardi not everyone can ride a bike. They require a lot of skill, the learning curve is pretty steep, and you needs balls the size of wrecking balls to do 200+ on one. Oh and if you fall or crash, you're pretty much done for. Also, if you haven't watched the video already, they raced this bike against a Veyron with an SS tune (so 1200HP), the bike won obviously. But the veyron trapped like 190-ish. This GTR just trapped 208. So yes they spent some money, but now they got a car faster than a Veyron.
Most people who can ride a road bike could of ridden in that race. And the bike is stock !! That is exactly as they come off the showroom floor, there are plenty of modified turbo Hayabusa's ridden on the street that would eat that h2r in a straight line

I've raced motorbikes for 15+ years. You simply cannot purchase a unmodified, reliable, road legal production car that will even come close to hanging with a production superbike. Just isn't possible yet, but they're getting close with some of the Koenigsegg's, McLaren's, and Ferrari's. Even so, I mean come on, these cars cost $2 million US or more, and in the Koenigsegg's case they usually only make a small handful. The new Yamaha R1 is just ridiculous around a road course. My buddy just rode his in some club races last weekend and went way faster (1;18's) than any production car ever has around Hallett, and he's in his 50's and although skilled, not even close to 1 of the top riders. The lap record at the track is a 1'13.3 on a KTM RC8. Put Eslick on a new R1 and watch it do 1'11's guaranteed. Fastest production car lap is a 1'23. Drag strip/top speed times don't really matter any more. To me. if the vehicle can hit 200, that's more than enough. The H2 and H2R are great marketing tools for Kawasaki, but really nothing more. Fast in a straight line, but too heavy and ill handling to be a serious track weapon. Besides, they already have a fantastic track bike in the ZX10R, just needs some updates to the electronics to be more in line with the R1, HP4, and Panigale. Flash and tune the ECU of any modern superbike and blammo, you can hit 200 bhp and weigh only 425 lbs. A true power to weight monster, but it's not as easy to go fast on a bike as in a car. If you doubt it, go to the track and test for yourself.
You can walk into a showroom and buy a new H2R. That means it's stock. You can't walk into a showroom and buy that GTR, because it's modified. That means it isn't stock. 'Street legal' doesn't mean the same thing as 'stock'. Stock means unmodified.

Everyone knows that stock bike would win over stock car (in a straight line), since stock car is usually 6-8x heavier than bike, but only has 2-3x more power. Reading a couple f these comments and I would think the GTR comes stock with 1350HP!! Not sure how it is modified but I'm going to guess the GTR is well over $150k just a fuss. It's an H2. Not an H2R. For the following reasons. The GTR walked it like a low 200hp bike. Which the H2 produces after light mods. The H2R has a 249 mph top speed and a body meant to combat drag unlike your typical 1,000 which doesnt have a great drag coefficient and they have to battle to get past 190.
I would rather have the stock H2R than the GTR because the stock H2R costs around $50,000. The GTR used in this video was faster, it also probably cost 4 times as much as the H2R. For a car that costs around $200,000 I would expect it to beat a stock H2R by more than 4mph. I can jog 4mph. H2R for the win.

YES WE KNOW, the car is modified. But so is the bike! It is a non road-legal race bike. It is a tuned up version of the H2, only difference is, it is tuned at the factory by the manufacturer, therefor it is labeled 'stock'.
Before you comment 'let's see it against a turbo busa', go check out the video of a UGR Lambo leaving a 400whp+ turbo busa in the dust. This GTR is not the fastest street car, no where near for that matter.
The fastest cars are faster than the fastest bikes. I know it hurts you to try and comprehend this, but it's the laws of physics.
the only reason the H2R is not street legal is because it doesn't meet emissions requirement. it has a full, cat free exhaust with no restrictions to the ecu. the gtr is street legal, but this one in the video isn't. it would never meet emissions, especially with a modified engine, bigger turbos, full exhaust, with some spray. the h2r comes unrestricted straight from the factory, the gtr doesn't.
Sounds like someone's a salty cager. The only reason cars are faster than bikes eventually is due to stability. There can only be so much torque without flipping the bike backwards. Only so much power delivery without overloading the rotational mass of the tires and losing control.
A stock GTR would lose badly to a stock H2. It would even lose to a stock 600cc bike up to 150mph.
No need of H2, a zx10 or s1000rr is more than enough to destroy GTR by a good margin
Abi Jimenez The H2R also has super slick track tyres, air ducts instead of headlights, no cooling fan or catalytic converter. If the GTR has in an in date MOT, it is legal. It's more than likely that it has a valved exhaust with a cat and a bypass pipe. Flick it over to the cat side and it will pass the emissions - much easier than what you'd have to do for the H2R.

The car is a beast. Having said that, I read up on this challenge. The bike was new out of the crate and only run in on a dyno the night before! The rider had never ridden it before the challenge and it ran off regular pump fuel! To be honest, I call that impressive. If you don't believe me, look it up.

David Azzopardi not everyone can ride a bike. They require a lot of skill, the learning curve is pretty steep, and you needs balls the size of wrecking balls to do 200+ on one. Oh and if you fall or crash, you're pretty much done for. Also, if you haven't watched the video already, they raced this bike against a Veyron with an SS tune (so 1200HP), the bike won obviously. But the veyron trapped like 190-ish. This GTR just trapped 208. So yes they spent some money, but now they got a car faster than a Veyron.

I've raced motorbikes for 15+ years. You simply cannot purchase a unmodified, reliable, road legal production car that will even come close to hanging with a production superbike. Just isn't possible yet, but they're getting close with some of the Koenigsegg's, McLaren's, and Ferrari's. Even so, I mean come on, these cars cost $2 million US or more, and in the Koenigsegg's case they usually only make a small handful. The new Yamaha R1 is just ridiculous around a road course. My buddy just rode his in some club races last weekend and went way faster (1;18's) than any production car ever has around Hallett, and he's in his 50's and although skilled, not even close to 1 of the top riders. The lap record at the track is a 1'13.3 on a KTM RC8. Put Eslick on a new R1 and watch it do 1'11's guaranteed. Fastest production car lap is a 1'23. Drag strip/top speed times don't really matter any more. To me. if the vehicle can hit 200, that's more than enough. The H2 and H2R are great marketing tools for Kawasaki, but really nothing more. Fast in a straight line, but too heavy and ill handling to be a serious track weapon. Besides, they already have a fantastic track bike in the ZX10R, just needs some updates to the electronics to be more in line with the R1, HP4, and Panigale. Flash and tune the ECU of any modern superbike and blammo, you can hit 200 bhp and weigh only 425 lbs. A true power to weight monster, but it's not as easy to go fast on a bike as in a car. If you doubt it, go to the track and test for yourself.

For all who complain about stock and non-stock. The point is to compare two machines with similar power-to-weight ratio, right? Everyone knows that stock bike would win over stock car (in a straight line), since stock car is usually 6-8x heavier than bike, but only has 2-3x more power. Of course it needs some big modifications.

The GTR in this video is just a tuned up street car, and they're plenty faster ones than this - UGR Lambo's for example, over 2000hp and weigh less than 1300kg. Bikes have no chance against such cars.

Reading a couple f these comments and I would think the GTR comes stock with 1350HP!! Not sure how it is modified but I'm going to guess the GTR is well over $150k just a fuss. That H2R with some modifications like the GTR would absolutely blow this thing away. The ghost riders bike was puting down some serious HP at 500 the H2R being a liter bike wouldn't be far off from that
It's an H2. Not an H2R. For the following reasons.
The GTR walked it like a low 200hp bike. Which the H2 produces after light mods.
The H2R has a 249 mph top speed and a body meant to combat drag unlike your typical 1,000 which doesnt have a great drag coefficient and they have to battle to get past 190.

For a car that costs around $200,000 I would expect it to beat a stock H2R by more than 4mph. I can jog 4mph. H2R for the win.
