"They said I couldn't do anything. So I told them: watch me."
*they download an app that does it for them"
"And I still can't do anything."
that's what i was thinking
I was looking for this comment right here! 😂
"They said I couldn't do it"
"Microsoft, do it for me"
I think you are missing the point
They said I couldn't make a game, so instead of learning how to code, 3D model, and animate, I asked an AI and now I still can't do that
And of course there is a subscription for this called "co pilot pro' for $20 a month (not included with office 365 BTW). That dose stuff like give you "priority access" during "peak hours" etc. So don't think stuff like this will be free to use as much as you want.
"WRITE CODE FOR MY OPEN WORLD 3D GAME"
Lol yeah, I'm sure that's how it works.
It will just copy code from an existing open world 3D game that someone else has already made. From multiple such games, more probably, and without respecting the copyright on that source code.
And include lots of bugs that weren't in the original code.
*That* is how it works.
Even worse, now you have code you cant run :)
@@FindecanorNotGmail that's not how it works, it learns how to use the code to create something. it work the same way as an image generator. The AI learns.
@@FindecanorNotGmail it was literally trained on open-source code.
@@dibbidydoo4318 pretty much like any human that learned anything, nuh? 🤔
They said I couldn't do it. I proved them wrong by largely outsourcing most of the work and taking credit for it! Bazinga!
Isn't that just capitalism?
I was expecting the Nike logo to swoop across the screen at the end.
"They said I couldn't do this. I said, 'you're right, I'll let AI do it for me'."
AI is the assistant. You tell it what to do. You are the boss, AI is the help.
🤣
It’s called being an executive
Yeah I don't like that whole message of this add. AI can be great for actually learning though. There are already some cool AI powered tools to help you learn dif programing languages etc. Not do all the work for you. Or AI tools that help check your code for erorrs etc. But this idea of "I won't bother learning anything because AI can do it for me", yeahhh no thanks.
😂😂
Quite possibly the most dystopian ad I’ve ever gotten
”Write me code for my 3D open world game”
Yeah go ahead and try that brilliant prompt…
I'm sure the code works as well as Starfield
Thanks guys you helped me make a really important decision!!!
Switching to Linux
😂😂
They told me I couldn't get my degree so I had ChatGPT write my papers for me so I have one I probably shouldn't have
"HI I'm Clippy! It looks like you're trying to create a storyboard for a movie, can I help?" :)
LOL!
They said I couldn't do something, so I had an AI do it for me.
That is exactly what I was thinking.
Nothing says "I can do anything despite being doubted" like suggesting the people who are being doubted need to use AI in order to accomplish their goals.
Heck according to the ad not just accomplish their goals but have it do them for them, learning nothing, and gaining no new skills in the process. Like the part where someone types in "Write code for my open world 3D game". Not that I believe for a second Co-pilot would then spit out a bunch of code that simply works. If it did it would probably be somebody else's code it "learned" while scrapping the internet.
It's manipulative and damaging. Nasty stuff.
What a dystopian pos this ad is
Let's turn this into Microsoft's Rewind 2018!
Just remember: thanks to the dubious nature of AI media creation, the USPTO says you cannot copyright anything AI generated. So whatever you make using Co-Pilot, you cannot legally own.
That doesn't make any sense
yepp
Unless there's sufficient human input. www.copyright.gov/ai/
not what USPTO says and USPTO is the wrong agency, you're talking about the copyright office.
thanks for pointing out this critical information. do you have a reference?
*Cue generic hype music*
"Are you too lazy/dumb to get ahead by actually working at something? Have we got the product for you! For just $19.99 a month you can be equally as mediocre, but have the comfort that comes with cheating to succeed. Everyone will know too, and definitely won't judge you. Microsoft CoPilot!
*End Scene*
This commercial is hilarious. Watch me... plagiarize AI! I did it!
Lol Microsoft out here encouraging people to cheat on their homework
Robotic Plagiarism Rescues The Talentless Hordes!
I'm sure that's why Microsoft is trying to shove it down my throat every time I touch something on my computer.
A successful product does not need to do that. (or say that it's there to help you hceat)
Wow! @Microsoft!
"AI won't replace humans. Humans with AI will replace humans without AI". -Karim Lakhani, HBS Professor
You're putting AI in the hands of humans... you're helping give people superpowers.
Beautiful!
Saying that AI will replace humans is somewhat akin to saying that calculators replaced mathematicians 🤔
Probably a bit of a stretch as a comparison. But still, that's the idea
@@Naps284 at one point ai will do everything humans did then what?
@@vampyrkiller I don't know. You tell me 😂
Then what?
@@vampyrkiller What worries you so much?
I ask copilot to pretend im 7yr old, then ask to explain complex stuff in my studies. It works really well
This should've been an ad for Microsoft's Take Lessons app instead
They said I'd never get my degree.
Look at me now
I had chatgpt forge my PhD
This commercial makes me want to die. "They told me I would never achieve anything, so I'm going to prove them wrong by just having some cheap AI do all my homework and design for me so I don't really have to learn how to do any of it." Great messaging.
First, they use it to steal "art" and make music. Now they even encourage it to code games for you too. No artform is safe anymore from these lazy jerks.
Google uses it to shadowban you if you write anything critical about their bad AI ventures now too

Or ... create resentment with people who had tro struggle to get where they are today.
Cheap? You know how much it cost to run an LLM?
If you think it’s as simple as that why aren’t you inspired to do or create something..I forgot you have achieved all your life goals and as a reward we get RUclips comments filled with negativity
the guy on the bed at 0:11 is gorgeous
Create him in Ai and have fun.
Copilot has been an integral component of my everyday student life. Since its inception into the windows OS, I’ve been 10x more productive with my windows platform in every aspect of my being. Copilot powered by AI models is definitely the future I dreamed of when I got my first Pc many years ago.
Yeah we know you work at Microsoft and would love to keep your job, but there's no need to butter the company so much
Said the AI marketing chatbot
@@fireworks_music 🤣 click on my name and find that I have a channel so I’m not a chatbot.
@@fireworks_music haha yes. The marketing guys at Microsoft think the common people are idiots to not notice from where this post comes from.
I suppose it wrote this comment, too. Productivity much,
But... personality, much?
I have probably used Copilot every day for the past 6 months, I have also switched from Chrome to Edge for easier access to it... This was a great move from Microsoft.
I was watching like the journey of Microsoft, on the last couple of decades and I would say the company was having some bad choices in terms of investment, corporate image and now the last couple of years has been incredibly demonstrate to all of us how the company change in the technology field the company has overcome all the dificulties and maybe on the future they will becomoe the most valuable company in the world after they have overpassed Apple.
The thing that tells that the post above was written by a marketing drone is the "switched from Chrome to Edge". Nobody does that.
@@FindecanorNotGmail yeah I tried it last year when Bing AI came out and I kept re entering my search query into google lol.
I did. Edge is just better.
@@rodneyntlemo me too, easier to use with the Copilot thing.
"Watch me"... really it's "watch the AI".. ur competition has it too so ur back to "square one"...
Competitor doesn't have the same idea or vision however, also a lot of them are slow moving on the tech so do what you are passionate about w/o needing to spend the same amount of money
And then there are their competitors who already had the actual real skills but now can use AI to assist/speed up the process. So whatever they produce with it will be better since they actually have an understanding of what it is they want/need. So your guy in the ad still sucks lol
life isn't all about competing. does someone only paint to sell the art? giving people the ability to create stuff they imagine is a win. earlier they needed to learn paint brush, then came photoshop, and now it's AI. each step makes it a bit easier for folks. AI is still just a tool, a powerful tool.
@viscrisn they aren't creating/doing anything though. The AI is. Do you go to subway and come back saying you made a sandwich 🤣
I've never had someone say I couldn't do something.
Never heard these words spoken to anyone else.
Where are all these people denouncing capabilities?
Please bring back Windows Phone smartphones, it was my favorite system after Symbian.
This is more than a little creepy. All ai is, really. I worrry for humanity and the world, what will happen when people don't take initiative to work toward learning or creating things themselves, relying instead on a computer algorithm to do it all for them as the easiest, low effort way out. :/
Is that Jadon Cal from "Soulmates" the movie in the opening scene?
I'm not sure, but the guy who's 'making' his own tow truck business is defintely Reilly Doman from Travelers.
The ad gives the subtle impression that these people could not fulfill their dreams and other people see that, before AI came around (specifically copilot, of course). Their lack of AI or even skill wasn't any of these individuals root problem. What happened to putting your mind to something and working towards it, regardless?
That's what I was thinking! This is pathetic. These people are having an AI do all the hard work for them.
@@GemSurge95Ohh this is just the start of this whole AI generated content thing. The next few years are gonna be very interesting.
This was the only superbowl commercial that was funny
:D

I was looking for u non-humans. I am surprised the algorithm didn't bring me here. You know classification is the 1st.step to integration.
So... you STILL can't do anything?

If you're looking for who or what will do all that destruction while also pulling the strings, I think you're looking in the wrong direction.
Saying that AI will cause the Armageddon or any of that kinda stuff is like saying that the atomic bomb went and nuked japan twice all by itself. 🤔
P. S.
I don't mean to say that AI won't go above and beyond anything a human could even remotely imagine. I'm saying that at that point it probably wouldn't even bother much about us "ants". And before that moment, we're probably more likely to do all that by ourselves.

Young people are changing the world. Not for the better tho.
Imagine a future where you can just put your phone next to a computer, and do whatever work by just talking to it. If all your data is on your phone, and it understands intent, people might even forget how to type on a keyboard!
This is similar to saying people won’t know how to type in phone numbers once we have smartphones since they remember everyone’s contact.
Cool anecdote, but keyboards are never going away
@@seansull IMO it's more akin to driving stick, or writing in cursive. If asked to type on a keyboard, they'll be able to figure it out, but people might forget how to type quickly at high WPM
There's some real irony with Microsoft using a theme song with "just watch me now" in it considering their horrible track record with privacy and more and more telemetry in their software.
Look, I'm OK with the uses for AI and how it can help us with various tasks. But the messaging of this ad is completely contradictory - I was cringing when I realized what they were promoting after the 'Proving the doubters wrong' introduction.
I covered this today on my podcast Hashtag Trending where I do daily tech news. It was my superbowl story. It's really well done and the angle of not replacing but enabling creators is really smart.
That's how many people end up with the same product.
This feels to me like it will destroy any type of creative process. Why go through the process of actually being creative when AI can be creative for you.
Whether you need an AI to be 95% creative for you, or as a creative person use it to amplify your own creative works, then that's your choice to make.
I get what you mean. I do think AI can be super helpful for things like people trying to learn a programming language for example. There are ways to create your own LLM's. So you could make one by "feeding" it a bunch of documentation on a programming language for example. Then along side putting actual effort in to learn you could use co-pilot to HELP. Like if you get stuck trying to do something ask co-pilot "how do I do x". IDK. The future when it comes to this AI stuff is going to be very interesting because it's just barely getting started.
@@CamAlert2 If AI is doing 95% of the work then the creator is learning nothing. Many people have ideas for movies but can't create the scripts because they have no experience or talent. This AI will only hurt these people as they will lose any desire to get the said experience to grow a talent or get an education. In short it will make people even more lazy than they already are.
All the polling shows a huge majority of artists in all kinds of fields are really against this.
The super majorities will/wishes should be respected.
Otherwise it's just willful malice at this stage.
@@spartanx169x Those sorts of people will never bother with gaining experience in the first place. All this will do is lower the ceiling for getting new ideas out there and implemented without the training or the "creative spark" that people need. No one is getting hurt in the process. I need to stress that AI tooling, no matter who is using it, is simply a means to an end. If you feel like you aren't learning how to do anything when you want it to be so, then maybe you're doing it wrong. It's up to you how you want to proceed.
Heck yeah ❤
There was a reason RUclips removed the dislikes...
We need this ad in spanish and multiple languages! Such a strong message!
Seriously? It's a weak message. It starts off feeling inspirational, like people will work hard and accomplish something great. Then they ask a computer program to do the work for them. WEAK!!! How am I supposed to feel inspired by some who asked a computer to do the thing for them?
@@erad67 the thing about using AI is that it does not resolves magically what we want to do in the first attempt. Normally, it helps speed up brainstorming or assists with information gathering. For making a great result the process needs to be reiterated a few times before getting the desired output. Perhaps in the ad it looks easy to do, but it requires some effort to execute. In the end, the message is that you can improve your productivity and output with this tool. Otherwise without more funds would be harder to do.
@@EduardoLoyoMora I'm familiar with them and have used some myself. The ad would've been MUCH better if it had focused on what you noted.
@@EduardoLoyoMora ai is going to take all of what you describe AWAAAY... it wont improve just productivity. it would just slowly remove YOU from any activity it can do and REFINE itself train itself through you. thats how it is. free models advancement . cheers- a software dev myself :)
