You want a similar experience with a rich culture, working systems, and greater safety, go to New York or something. Even as I type this, my neighborhood has no electricity, and a number of people have gone missing or been murdered both yesterday and today. There are some nice people here, yes, and geographically it is beautiful, but a lot of systems don't work as they should, and the social climate is very much stuck in the past. It is strange way to be, to feel a sense of pride in your country, while complaining bitterly about things not working and always having to look over your shoulder. Just avoid.

About the town square, which we call Independence Square, it's not really "rich people next to poor people". A lot of the huge places are new developments, so they look modern in comparison to our more antique buildings, which is more common. While they've been around a long time, they're not really run-down, just old-looking. In the case of that large empty lot with a bunch of parking space, that used to be a huge commercial space that was demolished. This left buildings with sides not designed to be shown exposed. Nothing was built upon that section since. But you're not too far off from "Rich people/poor people". POS is next to Beetham, Morvant, and Laventille. Those 3 places are considered the poorest areas of our country. And for your safety, I do suggest you avoid whenever you're in the country. Also, don't be ashamed of asking for money to travel home. You're a tourist. We understand.
In our history over 179 years ago when East Indians first came on shore in 1874 they didn't bring there selves they also brought their food and culture sk yes the doubles are Indian
