For example Music Inn 1951 has many songs she never recorded including: I know the Lord will Make a Way Yes he Will, Jesus I love you, He'll Understand and Say Well Done, I'm Bound for Higher Ground, and Just a Little Talk With Jesus. Some of her Music Inn stuff has come out on gospel compilation CD's but not much of it. She sang 21 songs there and 14 of them she never recorded. There is a lot of her stuff that I know about, but I haven't heard yet including those songs mentioned above. However, all I have to do is stay patient. A cd is supposed to come out hopefully this year of unissued Mahalia performances. It will have 8-10 songs she never recorded from 1954-1957 concerts!! There will be more songs than that on the CD but that's how many will be on there that she never recorded.
Hi! I just realized that you were the one I sent a message a couple of days ago. I was inquiring about where did you hear Mahalia's 1950 Wendell Phillips concert in Chicago? Do you think it will come out one day?
@ Khalil Canady I hope that the movie brings out more footage as well. There is a mountain of unreleased footage. Xenon pictures wanted to release her full 1969 Royal Albert Hall concert but could not secure the rights. I would also love to see her 1969 Harlem Festival Concert. Mavis Staples said that Mahalia entered singing Oh Happy Day and also she set the audience on fire with the song "Somebody Knows." I also wish Columbia would release her 1954 radio program. She sang songs such as Lucky Old Sun, Battle Hymn of the Republic, Ezekiel Saw the Wheel, Nita Juanita, Go Down Moses, and Lonesome Road. (Those are rare songs especially for a Mahalia fan). The complete radio show discography is in Schwerin's book. There are so many things that die hard fans such as I could only dream about! Lol!! I am also hoping for a release of her 1957 Newport appearance. Also, I am glad Duke's movie is based on Laurraine Goreau's book Just Mahalia Baby. Schwerin's (Got to Tell It ) book is full of inaccuracies!!! And lets not even mention her 1971 tour!!! Where is the footage. I am a Mahalia Jackson addict.

Thank you for helping me. I am glad that you did not give up...I understand now that God uses everything we go through to help us. I did not know God was such a prankster. He sure tricked me. I laugh now when I think about how scared I was and how much crying I did. I can only imagine Him laughing when we humans think we are in charge. 1. God and Jesus love all people, no matter the size or weight, no matter the color or complexion, no matter the handicap or handi-capable, no matter where they live or who they live with, no matter what job they do, no matter how much money they have or do not have , etc. 2. Mahaliafan, I really don't wanna get ahead of any projects that will be coming out. However, I can tell you I'm responsible for most of the material that will be coming soon. In terms of the Wendell Phillips concert, Mahalia did six songs for that particular concert. As far as the Newport Jazz 57 concert, she sang 13 songs. Furthermore, the source for most of this material, is from different libraries and archives around the country. Please stay tuned, you are going to be quite surprised in a couple months from now.

Yes that's good that you are helping to bring out this Mahalia material. I am looking forward to it!! Also, I heard that her selection Move on Up A Little Higher from Newport 1957 was stupendous. I cant wait until that comes forward too. I heard that she was in better voice in 1957 than 1958.
