You might try and shred the weeds before they seed out and then fertilize. Healthy grass may choke the weeds out over time.
Thanks for the idea. That is recommended by Tx A&M. My only problem is the different weeds mature at different times so Id be mowing the cows grass at different stages. Leaving less to graze and rotate if that makes sense. Very much worth a try.
After mowing, cover with old cheap hay for the seeds. When the field grows, rent goats for de-weeding. For muddy spots, cover with wood chips.
Thank you for the input. Got some hay lined up for one area. Planned on mowing, so I will put hay down after. Thanks for the tip.
@@LivingTexasHas anyone told you that you look like Pastor Paul Begley
Omg! No. But I listen to him all tge time. Lol
You may not be a huge rancher out there…but in Baytown you would be John Dutton
Lol. I know Baytown real well and so do you. Not sure I could walk in John Duttons boots.
Cover crop......a legume that will put nitrogen into your soil.
Great idea. I have thought of other crops but never in that way. I will definitely look into it. Thanks for the input.
