So, 1.43 patch notes are here. In short: 1. Axl bros, we haven't whined hard enough to get Rainwater vacuum and/or charge Rensen back, it's so Axl Lover ; 2. For most of the cast the only change is reverting damage back to pre season 4 on some moves (hopefully May won't TOD everyone anymore); 3. Pot will have both karas and armour on PB. Wow. And kara will simply ignore issue with flick input. Double wow; 4. Nago's basically untouched. Not even damage nerfs, only minor blood rage pop on aerial block change + no more karas (like it was used by somebody lol); 5. Ram combos will be worse but Guard crush loops aren't going anywhere. Disappointing. Some might say that it is naive to wait for impactful changes in minor balance patch and may be right, but it's been almost 2 month since disaster of a launch and the boldest change they came up with is just reverting damage. That just isn't enough, especially considering that pre-season damage was also quite high
What do you mean? They said they decreased horizontal blowback, so I would presume that would mean we get the vacuum back, especially considering how they worded it. Considering how much we whined, I do think they listened to us
@Dude9106 imo if they really wanted to bring vacuum back they would had addressed this directly without beating around the bush, plus if vacuum is really back, why would it even need increased launch height? Changes address problems with 5p not connecting after landing Rainwater in certain ranges (half of effective range), which is written in overview And again, Daisuke's vision implies that Axl is dedicated zoner now and Arc doesn't seem to give up on this idea (as mentioned in overview) so it would take a huge effort to make them reconsider. Pot community succeeded 'cause it's large, has started shitstorm from day 1 and shaken whole playerbase with "skil expression" debate. Axl community is comparably small and nerf to Rainwater barely concerns anyone outside of it due to Axl's changes more affecting Axl then anyone playing against him. Though I'd be genuinely happy if you were right
They didn't even revert pot buster's range back to its og size, so not only is the fucker going to armor your abare's and play really ignorantly, he can just grab you if he delays his potbust and catches your backdash. Wonderful.
2 months is an incredibly short turnaround time when you consider that they have also had Team of 3 and Venom DLC in the oven at the same time. I can't imagine how suffocating the fan pressure must be right now to make them crunch this hard, especially considering they never did something like this in early season 3. This is not 'the patch to fix everything'. If it was, they would have done *something* to Zato. It's just tweaks to the things they already changed once in 4.00. Damage changes, and toning down some of the overcorrections they did in that patch. That's what they said they would do, and it's what they did. It's pretty obvious why they changed Rainwater the way they did, taken in tandem with moves like Kapel, Rolling Movement, and Bandit Bringer: They wanted to make it more difficult to bait out 6Ps and reversals, or reduce the reward for doing so (in compensation for the nerfs to reversals in 3.07 and 6Ps in 4.00). They're not going to turn back from that philosophy on a dime. This kind of scope is exactly what they promised in the patch announcement last week, and Arc System Works tends to have a habit of giving exactly what they promise, and not what we might have hoped they would do.

I dunno man, QCF rensen is more fun to use in application, without any incentive to have the charge input.
I do miss rainwater tho
