I hope the brother who went undercover is now running the company. I dont like the older brother. He'd make me not want to buy from that company. The younger brother gets it. He's worth investing in.

It was nice to see an employee like Nicole actually try to help him instead of making fun of him or pointing out his errors as I see quite a few employees do both on this show and in life. She was encouraging him along the way. She'd probably make a great manager.
He should appreciate that his brother gave up a career as a lawyer to help him in his business . When he ask for help. Stop treating your brother less than you or little brother. Your not his boss. You both are equals and you should treat him that way . Instead of always putting him down .
Its buisness dude, if being a lawyer was more profitable he shoulda done it... he knew what buisness with his brother ment, he wanted to hook onto the company

I would imagine or maybe hope, that the older brother treats his bros worse than other employees and doesn't do things like point out their mistakes in front of other employees.

To Chris, I watch your video and your stores are very unique and fill with the flowers you used in the recipes. But keep in mind when you called or send orders to regular florist. It hard to get some flowers to fill your orders. And if you don't fill the orders to receipts just right they want a refunded. And whatever the price of the arrangements are is what they the shop. They need the delivery money too. I have work in many shops I been designing for 44 years now. And seen this happen at everyone. This is why your florist don't want to except your orders. Because alot of the arrangements are not price high enough to make return back. And like the designer in your video said, you need to retired some of them designs
I literally did not know that 1 800 Flowers were actual stores. I seriously thought it was ONLY online. So I have to agree that the cities that do have those stores MORE ADVERTISING is needed. This was a very informative episode. You did great Chris!
I tried to use them once, about 1982 or so, flowers never got delivered. Never tried to use them again, but then thet was 40 years ago, maybe they are better.

The full episode is on Hulu, season 1 episode 9. He named a flower arrangement after the lady who attracted a lot of customers into her store (Dee's Paradise is the arrangement name). He created an incentive program for the chocolate factory when they exceed their goals. He provided opportunity for the lady who makes the arrangements to take a training and come up with an arrangement for the company. He asked the lady in the store that no one knew about to work with the marketing department. He offered the young guy the opportunity to be his mentor and $25K towards his own franchise when he is ready to do so.
Yea, they also own a good number of other companies. For example, 1-800 Flowers owns Harry & David’s which is a high end seasonal store that sells desserts and other food + snacks. You'll usually see them open pop-up stores in malls around this time of the year.
I've ordered many times though 1-800- flowers. it depends on the destination on how good of a product you receive. the flowers are arranged as close to the destination as possible. if it's in a not so wealthy area, you're not getting what you see in the picture.
I agree. Will not be using this company and will make sure family, friends and colleagues are aware of their poor service, flowers and false advertisements.
They found common problems like any other company, luck of constant review of processes, interest on personnel work satisfaction and interaction between company's level. But Chris can provide that push of some areas they left behind while developed the growing of their businesses.
I find it interesting that the most common problem between all of these companies is lack of communication between the upper management and the workers. I also find it interesting that the higher up in the company you go the more money you make but the further away you get from actually bringing in money to the company. I understand managing your assets is an important job, but I think in 100 years will look back and recognize it as a fundamental flaw in our current form of capitalism. We're seeing the consequences of it unfold right now with the labor shortages
They are different sets of skills: Administration and line. I think this program is great in that it helps to bridge the two. No business is going to thrive if the administration is poor. The two need to work together.
So true.. my dad runs his own landscaping business.. he’s a university graduate with a degree in accounting and he’s made enough and is old enough to retire.. but he’s still out there working getting dirty right along with his employees.. he says he’s been there since day one and it’s the only way to really know how business is going and how his guys are doing.. he loves it..
I had nothing but trouble with 1-800 Flowers when I call cuz they got people overseas that don't understand you very well and have animals in the background making noise. I need to stick to the USA customer service division not overseas. Also most management positions do not understand their employees or what they go through that's why they're having trouble getting people to work. People feel unappreciated overly worked and no one listens to them
They screwed up two times with me and once with my sister sending flowers for my sis-in-law for my brother passing away. Yes, they sent a second arrangement for free and a credit but they didn't get it right three times for one death. Will not use again.
@Jennifer Runnestrand: I'm sorry to hear about the delivery issues you have experienced. If you email WeCare@1800flowers.com, we'll take care of it for you. Thanks! Aminah.
Same thing happened to me for my brother’s funeral. I was positively gobsmacked when I saw the arrangement that had been sent to the funeral home. I was in enough distress, I didn’t need that. My wonderful husband put it in our vehicle before anyone else arrived. I threw it in a dumpster on the way home. I never called, I’m still reeling from his death. I may be out $250 but that’s nothing compared to being without my brother. I’ll never use them again. It was supposed to be white lilies and roses. Someone thought it would be appropriate to be put bloody pink roses in it instead. PINK!!
Thanks for contacting us. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing this. If you email WeCare@1800flowers.com, we'll take care of it for you. Thanks! - Sarah

I love 1-800-FLOWERS! I use them all time ~ they ARE my go-to for flowers! Their arrangements are never skimpy, and that's the reason I use 1-800-FLOWERS exclusively because their arrangements are full ~ overflowing with flowers, which is how a bouquet needs to appear: tall and full.
You could have two people on the chocolate machine, I bet you could optimize it and get more chocolate processed that way, so they arent rushing to do everything, which causes mistakes and injuries, 1100 pounds per day per person is a lot of weight.
I was thinking that too....or have those boxes pre-made with the lining so they could cut out a step. Watching that part made me think of Lucy and Ethel at the candy factory. I know I'd be tempted to try and eat the candy if I worked there. LOL
800 flowers ceo were the most greediest people i have ever seen. They did not give there employees not 1 red cent like other shows helping employees with bills or tuition etc
I know why they cut it off, they didn't give shit to the people that Chris worked with, one of them got a freaking bouquet named after her, 2 others were given extra work, someone else just got input and jose will get 25K towards a franchise in the future IF he qualifies that they could easily have given for free to him.
I ordered twice from this company and both orders failed. 1st order delivered to California and my mom said the flowers were wilted. Second order forgot the glass vase. Quality over Quantity.?....
For me brothers do what brothers do best, annoy each other. Good thing is he still sees the positive in the situation when he says the CEO coming in he was able to see and exprience how the stores treat them.
Sugar, fat, chocolate. Children suffocating under their own weight. Millions over millions of tons of food thrown away permanently. When somebody says "we produce 10 million tons of chocolate a year, but next year we want to produce 16 to 20 million tons", it is for me the equivalent (for U.S. citizens: "the same thing") of somebody running ahead into a wall again and again while babbling "blllblllblllblllblll".
A group of friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise the funds. Since everyone liked to buy flowers from the men of God, the rival florist across town thought the competition was unfair. So, the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town to "persuade" them to close. Terrified, they did so - thereby proving that Hugh, and only Hugh, can prevent florist friars.
I can understand the older brothers depth of feeling for the company. Sometimes we become set in our ways , we like the familiar and I can't blame him for that. I think both brothers bring a different perspective to the company, the old and new coming together to create a little bit of the old and a little bit of the new, and it meshes well together. You need that in a company. It's so important to not stray too far from what made the business a success , you don't want to become too new because you end up being an unfeeling corporation . Things will feel robotic. It HAS to be family friendly. Yet it also has to branch out into the art of flowers, competition is rife even in the UK to ensure you are on top of the trends. It is what keeps people coming back, yet you also need that family feel where customers feel cared for and listened to.
Okay, from Entertainment Weekly: When we arrived at the show’s standard doling-out-the-rewards final segments, Undercover Boss seemed to address some of the criticisms that I and others have aimed at the series. Instead of just giving Nciole, the employee lucky enough to come into contact with the (co-)boss, a raise, Chris announced an “incentive system” to be implemented for people throughout the company who exceed their goals. That’s nice. So was giving hard-working Jose money and mentoring to eventually become a franchise-owner. And Dee seemed pleased that 1-800-Flowers was going to name an arrangement after her.
I know why they cut it off, they didn't give shit to the people that Chris worked with, one of them got a freaking bouquet named after her, 2 others were given extra work, someone else just got input and jose will get 25K towards a franchise in the future IF he qualifies that they could easily have given for free to him.
I spent 30 minutes or more typing up my bad experience with not one but three orders last week 11/2021. Including one funeral arrangement. And start looking at video and it got erased. So unfair. I just wanted someone in upper management to know how frustrating and expensive it was not to get at least close to what we ordered 😪
Agreed! I work as a florist and we receive these internet request from 1800flowers online orders, where they are offering this amazing product at a sale price. That sale prices undercut these other florists. I can't make a mixed vase with lilies roses and hydrangea in a large vase with variety of greens and fillers for $40 when most of those flowers cost $5-10 per stem! We as smaller florist lose money on almost every one of their orders!
Wish I had a relationship with my brother like this. My brother hates me because I try to help him through life with the right decisions. While he is the best money maker he needs help in my opinion

It’s always troubling when someone in this show says “I’m the nuts and bolts guy” but needs to go undercover to find out what the nuts and bolts are like. Also… there’s no such thing as an out of work housepainter.
So I have watched a shit load of these shows and i do enjoy them. I still always have an issue with the fact that it is only when someone has a great story that Undercover Boss "fixes" things. They fix an individual's problem but it seems they don't change the overall issues in the company. Yes I know it is a "reality" show.
Bummer the video ended before the end of the show- the best part! The oldee brother a bully. I have an older brother with that same abusive streak. Doesnt look like Chris is married. Such a great guy, he's missing the icying on the cake of life. One suggestion. Location, location, location. The co, should foot the bill to relocate the store with no foot traffic. If neighborhood too upscale, doubtful that will ever change to improve business. I love 1-800 flowers but needs to improve selection. Had to shop elsewhere the last time shopping online for flowers.
Very informative! I only wish that when I order from 1800flowers online I could get the arrangement I want. Most that I order in Florida can’t be delivered in N. Y. Not available in that area!! All the time. 😕

@@jackie1502 Huh. This comment has really icky vibes, a total lack of empathy, and a strong scent of entitlement.
It’s great to hear your message Skye. So wonderful you have made this decision. Your a gem. Looking forward to our future🙏❤️
such thoughtful observations. The kind of man I want to work for and the kind of boss I would like to be.
Chris has been CEO since 2016. This undercover boss was circa 2010
"Listening to the people who are actually doing the work is, how we learn"
"Build a connection first and do business second"
Exactly!
PINK!!

Seems strange...
I buy flowers through here. Usually for my mom and grandma on holidays and birthdays.
I love them, they always give them amazing flowers and gifts for me.
Thank you for your business and helping me create special memories with my family
AWWW, You cut it off too soon! Employee incentives for reaching goals is wonderful, making her a boss is very good, she deserves it. I can only hope the ending of this show is that a few more people GET THE HELP THEY NEEDED!
I know !!!

It's showsike this why I started my company. One day I hope I'm in the spot to really help those around me like this
I'm looking to start a business. Where did you get start up capital?
My own pocket. Worked and saved then killed my credit
Awww, I wanted to see what happened with the young dude who lost his father at a young age and went to work to help support his mom. He was such a sweet kid. 😫 Oh well, thank you for posting what you did.. much appreciated. 👍🏼😊🌻
She KNOWS their NAMES too.
What a LOVELY lady💙💙
God Bless the working person!
Intention is really good
This giving me good perspective on great America
There are a lot to be improved
There are many good Americans as.well
I am learning a lot about how to relate to another human being through this TV reality show wonderful..
Video cut short, no ending 😢😢😢
I love 1-800-FLOWERS! I use them all time ~ they ARE my go-to for flowers! Their arrangements are never skimpy, and that's the reason I use 1-800-FLOWERS exclusively because their arrangements are full ~ overflowing with flowers, which is how a bouquet needs to appear: tall and full.
It is a pity that the last part of the video was cut off
What happen to the end, the best part ??????
Thank you.
2:07 looks like Williamsburg Brooklyn Graham Ave if Im not mistaken.
where is the ending, oh i hate that ☹️ the ending is the best part of the show grrrrrrrrr
You could have two people on the chocolate machine, I bet you could optimize it and get more chocolate processed that way, so they arent rushing to do everything, which causes mistakes and injuries, 1100 pounds per day per person is a lot of weight.
I would be crying trying to pack those boxes 😂
I was thinking that too....or have those boxes pre-made with the lining so they could cut out a step. Watching that part made me think of Lucy and Ethel at the candy factory. I know I'd be tempted to try and eat the candy if I worked there. LOL
800 flowers ceo were the most greediest people i have ever seen. They did not give there employees not 1 red cent like other shows helping employees with bills or tuition etc
Not even a promotion or pay raise. Nestle's Toll HSE COO did so much better
I know why they cut it off, they didn't give shit to the people that Chris worked with, one of them got a freaking bouquet named after her, 2 others were given extra work, someone else just got input and jose will get 25K towards a franchise in the future IF he qualifies that they could easily have given for free to him.
In two weeks it will be 2022 and never heard of 1 800 Flowers had local shops.
But aren’t there a Part two?
Little Brother you are great 😘🌹🌷
I ordered twice from this company and both orders failed. 1st order delivered to California and my mom said the flowers were wilted. Second order forgot the glass vase. Quality over Quantity.?....
Oh my! I am sorry to hear you have had a bad experience. If you email WeCare@1800flowers.com, we'll take care of it for you. Thanks! - Aron.
No full ending. Cheated after watching up to the end.
I see alot of comments hating on the older brother and I'm proud to say Chris is now in charge ! Well, since 2016 😊
Seriously?! That’s awesome!
If it’s true, about time too. Still watching this program, older brother turning up in the shop disgraceful.
Not full episode?
My friend was on this show. They need to have the bosses looking over there companys more often. Year 2009-2010.
Aww, heyell naww! No You didn't!?! LMAO 🤣
Love it!!!🤣🤣🤣
I was getting upset as your story unfolded...thanks for the smile at the end.
I wasn't sure where this comment was going, but I'm so glad I finished it
The mob struck again!
Knew the second MA location looked too familiar . It’s Waban! Now closed permanently but how cool !
I learn a lot from this video.
God bless you
oh great no ending ... the best part
at 29:29 the employee takes the receipt even though the undercover boss paid for the meal. On the receipt he probably saw the name HAHAHAHHAA
"Tell me who you are without telling me who you are" 😂
Some people don't appreciate
Like this big boss
He have to give some appreciate for this young wonderful brother
The older brother is a jerk. Totally wrong for him to come in there and disrespect his brother like that In front of everyone.
He explained it here that CBC suggested that move ruclips.net/video/P8kAdwD4aD4/видео.html . It could be true
What a good cry you gave me. What a good heart you have❤❤❤❤❤❤
Their parents are still here and very proud ❤️
cut the best part off where he talks to the people!!!
Forreal wtf. I wonder if it made them look bad because they didn’t give them too much
He gave them fuck all.
I. Actually super upset I Sar here for 35 min Nd didn't get to see the best part.
Okay, from Entertainment Weekly:
When we arrived at the show’s standard doling-out-the-rewards final segments, Undercover Boss seemed to address some of the criticisms that I and others have aimed at the series.

Glad they cared about you and answered you!!! Always better to email..💓
Re-Type it to the BBB.
800flowers is an order gatherer. They screw the customers and the shops. They've gotten worse over the last 20 years.
Where is the rest of the show
My daughter and I always ordered flowers they are pretty but sometimes they don’t deliver on time or Miss delivery to the wrong house

They need to re-evaluate again. I stopped buying from 1800flowers because they never deliever what is shown on the website.

31:14 "I'll never quite" wow do I relate to that.
I didn't realize 1800flowers was a store 😳. I also thought it was only online
I quit ordering from this company after getting making 2 orders and they where absolutely horrible. And I mean horrible. It was upsetting.
When they got to the chocolate factory and the lady said they were making peanut butter pretzels, I was like, "Oh, Hell Yeah!!"
🤤🤤🤤🤤
This episode was really good until they cut it off at the best part of the show! What'd they get??
It’s always troubling when someone in this show says “I’m the nuts and bolts guy” but needs to go undercover to find out what the nuts and bolts are like.
Also… there’s no such thing as an out of work housepainter.
12:51 that dudes face 🤣 "pfft amateur"
Why does it just cut off before the end :(
So I have watched a shit load of these shows and i do enjoy them.
Hi Jill, thank you so much for reaching out to us. Please email any inquiries that you may have to wecare@1800flowers.com so that we can assist you there. - Thadeo
The climate is very different in NY than in Florida. Of course you can't get the same flowers all the time.
Where is the ending for the others?
He's got some great employees. 💙
My Mom was in the business her entire life.
Last shop she was at was Boca Ratton Florida.
omg, I just saw advertisements for this company a couple of days ago!
Would of been nice to see the rest of the employees stories of reward.
Wish i could have seen the rest of this one. What happened?
The older brother is a narcissist. He had no business "popping" in on Chris. He looks condescending, always. I won't be buying any flowers until he and Chris switch roles. Chris needs to be CEO.
The reason why the company is strong the siblings are blessed to bind together even though misunderstanding.
Why was the ending cut off?! There was more to the ending than just that! I wanted to see the rest! 😢
I know why they cut it off, they didn't give shit to the people that Chris worked with, one of them got a freaking bouquet named after her, 2 others were given extra work, someone else just got input and jose will get 25K towards a franchise in the future IF he qualifies that they could easily have given for free to him.
@@filipv2167 Oh, dang! 😢
Where is the end of the video? Abruptly cuts off.
They would be more productive at the chocolate factory with two people doing the boxes instead of one.
That was funny watching! Boxes and bags should be made up ahead
