Loved this video. If you guys had tons of squid and sandeels there'd be a lot more fluke. I used to do a lot of winter flounder fishing where the Byram River empties into Port Chester Harbor. This was shore fishing but I had been out with friends of the family in PC Harbor and caught lots of winter flounder even in the summer but it's a long long time ago
A yellow bead on one of the standard Chester town hooks is fine. In spring fresh shucked bank mussels and or strips of fresh clam are my favorites. For speed anywhere from .3 to .6 is ideal. I wouldn't get bogged down with anchoring up and chumming for a fish or two They are among the best eating salt water fish this side of the Atlantic
nice job man, again on the fluke, cool to see that squid worked well
Thanks Peter! They sure can be picky sometimes!

Thanks for the comment RS! I've yet to catch a winter flounder but will certainly give it a shot! I hear yellow is the color?

@@rogersimpson8871 wow! Thanks for the information!
Nice fluke!
Thanks Jelly 😊
We got on a good fluke bite in the western sound this week as well. 5 keepers in a couple hours of fluking. Fish were most active in 20-40’
That's great to hear! Glad you did well out there!
Hey great video! What size bucktail were you catching the porgy on towards the end of the video?
It was a 1oz Spro!
Nice trip !
Are you fishing on the CT side or the NY side ?
What bait casting reel and rod are you using ?
Thanks
Hey there! I'm on the CT side and I'm using a Quantum accurist reel paired with a Daiwa Harrier 64MB rod!
Thanks
lol
Isn’t that the case thou… change rig from fluke to porgy/sea bass and you get the keeper Fluke 🤦♂️
Good job on not giving up
