As someone who unfortunately partook in inappropriate things online as a child when I was a very young teen/preteen, that man was absolutely not 17. The hyperfixation gives it away. Using actual experience as a reference, he’s just a predator. I’m a mother now, I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old who I allow to play roblox, but I play with them and monitor their gameplay. I hope to educate them more on online predators as they get older so they don’t end up getting into the same stuff I did.

im a minor and I had a similar experience from the last guy and oh boy, was it CONCERNING. It's like theyre placing so much pressuring weight on you every day that they take advantage of it in any way possible. And when it's any way possible it was that one. They manipulated me so well. It was hard to walk away from it since I was too soft and a people pleaser at most, it was too pressuring that it felt like a chore to talk every day and do what they wanted. I was those types of teenagers who would be addicted to the internet (mostly discord) and stay at home 24/7. I wanted them to be happy, which led to my downfall. Luckily, my parents soon took discord away when my parents heard bad situations like these and im glad I dont use discord... Not as often anymore. I only use it for personal stuff like talking to my friends or hear any game updates. I heavily appreciate that you spread awareness like these. I pray for every children's safety and never experience this. It hurts so badly.

As a 13 year old, I had a 15-16 year old manipulate me into online “dating” him only a couple months ago. I broke things off when I started to realise that it was completely unhealthy. Found out very recently from a few of his online exes who reached out to me, that not only was he 17 years old, but he also regularly sent d pics to random girls on Roblox through Snapchat and Discord, made a 12 year old send pics of herself to him when he was 16, and talked very openly about having a grape fantasy. Luckily, the main girl who reached out to me was a sweetheart and was so nice about everything, and we regularly play together and chat now. To all the other kids out there, please stay safe and be careful online :)
This is exactly why I use parental controls for my sister's account, I've seen horrible things on there and I've seen how flawed and pathetic the moderation is, I would get warnings for making decals of my own artwork even though it never broke the terms of service, yet people make inappropriate shirts and characters and can even bypass the chat and say horrific things.

I'm 25 and haven't really touched Roblox since 2011, until a few months ago when i started playing with my fiancé and her 9yo sister, I've seen some wild things, but while its still inexcusable, they've all gone for my fiancé and not her sister. I always try to become a nuisance and report when i see something even a little sus going on in public games. Not that Roblox seems to care, all we can really do is try to protect the kids when we see something going on... Its sad to see the game the way it is these days
I have online friends, and were 5 people in total in a GC. And only 2 of them online date and the rest either never did or used to od. But we have a HUGE PROBLEM. One of them are dating a 16 yr old. We don't know if that's their real age but my friend who is dating that person is 10 yrs old. The whole group tried telling her it's wrong and not ok. She still thinks its ok. We're stuck and don't know what to do because it's dangerous, and even the ones who ods or used to. Knows this is wrong, if anyone can help please tell me how we get her to know it's wrong.

I think kids should be able to have Roblox, just I wish moderation was better, my younger sister with account under the age of 13 had some purely disgusting games available with even worse people one of them being “public bathroom simulator xyz,” and if you look it up it might have grape emojis? But being 9-10 years old when I first made my account in 2016, As of this year I became an adult and its really eye opening to look back and imagine all the times I was possibly approached by a pedophile while being severly underage on this website. I want to thank you for standing up for the roblox community and doing something about these weird fucks. This stuff can lead to serious issues like p*rn addictions and sometimes even suicide.
I’m going to put my own story. This happened to some others on a server me and my sister were playing on. Me and her were about 15 almost 16, And we were playing sword burst. It’s usually a pretty safe place, and wasn’t very interactive when it came to other players outside of teams. And even then, most only teamed when beating dungeons. Me and my sister were grinding for points, and two other users came over to try and avoid a male player. And asked if they could hang with us until he left them alone, as he wasn’t being overly weird or creepy at that point. We agreed and hid out with them in the dungeons. This male player then came over and started harassing us and saying very inappropriate things. Me and my sister told him to buzz off and leave the girls alone and he did for a time. But when we all believed he logged off, and they separated from us, he chased and started up again. Asking for their numbers, instas and other socials. Which is against policy. The 4 of us reported him, and when he realized we were sending detailed reports, he left as quick as possible. I later found him in the searches, and he had gotten his account banned. Whether it was due to our reports, or something else, we were glad he was gone. In all honesty, what we should have done was told the girls to report him, and log off. But we didn’t. I am glad younger me and my sister were smart enough not to leave those girls alone with him. I’ve had a few others try to approach me in games and immediately try to do inappropriate behavior. But I’ve always told them to bug off and report (I’ve been playing since I was about 9, and only played with friends and people I knew IRL) even now that I’m much older, I only play and speak to those I know IRL in games. With very few online exceptions where I’m highly careful and never divulge information that could harm me. Be careful. Stay smart. Never let anyone know details about you. And if anyone like this approaches you online or irl, run as fast as you can. Don’t indulge it. Don’t try and be a good person. Report, block, and move on.

Thanks for another great video on these creeps. Discord scares me. My kids use it to talk to friends and I monitor it and constantly talk to them about this type of thing. But a lot of kids think they are invincible and think it won’t happen to them.
I disagree. I don't think it's just "trolling" to message young girls inappropriate messages. Even if they're joking, it's illegal. I think they stay in game because they don't think it's as serious as it really is, and that they won't face consequences regardless.
I got banned for saying "that's going in my checklist". There are still thousands of con games waiting to be banned, yet they put harmless messages on first priority.

im a minor and I had a similar experience from the last guy and oh boy, was it CONCERNING. It's like theyre placing so much pressuring weight on you every day that they take advantage of it in any way possible. And when it's any way possible it was that one. They manipulated me so well. It was hard to walk away from it since I was too soft and a people pleaser at most, it was too pressuring that it felt like a chore to talk every day and do what they wanted. I was those types of teenagers who would be addicted to the internet (mostly discord) and stay at home 24/7. I wanted them to be happy, which led to my downfall. Luckily, my parents soon took discord away when my parents heard bad situations like these and im glad I dont use discord... Not as often anymore. I only use it for personal stuff like talking to my friends or hear any game updates. I heavily appreciate that you spread awareness like these. I pray for every children's safety and never experience this. It hurts so badly.

Found out very recently from a few of his online exes who reached out to me, that not only was he 17 years old, but he also regularly sent d pics to random girls on Roblox through Snapchat and Discord, made a 12 year old send pics of herself to him when he was 16, and talked very openly about having a grape fantasy. Luckily, the main girl who reached out to me was a sweetheart and was so nice about everything, and we regularly play together and chat now. This is exactly why I use parental controls for my sister's account, I've seen horrible things on there and I've seen how flawed and pathetic the moderation is, I would get warnings for making decals of my own artwork even though it never broke the terms of service, yet people make inappropriate shirts and characters and can even bypass the chat and say horrific things.

I’m going to put my own story.
This happened to some others on a server me and my sister were playing on. Me and her were about 15 almost 16, And we were playing sword burst.
It’s usually a pretty safe place, and wasn’t very interactive when it came to other players outside of teams. And even then, most only teamed when beating dungeons.
Me and my sister were grinding for points, and two other users came over to try and avoid a male player. And asked if they could hang with us until he left them alone, as he wasn’t being overly weird or creepy at that point. We agreed and hid out with them in the dungeons.
This male player then came over and started harassing us and saying very inappropriate things.
Me and my sister told him to buzz off and leave the girls alone and he did for a time.
But when we all believed he logged off, and they separated from us, he chased and started up again.
Asking for their numbers, instas and other socials. Which is against policy.
The 4 of us reported him, and when he realized we were sending detailed reports, he left as quick as possible. I later found him in the searches, and he had gotten his account banned. Whether it was due to our reports, or something else, we were glad he was gone.
In all honesty, what we should have done was told the girls to report him, and log off. But we didn’t. I am glad younger me and my sister were smart enough not to leave those girls alone with him. I’ve had a few others try to approach me in games and immediately try to do inappropriate behavior. But I’ve always told them to bug off and report (I’ve been playing since I was about 9, and only played with friends and people I knew IRL) even now that I’m much older, I only play and speak to those I know IRL in games. With very few online exceptions where I’m highly careful and never divulge information that could harm me.
Be careful. Stay smart. Never let anyone know details about you. And if anyone like this approaches you online or irl, run as fast as you can. Don’t indulge it. Don’t try and be a good person. Report, block, and move on.

Discord scares me. My kids use it to talk to friends and I monitor it and constantly talk to them about this type of thing. But a lot of kids think they are invincible and think it won’t happen to them.

I think that roblox has actually started doing something about e-dating as when you want to report someone there is now a news category for e-dating
if they leave immediately, then they are most likely a predator, but if they stay they are most likely just trolling
I disagree. I don't think it's just "trolling" to message young girls inappropriate messages. Even if they're joking, it's illegal. I think they stay in game because they don't think it's as serious as it really is, and that they won't face consequences regardless.

I’m glad someone is actually doing something about this. It’s a lot better than people just flat out making jokes about it. I’ve had to report a few people myself over the years, and it’s nice to see someone trying to help fix things instead of fanning the flames with jokes.

I have been encountered with someone like some of these people. Harassing me and asking personal questions, it is very uncomfortable, and it makes me sad that those type of people still do that stuff.
