it's honestly scary what heartbreak can do to you. just over a year ago i got cheated on and i went completely off the rails, ended up struggling with depression and anxiety thinking i would never be good enough! I'm with a different lad now and I'm the happiest i have ever been, but still struggle with my mental health! everything happens for a reason, and heartbreak is one of the best lessons to help us grow as people! xxx
I have cancer and at the start I felt like nobody would love me because I was throwing up and had no hair and I couldn’t walk. Then this boy came into my life I loved this boy and we started dating ,I was so happy and then he said I cheated on him and he left me. I loved this boy so much and was nothing but loyal to him I never looked at another boy whilst dating him I cried for six whole months I thought ending it all would help me and I hated myself I tried to go back to him but he didn’t want me. It’s been a year since I’ve moved on I’m a different person I’m growing back hair and I’ve glowed up. I was crying over my auntie as it’s been almost a year since she passed and I got a message from him saying “I want you” but I know I will say no because I was hurt and he blamed me for something I never even considered doing.this boy said he wanted me and when I asked are you being for real he ignored my message and then replied to my story saying add me to your private snapchat stories whilst completely ignoring me , he watches what I do but doesn’t open my messages and I’d never wish that upon myself. I know I deserve better than someone who watches my stories but ignores my messages.
I watched this a year ago when I was sat alone in my bed crying between throwing up because I was so heartbroken. Honestly, I watched it & it made me subscribe to you - but I STILL didn’t feel better about it. I really didn’t believe that I’d ever get over it. Even 2 months ago, I didn’t believe I’d be able to let someone else in ever again. I thought I was having to come to terms with being in that state of heartbreak for the rest of my life.
Since last summer when he came back and (unbeknownst to me) cheated on his girlfriend with me, I hadn’t realised that I’ve been making tiny tiny steps to make myself better. I hadn’t realised that stopping drinking would JUST SLIGHTLY clear my mind. I hadn’t realised that rather than crying in bed, putting time aside to volunteer would improve my employment prospects and make me feel more stable. I hadn’t realised that spending money on essential oils, audible subscriptions and sole cinema visits, rather than money on clubbing, would improve my wellbeing.
I’ve just paid for the flights for my first backpacking trip around Eastern Europe. Im going to be teaching English in different countries. After that, I’ll hopefully be moving onto a placement in another country to save marine life. This time last year I didn’t even think I could make it out of bed, let alone out of the door.

Isn’t it funny how at the end of a relationship the girl wants him back then realises she doesn’t and the boy doesn’t want her back then realises he does. You move on and get over it THEN they come running back! My ex tried coming back three times after I’d tried straight after we split! 😴 now I’m engaged, been with my partner three years and I’m expecting our first baby❤️

Oh my gosh I can’t tell you how much I needed this video Imogene I’ve sat here in tears this whole thing. I’ve been in a relationship with this guy from 14 years old up until a little over a month ago (17 years old now). He was so so toxic and I went through hell in back in our relationship. I tried to end it a year ago because I knew how bad it was and he convinced me he was different and the second I was back with him he turned again. Now here I am I broke up with him again and he didn’t even care. I’m so broken and everything you’re saying about just sobbing alone and not wanting to live and starving yourself and feeling that pain in your stomach.. I feel that sooo much. I obviously know I’m not the only one to ever go through this but it feels good to hear you say those things because I’m like omg she knows what I’m going through and she’s so happy now. My boyfriend and I have been together for over 4 years now, but we've been through little breaks and one larger break because I realized he wasn't treating me properly. It took a lot of re-trusting in him and he's changed so much in the way he treats me. This video is so spot on. It is so important to put yourself first in a relationship no matter what or you will lose yourself and lose the love you need for yourself. I love your idea about writing down things you like about yourself, I think I am going to try that since my confidence has been low recently. I was with my now ex for a year and 4 months and he was what I thought the love of my life. Turned out he got my best friend at the time pregnant after 5 months of sleeping together behind my back. I was distraught and completely broken, it took me almost 2 years to get over him but honestly to anyone going through it, it does get better and you will feel so grateful for sticking through the pain and becoming a better person as a result I am a completely different person now and I love who I have become. Stay strong it will get better ❤️

I love these so much. I can relate so much, My ex of 5 years dumped me over the phone, on facebook messenger when he went to uni. It was in morrisions and i fell to the ground on the floor crying, everyone thought I had something wrong like my legs gave in or something, it was horrendous, I remember thinking its a joke, my whole body going warm and my vision got fuzzy. Thankfully I had my best friend there and he drove me home, but i couldnt do anything. My mum was away on holiday so my best friend whos a boy and my dad was trying to speak to me, didnt go to work for a week, I think it was because I felt like he died and that was it, I was mourning him. It wasnt nice to be told that you wasnt wanted anymore, I felt crazy went to uni messaged around with a boy who wasnt nice and it was just stupid, but it made me realise and click and think no abby, now 2 and a half years later, Ive looked out for myself, found your youtube and met some lovely friends without him dumping me a lot of stuff wouldnt have happened, so if anything i thank him for treating me like shit because Ive found your channel and become a strong women and its been hard but the outcomes have shown me who i am and developed me into a women I am proud to be. Its amazing how time changes you, but i believe everything does happen for a reason. I love you Imogen!! Even if we dont know each other honestly these videos make my week sometimes to remember im not alone, id rather have 2 amazing friends than 4 fake ones and a boy who doesnt treat me well, your messages to girls and boys out their is so inspiring, so thank you xxxx

I'm 25 now and had the first ever breakup with my ex bf this June after being 3 years together. I also couldn't trust him after he dumped me once even tho he tried to come back a few times. Looking back at it now, it's still sad but I don't love him and am very allergic to that person who I loved more than myself and was everything for me once.

I love love love how you're so honest about the way you felt and how you acted at the time, its so common for people to just pretend they never went through that or felt that way because they're embarrassed or ashamed to tell people how bad and broken it made them feel. I've always been the type of person who always tries to hide there emotions and pretend like everything is okay which led me to self harm when i was younger. Seeing you be so honest has made me feel like i can be more open about my own feelings and that its okay to cry sometimes. Thank you imogen for being so honest and real with us xxxxxxx
