This is one of my favorite Heart songs and one that is not well-known to most people. It rocks. Great vocals (as always), great chorus, and great guitar rifts........... coming from a drummer nonetheless. Rock on!

2 other similar bangers on the album that were actually written by the whole band instead of outside writers: The Wolf and Shell Shock.
Shell shock is insanely good song!
Both songs are great, but like this one they faded too quick and need more jamming at the end. I think both should have been 5:00+ with longer guitar solos and jamming at the end. My only issue wit this record is it so commercial that every song is three to four minutes long for top 40 radio. Still very good tho!
This is such a fantastic tune...and those layers of vocals in the chorus are spine chilling. Also check out the metal band Primal Fear who did a cover of this a few years back.

This whole album had a bunch of songs that should have had extended jam outtros. In the 80s things were too commercialized.

Heart singing cover Stairway to Heaven at The Kennedy Honors Center...tribute to Led Zeppelin....Band all there except Jon Bonham RIP. But he'd son plays drums during performance.

One of my Favorites from Heart, along with Tall Dark Handsome Stranger, and their version of Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Led Zeppelin. In fact, I like Heart's version better than Zep's. Ann has the powerhouse lead vocals, Nancy (usually) sings backup, and plays the nasty guitar. I think she also did most of the writing.
You should listen to The Wolf by this same album. I think you'll like it man.

The 70s allowed for the longer drawn out songs for the musicians to express themselves, but this was commmercialed Influence on the band. you still get some rock guitar edge because that was popular during this period in the 80s, but not too much as they wanted to keep the songs short enough to be radio friendly. often musical outros would be faded out early to crossfire into the next song or cut to an ad even if the recording actually allowed the musicians to stretch out a bit. Catchy, hooky tunes that stick in your head, but lack much depth beneath the surface. That's why the original material from the 70s has more longevity and staying power. Those classics were more diverse and interesting.

You GOTTA do Stairway to Heaven recorded at the Kennedy Center Led Zeppelin was honored. I’ve watched it several times and every time it gives me goosebumps. Their rendition is so effin good it brought tears to Robert Plant’s eye. Please react to it, you WILL NOT be disappointed, promise. 🍻

I always thought the title of the song needs to be "If looks could hurt" because if they kill the person can of course not beg her to don't hurt him anymore 🤨 But else, i still liked it 😄🤘🏼
