I was happy to get the Murakami white with multicolor sneakers, scarf, and pencil case. My SA ordered it for me, but it was still hectic and I was pressured to pick it up the same day even though I was out of town and she knew that. Oh well 🤷🏻♀️ my sneakers are so fun!
Totally agree about the LV rollout debacle. Should have been handled much better. And why did influencers even need bags? The nostalgia & hype for the collection already meant is was going to sell. There are supposed to be other drops over the next few months, hopefully they go better.
OMG right?? Like this is the one collection that honestly did not need influencers. Zendaya being the face of LV Women's made sense and she did all that was needed. No influencers were needed here. Yes there is another one in March and another one in April/May. Let's hope they get it together!

I agree someone is getting fired over the LV Launch. When they approved the lookbook, I honestly believe they thought a few stores would have extra of all of the pieces to sell non-VICs. Given their shaky sales numbers on the last couple of launches, I think they were caught off guard when the presale numbers came in. Here in the United States, most of the collection, especially bags, completely sold out in VIC presale. None of the stores I have connections to have extra stock. To add to your Paris shopping notes, I have found speaking enough French to start the conversation and then asking if the associate speaks English gets you miles ahead in service.
@@marinadennis2004 you definitely make some good points here. I think some of the slowdown can be attributed to having to launch new releases during C19 and the general malaise of luxury. That said they should have been better prepared. I am shocked they did not forecast higher pre sales and first week sales worldwide for this. Murakami is doing his bit promoting a lot, more than I normally see for these collab lines and seems grateful for this opportunity even though of course he is making a lot from it. It's good to see the collaborator genuinely promote the line. They must make improvements for Drop II and Drop III.
💯 agree with you these collection does not need influencers. The people in the generation when the original collection was released know and still feel the nostalgia. LV could have done better packaging and launch wise after all its way overpriced for what it is but having said that most collaborations are a bit expensive compare to the classic pieces simply because they need to pay the artist and money involved in the collab process.

my beef is how they marketed. if you don't have enough stock to make it out of even vic orders (i heard some pre-orders for vics were cancelled), why have an influencer or big marketing push. this might just be because i'm a sort of vic client of another brand and i get collection previews every season. it's how brands operate, not just big H. it's just that they made it seem that it was able to be ordered by everyone, which was really not the case for a lot of the hotter items. i will say that unless LV does a restock later in the year, i will finally be buying the nano speedy and regular speedy on the vintage market. i'm pretty sure a lot might be doing the same if they were waiting for an official re-release but couldn't get it. so their stock issues might have left some money on the table.

Your comment is fair and I definitely agree with your view. It's my understanding if ones VIC pre order was cancelled, it means their spending was not as high compared to other people in the store who were also competing for items. This is wrong. No ones pre order should be cancelled. I think there will be returns this month towards the end of the month and hopefully some pieces like the Nano can be ordered but once Cherry Blossoms and Cherries rolls around I'm not sure if they will restock this collection. I feel all SA’s should be respectful and willing to assist no matter what the customer came in for during “BUSINESS HOURS”. If you sale it and it is in stock let me purchase it. Some people just enjoy the big store experience. These piss poor experience will eventually further push the downfall of the luxury buying experience. 😢🤷🏾♀️🥂
Just purchased a bag in Paris yesterday the Ave Montaigne and didn’t get offered a drink. It may have been because I purchased an Alma BB and asked the price 😂. I felt better when they asked my account information and found out that I wasn’t new to this.
What I’m wondering is why is there such a huge disparity between the TM collection compared to the Kusama collection. I was underwhelmed by the store displays and the stock for the TM collection
@@sarah2576 hi thanks for commenting! I think Murakami is way more in demand and reaches more demographics of people than Kusama. I remember the original collection launching but being a young person getting ready for uni. It's nostalgic so many people are excited to have this in their collections now. I also think TM is being introduced to younger generations. From a business POV, Kusama launched during the panoramic so I think that also made it a tougher sell.
Everyone can tell when the entitled people walk into the boutiques 😂these SA’s have Radar and will shut them down quickly. They must be mostly Americans who have that Privileged Attitude also a lot of countries don’t even like tourists from the U.s , I’m an American and I see it all the time! I dont think its wrong for the client to ask for drink however a lot of factors do count like the way it was asked. There isnt any rule about it but if someone is arrogant and self entitled the SA is also human being and at the end of the day its still a business they can decide to whoever they want to have business with. Good thing I only ask for water if I'm really thirsty when Im in the boutique however I do not like how they serve the water in a glass cup. I prefer for to handed over an unopened bottled water if they decided to give me one.
