As a child growing up Kurt liked Aerosmith's Rocks album and listed it as one of his favorite albums in his personal journal. He did mention in a interview early on that he liked Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin's music but hated how they wrote about their "dicks". Other than Punk Rock Kurt was a HUGE Kiss and Black Sabbath fan!
Hmmm .... "That little Casio thing"? That's a bit of a putdown, although I'm pretty sure he didn't mean it to come out that way. Young Marble Giants used a custom built drummachine, based on an article from Practical Wireless, from the mid 70's. The patterns are very unorthodox, like nothing you would ever find in a Casio.
Kurt was in London once looking for Raincoats LPs. My favorite YMG track is NITA. I got Colossal Youth in the '80s. Interesting that I liked the same bands as Kurt back then, even though I'm not a fan of Kurt himself. I did know his cousin though. Stuff I heard on WFMU, WSIA, and other college stations. And I went to the cool record stores, was a musician myself then. Another one I recommend is Salem 66.
He loved the songs of led zeppelin and aerosmith, but said that he was annoyed with the lyrics of the bands "having to do with sexism and a lot of talking about their dicks"
Young Marble giants is some sort of bands that are rather unknown today, but they're a real treasure.
Brand New Life is one of my favorites
i bought their fist album when it was released. I was listening to them today via a live video on Face Book playing my favourite track Salad Days.
He was such a handsome and talented man. What an enormous loss.

I always thought the dicks comments was stupid. Blues music is about sex. Their music was about blues music not necessarily sex
i love how he used to recommend unknown/underground bands at the rise of his fame. so many great bands that he exposed to his audience, so awesome
Cobain has recommended a band, I must follow.
I just found the Colossal Youth record on Vinyl, had given up at this point, great record, great band
Kurt had great taste.
This is soooo cool. Wow, love Kurt!
I love this.. both nirvana and YMG

Young Marble Giants in their very short existence arguably accomplished what very few bands in history are truly capable of: being original.
Of course I like Aerosmith, of course.

Miss-u-dude!
He was a class act.
I'm surprised he liked Aerosmith, he always used to complain about 'cock rock' bands like them.

Taste is a peculiar thing.

Aerosmith is not a typical cock rock band man..
Yeah I don't get how you can love Aerosmith and hate GNR that is pretty contradictory lol. Love Kurt's music regardless though.
@@tomasfernandez1875 what?

essa banda é bem legal mesmo

If Kurt Cobain became a Zombie... Well... I would consider joining the Zombie Apocalypse..
