Never saw them but man they were good back in the day when punk, pyschobilly , rockabilly were all merging to make one of the best periods in music. Check out he Meteors, Stingrays, Tall Boys etc. UK ruled that one : )
You missed Deltas , Vibes , Guana Batz , Krewmen , Escalators , Torment , Frenzy , Sharks , Dave phillips , Restless , Batmobile (Dutch) Yeah there were non uk great bands too.
I really love the rockabilly guitar solos, like the ones at 0:38 and 1:31. No basturbating or showing off abilitys, every beat there to make the tune rock even more...
@@Phil-tb2yz - Brian Setzer was the chief basturbator. 10-minute intros, 10-minute solos. To be fair, he's not the only guitarist who did that - but he was doing it right from the start. Besides which, Brian auditioned for Levi Dexter's band in about '79/'80. He was offered the job but couldn't accept because he was grounded for bad grades or something. Which is all very rock 'n' roll (though never an ounce of billy) but clearly precludes him from being the daddy.
when i first heard this song in 1980 something,on top of the pops, i thought iwas the beeness, great beat, i was stright downto ourpice to buy my copy, stillhave it
This reminds me of early 80s at the Palmerston Hotel Bournemouth, Friday Rock N Roll night.Toby Bitter at 48p a pint.I was 14/15 & £3 would get me a night out with great music & Id get pissed too! Oh. Dave Phillips Tainted Love also brings the same memories! Baggy jeans, bowling shirt & grey chukka boots.... :)
Is this recording from the "Polecats are Go" record or a single, sinse there's a promo video? Cause I've got a recording of this song from the late eighties Vinyl Japan "Won't die" album ep what ever and it's not the same version. Both versions are really good though. This one's got more thumping bass to it, the other is much more guitar driven.
+PsychobillyStompin' That was 1980, and all the toughest British punks wore make-up. The Polecats were a cross between a punk band, and a US rockabilly band like the Stray Cats. They were the missing link, or at least the link you've been missing, between rockabilly and later psychobilly bands like the Meteors.
+PsychobillyStompin' Elvis wore eye liner, as have a huge amount of bands over the years. Artistic people tend to do these things no matter what music they sing. Tim Polecat has been living in the states for donkeys years now and is at the center of the rockin scene in the states, and no one has beat him up.
If this is from Top of the Pops it'll be from when the song made the Top 40 in May 1981. It this sounds like that version from what I remember, particularly that intro.
Haven't heard this track for YEARS. Bloody brilliant!!!! 🤩🤩👍
81❤I was twelve years old then I loved this tune and tell you what....I still LOVE❤IT, ALWAYS til the day I die...

@GumBeatingTV If you want to hear really good sound, dig deep into real 50s rockabilly. It beats it all

+Per-Olof Wiktorsson It aint the 1979 release, so must be 1981. I think the video is from Top of the Tops which would confirm 1981

I'm good friends with the singer

+Modern Plutarch Have you always been a mindless idiot ? OR do you practice..TROLL !!!
they are not from de 50's
Don't agree with that makeup since american rockabillys would probably beat them up for that but everything else is amazing
+PsychobillyStompin'

You've just described The M3t3ors there! The Polecats & all the other poncy Rockabilly bands were pussies compared to them.

roackagay guy
The "scream" happens to be Pat Smear from the Germs .... LOL
