@Connor junkins if they don't already have one I suspect they'll get a generator, while this won't keep your internet on if your isp goes down in your area it will if the power* goes out.
You have to use devices called "Access Points" which use a LAN cable, to extend the range on your property. You should make sure they support MESH, since that would stop the pauses of internet when walking around. Hope that helped.

They only need wifi to control the house externally. I’m sure each device has a local IP. So if they have no internet I’m assuming each thing talk to each other locally without actually using the internet. But if a network switch goes down or an Alexa dies then something might happen
