One of the first 'cover songs' I did in a garage band, 1971 7th grade talent show. It got a good rebellion applause, not necessarily a talent/sound mix applause.
The secret to Sabbath is that they play without time, but are so tight. Comes with hours and hours of practice with massive musical chemistry and brotherhood. Living in the back of a van without killing each other after 3 months gets you early Black Sabbath.
I know you guys are backed up with requests (excellent) but the live performance, in 1970, in Paris, is absolutely phenomenal. Listen to them when you can.
Brits got the old blues records from American sailors in British ports. They took those old blues artists to heart and made something of it. Made it their own.
Sabbath have so many great songs. Hit after hit, and so technically competent. True legends. Their music along with Zeppelin, Floyd and others, is timeless.
SO many Rap artists have worked with Ozzy and sampled his stuff!!! Btw, Ozzy was JUST inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame for the SECOND time, the first time was with Black Sabbath in 2009 and this year as a Solo artist!!! Ozzy is a LIVING LEGEND!!!! The Iron Man!!! The Metal Madman and the Prince of Darkness!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
You guys have discovered the acorn that became the oak tree of metal. No metal exists without Black Sabbath..so stoked you get them and their importance to an entire genre.
I believe that metal fans aren't made or created. They are born. Metal lays dormant in your blood until you hear that first chord and then it awakens. Generational is right. There are two albums that are such pure forces of absolute musical genius that they have found new fans across the generations since their release. Those are Black Sabbath's Paranoid and Pink Floyd's Darkside of the Moon. Those two albums became bigger than their genres, than their own bands, than just music. They became almost mythical.
My most fervent wish is that your generation listen and learn and make your own music with the same passion and love that these guys did. We need new music. It can be done. It just takes passion and hard work!
I love seeing people experience this stuff for the first time. Gives me those Sabbath goosebumps all over again. 1:50 when bro doesn't even realize the song is just getting started lol.
Black Sabbath conjured magic that continues today. They will never be forgotten. A concert when they were 70 had every generation possible in the audience.
3:55 that laugh says it all, I Ssooo know! We all know! Did you ever think music This F-IN good even existed ❤ Love y'all, love seeing new fans being made and especially when they get like y'all do. This was everything 🤟🤘🤟🤘
Love watching your reactions to Sabbath for the first time. I've been listening to them for about 25 years, and they still hit the same thanks guys please react to Black Sabbath. The Writ it's a another display of how versatile all 4 members really are
I don't know if it was intentional or sheer luck, but y'all started with THE inventors and THE perfectors of metal. Nothing has come close since, and there has been a lot of good shit! Sabbath is 1 of maybe 3 bands that when I listen to them I have the same visceral reaction I did when I first heard them 35 or so years ago. Keep it up guys, love the vids!
It’s so freaking awesome now, imagine what it was like. When it came out, imagine what young people thought because there was not hardly anything like this going on, it was all new and experimental and free, and it was wild! It was the beginning of heavy metal there were a couple other groups like Deep Purple out there doing it, but these guys were the godfather‘s in my book.
The music was written by the great lead guitarist and creative genius Tony iommi (eye-OWE-me), who influenced just about all music that came afterward. The lyrics were usually written by the outstanding bass player, Geezer Butler, who had great chemistry with iommi. Check out a lyric video of Into the Void and also Megalomania and Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath.
I still talk about Black Sabbath nowadays if anyone will listen. I also used to play guitar and I could play all of those riffs.❤❤ guitar. Enough about me, I like your reaction There’s some serious grooves going on here.
Yeah, I feel y’all.. Sabbath was my favorite band growing up in the 70’s, but back then, really all music was on point. That being said, if Sabbath is totally your trip, then what you said might be true for you, that no one can recommend anything YOU will like “better” than Sabbath. But, rest assured, that when diving into the late 60’s and 70’s there’s a freaking gold mine of great bands to be discovered.. they’re not Sabbath, but they can still hit very hard, just different. Bands back then were really into finding their own groove, and though they might influence each other in ways, they seemed to be keen on sharpening their own game, and were each very unique unto themselves.. it’s like they were in competition with themselves to do what they do better than they’d ever done it before. Another hard hitting band from that era would be Deep Purple, especially their early stuff. Led Zeppelin is another, and though I’ve seen you’ve reacted to a few of their tracks, they’re another rare example of a band whose entire catalog is consistently top shelf, though they’re more musically diverse in style, throwing in some folksy ballads for the ladies, but are all done with solid execution and equally great lyrics to boot. There’s really enough great bands and great music from this era to keep anyone doing reactions busy for a solid 3 years time span. Sabbath, like many other bands of this era were really turned on and influenced by American Jazz and Blues, believe it or not. Bill Ward, like many drummers from this era was really into Jazz pretty heavily, and Tommi Iommi has a guitar style that is firmly rooted in 12 bar Blues, same as Jimmy Page from LZ, and same with countless other guitar godz from that era. If you want something really hard hitting that has a similar impact and consistency of Black Sabbath, you should Deep Dive the band TOOL. I’m sure you may have reacted to a couple of their songs already, (I’d recommend “The Grudge” or “Jambi” if haven’t heard em yet) but they have a bunch of songs that’ll get you pumped up in a similar way as Sabbath has for you now, just a more modern slant on it. With Metal stuff, the SLAYER stuff from the 80’s is pretty Badass. “Angel of Death”, “Chemical Warfare”, “At Dawn They Sleep”, and “War Ensemble” are notable standouts. As far as more 70’s Heavy Hitters go (aside from LZ or Deep Purple), you should check out some of this stuff: *Jimi Hendrix & The Band of Gypsies- “Machine Gun” (Live at the Fillmore East, 1970.. make sure it’s the longer version, not an edit) *SANTANA- “No One To Depend On” or “Hope You’re Feeling Better”*The MC5- “Kick Out The Jams” *Motörhead- “Ace of Spades” *AC/DC- “What’s Next To The Moon?” or “Live Wire” *Nazareth- “Hair of The Dog” or “Miss Misery” *Aerosmith- “Round and Round” or “Nobody’s Fault” * Alice Cooper- “Billion Dollar Babies” or “Under My Wheels” *Judas Priest- “Victim of Changes” or “Delivering The Goods” *Van Halen- “On Fire” or “I’m The One “ Also, on a side note, it seems y’all have barely even scratched the surface of Jimi Hendrix. His popular radio tracks are good, but don’t do him justice. “Machine Gun”, listed above, is a must for Hendrix, but some other more obscure tracks are Critical Hits for Hendrix, and really shouldn’t be overlooked. Check these out if you get a chance: *”Are You Experienced?” *”If 6 Was 9” And Definitely THIS: “In The Year 1983 (A Merman I should Turn To Be)” Awesome channel, guys. Sorry for the long comment, but since you asked, I figured I’d toss in my two cents. ROCK ON! 🤘 😎
'I'm so glad you guys found this band. When this was first released I was in High School. Me and my buddies drove around partying like crazy with the volume turned all the way up. Really really good stuff. Think of all the people you are turning on to this band. Look at it this way. For all the people you are helping to discover this you two are ahead of the curve. There are still many who haven't heard it yet. Thanks!
I got to catch the original lineup the very last time they played ozzfest it was perfect around when this song came on it started to rain and thunder it was perfect
Cypress Hill (major hip hop guys) sampled Sabbath on there Album "Black Sunday" which is a shot out to sabbath song "I Ain't Goin' Out Like That" sampled the harmonica from "The Wizard"
No one is better than Black Sabbath. If you wanna hear some stuff influenced by them, well then that’s a different story. Soundgarden, for instance. My favorite song by them is Outshined.❤
This was our lives. This is what we experienced. Massive amounts of crazy good music. Sabbath is awesome, but Zeppelin, Pink Floyd The Who, The Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and on and on will blow your minds. Try Ramble On or When The Levee Breaks from Zeppelin. And for more Sabbath, spin A National Acrobat, Sabra Cadabra, and Spiral Architect of their album Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
Paranoid is so badass!!! So many great riffs came out of this album bros. I’m still trippin y’all haven’t reacted to “Iron Man”, “ Paranoid”, & “Electric Funeral” ….Tony Iommi, Black Sabbath’s guitarist, is the king of metal riffs 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Think you got black sabbath pinned. If ur lucky enuf to get to their song Planet Caravan, your mind will be blown out of this world. Like the title suggests. It took me many years to come upon its existence. And I had listened to quite the lot of their hits over several years
One of my favorite jams ❤ you don’t hear this stuff anymore because rap took over but there is so much good rock ‘n’ roll music out there guys Black Sabbath is one of my fave. I still have their albums from the 70s.
Sabbath is pure fire in a class of their own, Best Bass try the real me by The Who, and for drums Neil Peart Rush 2112 album, best guitar too many greats but Joe Satriani flying in a blue dream, I'm a old head boomer stoner hippie There ya go Those all will freak your minds Happy New Years you two✌️

Metallic ripped off the short outro riff of this Black Sabbath song... they used it in "For Whom the Bell Tolls"

Hi there- that was a great point. I hadn't been able to explain weird time/tempo stuff that is going on.
Thank you.
At least you guys understand why people say Black Sabbath started metal and changed music..
"Planet Caravan", by Black Sabbath.
Black Sabbath is amazing and people nowadays don’t realize what Ozzy was a part of back then
I know you guys are backed up with requests (excellent) but the live performance, in 1970, in Paris, is absolutely phenomenal. Listen to them when you can.
Their best live performance in my opinion especially Black Sabbath, war pigs, and hand of doom
ONE guitar...only Tony
Well yeah... but he recorded his own guitar harmonies
Brits got the old blues records from American sailors in British ports. They took those old blues artists to heart and made something of it. Made it their own.
This is the closer on one of the greatest albums ever made. What a band.
I put a new stereo on my 66 Belair recently. The first song it ever played was A National Acrobat - Black Sabbath. LOUD
Oh, time for my obligatory suggestion of Bit of Finger/Sleeping Village/Warning
That one is a must, PERIOD!!!
The Godfathers of Metal
Black Sabbath changed everything.
He said smokin and trippin is all that you do..
Ozzy agreed and said... YEEAAHHH!!

Black Sabbath conjured magic that continues today. They will never be forgotten. A concert when they were 70 had every generation possible in the audience.
One of my favourite things is watching younger generations hear the music. I grew up to keep going boys cheers from Alberta.
One guitar one bass, drums and Ozzy singing and with the harmonica
Wanna hear something totally unexpected from Black Sabbath? Planet Caravan is the answer. Also on the Paranoid album
