This is perfect!!! You did an absolutely amazing job at constructing such an accurate model. I also loved the narration and the editing of the video, it got me hooked throughout! Twenty minutes passed by and I was still in awe. If it was just possible for every single person to see your model, we'd all get to appreciate just how lucky we are to be living on Earth. Thanks Ockie. I tried for some time to reach the globes manufactures and other companies but unfortunately I didn't managed to get the interest of any investor to go forward with this project. As for the prototype I made, I keep watching the sunrises and sunsets on each and every place on earth in real time. And it still amazes me why is so difficult to humans to realize that our planet is an oasis on the vastness of empty space. You are doing an excellent job with your grand-kids by the way. And it makes a difference on the future of mankind.

Honestly, as a kid growing up, with two older brothers & sisters, in a poor native family, my father I thought all of us all out to see teach us the stars, planets, talk about space, and unconsciously teach us our traditional lunar-solar Polynesian calendar system. From a 5 yr old kid I was besotted by the stars, planets and the moon - still am. Only as an adult my elder siblings told me I was the only kid silly enough to go with our father to view the stars. They don’t know what they missed. To this day, i always wonder how my father knew all this stuff in Maori, his native tongue & English - he left primary school in 1932 age 13. Over the past decade I’ve been invited to China, Japan, Hawai’i & all over New Zealand to present at numerous events about traditional astronomical knowledge - all because my father’s help as a kid. I’m now playing his game and trying to show these wonderful starry sights to my grandkids - actually any kid. I have a granddaughter (7 yrs) besotted with the stars. She would love your Earthly planet to replace the dormant globe I got for her (age 3) to hang in her bed room - her globe is so dull!. Please keep going with your endeavors - many thanks again for your wonderful efforts. Naku ne te aroha
'The power of the Gods & the awareness of a monkey' is where we are in an evolutionary stage & that 'we are all astronauts on the spaceship called Earth' just blew my mind!!! Can't understand why this video has not been viewed at least a million times! You can also add voice for the teletyped text (captions) so that we can enjoy the beautiful video while listening to your inner voice. Sometimes I thought I'm missing the beautiful scene because I've to read the text below & vice versa. If I had $1 bn I'd borrow another $1 bn from the banks & would install one of these in each of the cities around the globe... For now, I just thank you from the core of my heart.
So cool! I had a thought for an insane improvement- if instead of just a light inside it was a projector, you could show real-time weather systems and even project the lights from settlements on the night side. Would be an absolute game changer, I know I’d fund the shit out of it
Thanks Stewart, 13 years ago I tried to get someone interested on this concept and I also disclosed that exact concept you are talking about. I guess the 360º projection technology isn't available yet. But that is the natural evolution and it will be an amazing device to have at home and public spaces.
