I had a similar incident happen to me. I found a 60's Hagstrom acoustic in a pawn shop near me and it was very obvious that this guitar had been played continually for decades. It had a name etched into the neck plate so I did some research and found out he was a fairly well-known local Irish musician who, until recently, owned an Irish pub and would play there almost every night. I bought the guitar and went down to the pub and actually just happened to run into his son there. He called up his dad and, sure enough, I had found his guitar that he purchased in Ireland in the 70's and that he had played almost every day since then up until it was stolen out of his house a few years ago. Being able to reunite him with such a huge part of his life was an amazing feeling.
I have a guitar for sale locally, and I'm shopping for an SG. If I find/see or run across Robby's guitar, I will snag it/or pass the info on to you/ or the authorities, depending on the sich, to get it back to him! I don't want, or would ever take anything for it. It's more like returning a lost child! 8) Good on you guys for the PSA! Peace 8) --gary
I'd want to return it to Robby and be happy over being in the vibe and the connection to such great songs with Krieger's superb unique and unstated guitar licks. Otherwise for me, having physical possession of the guitar wouldn't be all that meaningful.
I have a guitar of Robbie’s. It’s a Geronimo Amezcua, he bought from McCabe’s in Santa Monica I think when he was in high school. He was my dad’s friend or roommate. Be happy to return it to him. I think my pop’s traded his steel string for it.
I know this is about Robbie Krieger and his guitar as well as his family and I sincerely hope he gets it back, it's just not right, but I wish I could get back my two stolen and now Missing guitars. At least my bass. A green P-Bass shaped object with a maple neck and fretboard with a Telecaster shaped headstock and Fender Telecaster decal. All "gold" hardware including the pickup covers and last time I saw it, it had green neon coated strings. Also, the jack is on the side and not on the pickguard. No Ser. No. May God forgive me for posting this.
This would suck having a great vintage piece then finding out it was stolen. Like if my 1961 Les Paul Jr was stolen 50 years ago from a iconic rocker it would break me having to return such an amazing guitar but it would be the right thing to do
I imagine the reward (and I don't mean money or a signed book) of returning it would make it worth it. It probably would be a miserable moment when you first realized it, though.
I have mutual friends with Robbie. I have the lost guitar. I will show it to him at some point. The body has been sanded and refinished. Serial numbers are faint but match the proper number... not the one these guys just gave. 88779 is correct. This guitar has been in LA all its life. I am the 3rd owner since Robbie...or therebouts after the Sunset Sound thief, that is. It was owned by the Bridges (as in Jeff and Lloyd) acting family around 69. It is beat and rock and rolled to hell. No one was looking for it until recently, so... there you go.
This is probably why I’m poor. If I had Robby Kreiger’s guitar I’d probably ask him for a cool trade and be happy the man who helped write all of those songs I loved had his axe back.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this guitar is worth no more than the average used price, being stolen merchandise. What with the internet being readily available, and the fact that Krieger is prominent and can legally pursue this, isn't he is the only one for whom this guitar is worth more than retail used?
Robby & I got along pretty well. He does have quite a Napolian complex though, distrusting anyone taller than him! We went to Guitar Center once where he had me take a Les Paul out of Robin Trower's hands, and bought it on the spot!
I think it’s sad that it’s better to meet at the police station and have serial numbers run to know your not buying stolen property. I can’t stand a thief.
I’m also a hugger. Baxter, if I ever make it to your shop I am going to hug you long enough to make you uncomfortable. It’s truly one of my favorite things to do. It amuses me. 😂🤣😂
Piss me off .... I hate thieves.... especially when the fucker that stole prolly cant even play ..... just a point ... I for one have have my eyes peeled for it ... as I do for Robby z ..... good luck guys ..... And to both robbies ...
so if I recall, in "No one here Gets Out Alive, Morrison split song writing royalties equally between all four guys. I bet Robby can pay well for the guitar
Perhaps you can hire Geraldo to film an 80s flashback video wherein he locates “Robbie Kruger’s” guitar under Al Capone’s bed but, Geraldo must stay awake or he will be clawed to death by “Kruger’s” classical guitar fingernails. (Robbie’s video image can appear to warn of the impending “guitarist shred.”)
I hope he gets his guitar back but sadly the probability of that happening is remote. Too many greedy family members. Like Dylan's Stratocaster from his electric set at Newport, they will wait for the statute of limitations to expire and sell it at Christies for $1,000,000. You know that story...Daddy was a pilot who "found" Dylan's strat "left behind" after the flight and after 50 years, the daughters get it authicated and sell it for almost $1 million. Dylan tried to devalue the guitar by saying he had the real guitar in his position, but he made an undisclosed deal with the daughters of pilot who "found the guitar." So remmeber that -- if you leave something on a plane, it becomes the property of the pilot. Not really...most state's have unclaimed property laws that cover the return of abondaned property to the rightful owner and if they can't be found it goes to the state.
I like the internet because we share knowledge and uplift each other. That’s why music is where it’s at. And I’m sure having toured the world with the Doors and played all the major venues to thousands and thousands of people that the attempted snarky put down will not effect him whatsoever. Sometimes our own insecurities get the best of us.

thats cool!!
Good on ya for making people aware of the missing guitar, guys. Hope Mr. Krieger gets it back soon.
Hoping for success in Mr Kreiger recovering his long missing guitar
Crazy !I’m currently reading Robby’s book- he mentions this guitar early on. Says he hopes whoever has it still plays it from time to time

Here's to hoping Robbie gets his guitar back!
Y'all do good works 🤘
Just one of the reasons I enjoy this channel. 👍🏽
Hope he finds it! I have always loved the Doors and will always remember trying (and failing) to learn Spanish Caravan…. RK is a master guitar player.
Obviously I have a dog in the fight. I think folks that steal guitars are the worst.
Yeah, I had my gear stolen before and there are few things in the world that can piss you off worse than having that happen to you.
Hope he gets his SG back. He should have that!
These are so sad to me. I imagine the bond I have with my guitars, and I'm a nobody.
Great show guys, Thank You!
Such a badass Magnatone jacket!
Indeed. I want one.
I'd want to return it to Robby and be happy over being in the vibe and the connection to such great songs with Krieger's superb unique and unstated guitar licks.
Otherwise for me, having physical possession of the guitar wouldn't be all that meaningful.
If i find his SG, he can keep the money. I just want to sing Light My Fire with him playing his guitar.

that'd be mad cool if he got it back. Sounds like a win win for everybody involved.
I hope it is found. Robby is my Guitar Hero.
I am glad that you guys didn't leave anything out. Like did he sell it yrs ago are was it stolen are lost in transport? When did he last have it?
Yeah, that was glaringly absent. I kept waiting for them to mention it, but it never happened.

Also, can you believe how many musicians back then had their stuff stolen!?!? It's crazy.
⚓️ Thanks Casino 😎
Come for the information, stay for Mom and Joe Robinson 💜
Last year I inherited number 957208. Close but no cigar.
That is amazingly cool. Congrats on the awesome axe.
Cool stuff, unfortunately I have had a couple sweet guitars and amps taken out by a Hurricane. I hope the SG still exists.
A friend asked me to do a build based on the tones of Townshend and Krieger. Easy SG Special as the base idea.
Hahaha, Jonathan... "as it often does" LOL
will keep an eye out. The magnatone jacket makes an appearance
I'll check all the local Pawn Shops in my area...

How did it go missing in the first place?
Stolen 1967
I gotta admit....while I'd certainly return his guitar to him....it might be a few days before I told anyone I had it ;-)
* checks apartment *
well it ain't here.
hahahaa

Did he ever get this guitar back?
You do NOT have an "oil can" guitar hanging behind your head...!
did he look in the cabinet under the sink? I find a lot of stuff I lose there for some reason.

You're corrected. Guitars that are owned or were owned by famous musicians are worth a bit more. It's due to their fame, you know?
@@216trixie That guitar is worth quite a bit to whoever bought it last as they will be rewarded handsomely for returning it!
a rich collector may certainly pay more and never display it publicly.
fist bump...boooo....hug on people, we all need some love :)
cool serial num
This guitar probably has humbuckers now with a Floyd rose.
🤣🤣🤣
Sadly you are probably right
hopefully
Don’t know who has the guitar, but it looks like Baxter has Robby’s old hair style…..
Robby & I got along pretty well. He does have quite a Napolian complex though, distrusting anyone taller than him! We went to Guitar Center once where he had me take a Les Paul out of Robin Trower's hands, and bought it on the spot!

you could hug me me to man ... but not too hard ... I'm gassy. :) Actually I am not much of a hugger. i'll fist bump though :)
Dreddy Fruger😂
Hey Jonathan, What is your favorite amp company? ROFL HAHA
I’m also a hugger. Baxter, if I ever make it to your shop I am going to hug you long enough to make you uncomfortable. It’s truly one of my favorite things to do. It amuses me. 😂🤣😂
Dokken does the music in one. Still have to album.
Someone stole it who had a grudge against Robbie and will never be found ?
No. Not a chance. Back in the day, EVERYONE got their guitars stolen.
Piss me off .... I hate thieves.... especially when the fucker that stole prolly cant even play ..... just a point ... I for one have have my eyes peeled for it ... as I do for Robby z ..... good luck guys .....
And to both robbies ...
GUYS HELP!!!!
$3k to spend on a guitar. Love a 25.5” scale with humbuckers. Own a 70’s tele deluxe already. What should I get?
so if I recall, in "No one here Gets Out Alive, Morrison split song writing royalties equally between all four guys. I bet Robby can pay well for the guitar
the thought of someone saying "just give me the money and the guitar" literally hurt my heart
and actually, i have seen a photo on instagram of jim and robby with robby as freddie

Did you check under the bed?
I love the doors. Aways will. But understand this, that guitar was stolen in the 1960s. You'll absolutely never find that guitar. Absolutely never.
If you are afraid of a handshake or a hug you are not worth doing business with.
Get your mask and head on down to GC.
Why does a 75 year-old multi-millionaire care about such things? He should enjoy what life he has left. Let it go.
Are we going to help find Robbies missing talent too?
Says you?
Lololololololololololololo
That's really fucked up bro

@@marcb4788 Looking forwarding to hearing your amazing music that surpasses The Doors.
Who cares ! Hope they never find it
