I love the harmonies at the end! Everything in this band is on point, they have so much talent. And as Kai says, I love how they're just so nonchalant when playing- I get the impression that they are not quite aware of how truly awesome they are. I also love how they look like they're having a blast onstage, especially the drummer. They have such good chemistry and flow. And they can only be, what, in their early 20s? And making music like this?! I've not really listened to rock or metal for years- but this is some of the best music I've listened to, ever!
The girls really are on an extraordinarily high-level of musicianship for their genre, which is pop-infused hard rock which crosses over to heavy metal at times. That bass player is a fucking beast and that drummer is a machine.
The "maid" theme was a stroke of genius: the visual/conceptual incongruity of maids exhibiting world-class musical skills is involuntarily mesmerizing. It also allows for change within the limits of the maid theme, though it seems, so far, they're content to "own" their uniforms. Always with the good hooks, too! I think they're the greatest, literally.
I've been on the train since 2015 and own all their albums. As they said before me, this is a small taste of Kanami and Misa. This, imho is a drum heavy song and it shows how good Akane is. Dice for Bass and Domination or Choose me for guitar.
I liked Thrill for what it was, like a proof of concept video. They've only improved, however. Only "misstep" would be the video for Start Over, and that's because we're used to seeing them in their MVs and not actors.
If you get a chance to see them live, don't miss it. They're a really strong live band. And, they don't play around. They just hit you with song after song. I saw them in Nagoya, and they did 26 songs in two hours, if I remember correctly.
It's a great band, themselves composed the music and lyrics of their songs. I recommend, if you possible, see videos of the band with subtitled lyrics (some already have subtitles), the lyrics are also impressive. My suggestion for the next reaction: "Onset", one of the best rock instrumentals I've heard. In November the band plays in the USA, but I think tickets sold out.
Nice reaction As a big fan of J-rock, they don't really sound like anything else from Japan, but rather a mashup of elements. Most other girl bands focus on Metal or Pop Rock The best way I can put it is 80s rock + 90s Nu-metal, sprinkled in with some Paramore and with soundlevels mixed in typical J-Rock fashion As lots of people say here, you'd be hard-pressed to find bad songs, although I think some are more melodic than others. Their sound has grown more heavy over the years, so if thats what you want you can jump to songs such as "DICE" "Play" "DOMINATION" etc from their lastest album [World Domination] Also, at the ending part of this song, the main change is the switch of lead vocal from Saiki to the rhythm guitarist Miku, and Saiki supporting in harmonization instead. This exchange of lead vocals was done more in their past works, but the've mentioned that they'd like to do more of this lead vocal experimentating from now on.
5:22 "you know who they remind of? ...Smashing Pumpkins" The bass player "MISA" is actually a fan is of them. Wow the fact that you were able to hear their influence in that song is amazing, dude you got great ears! If it wasn't for the research i had on them, that comment would have went right passed me.
Great reaction, great band! How about knocking out two birds with one stone and see their bass player in the spotlight in a live performance? I recommend checking out the live version of their song, "Play".
Thanks MPK for another great nuclear reaction video. Band-Maid is Crazy Tasty. My favorite songs of there's are "Dice","Play","Thrill"and"Moratorium" .Dice and Thrill are studio.Hsnks again and enjoy the ride!😎
when discovers this band real existence was my favorite... then non fiction days was my best... then yolo... now secret my lips.... lol a lot of broken schemes
Yeah, there were some vids of them practising songs. Like Akane had some drum cover (can't remember which band or song it was) and Misa covering Smashing.
"Moratorium" - freaking bass canonade assault, and "Take me higher" - awesome bass vs. guitar battle. And then if you like post hardcore, in the Japanese version with a mandatory pinch of pop, check out Ling Tosite Sigure - "Chocolate Passion".
Band-Maid is awesome (personal recommendation is Puzzle Live) and any of their other songs mentioned here are worth looking at. Please could you react to Kimarigoto (Live version) by BRATS, it's on their YT Channel. They are a young Japanese band that plays hard and grungy rock, whereas Band-Maid are clean and polished I'd say BRATS are rough and dirty. The singer is awesome and while she's only 17, as a frontwoman she could take on people double her age.
That was Miku (rhythm guitar) and Saiki (lead singer) harmonizing towards the end. Miku (who started the band) was their original lead, but she recruited Saiki to expand the kind of songs they could do. Love how Saiki can go from cocktail lounge back to rocker in a moment. As some other commenters have mentioned, you're good to go on 'Secret Maiko Lips' now: ruclips.net/video/NNHGABwme50/видео.html
Its great to see reactors pick up on how good and technical Akane (Drummer) actually is, most reactors tend to be mesmerised by Kanami (the Tsunami) Lead guitar and MISA the bassist, don't get me wrong i'm a huge fan of all the ladies
You guys haven't got a good taste of Misa the bass player yet. She is bad ass too and there are some songs that really highlight her talent like Dice. These ladies also kill it live and there are some good live videos on RUclips like Moratorium you should check out.
I have to agree. A lot of people gravitate to Akane, the drummer, but for me it's MISA and her bass. Of course the rest of the band is awesome, but for some reason I'm a MISA fan.
What I like in this version is Akane's double peds drumming, but still I love "Secret Maiko Lips" more. BAND-MAIKO / secret MAIKO lips ruclips.net/video/NNHGABwme50/видео.html Copy paste info: "Tōno is a big fan of Carlos Santana, has played classical piano since she was a child, and began playing guitar when she joined her high school band club. Hirose is a fan of Deep Purple and Maximum the Hormone, particularly the latter's female drummer Nao Kawakita, and also plays trombone and piano. Misa likes The Smashing Pumpkins and Jimi Hendrix; she started playing piano at around 3 or 4 years of age, and also plays trumpet, alto horn, and guitar." Wanna hear a heavy Live with base, please do BAND-MAID - Moratorium Live ruclips.net/video/N7BQCkUb4SI/видео.html
Do the live stuff. You're right, this isn't as heavy but there are other things they do that really get rocking. The more you listen to them I believe you'll come to realize how good they really are. If you want heavy listen to DOMINATION. It should satisfy you on a heavier level. I'll be waiting.
At the end of your video you guys in unison said, “Band Maid can PLAY!” So, as a homage to Miku the rhythm guitarist/lyricist, It’s MAGIC SPELL TIME! You both chanted that Band Maid can play so here is their song Play, live! ruclips.net/video/YeiIju_t1D8/видео.html And here is another all time fave, Moratorium ruclips.net/video/N7BQCkUb4SI/видео.html Do them both, as they have a sort of kinship in their spirit and you’ll be blown out of your chairs!💪🏻🤘🏻
The guitarist, Kanami is a huge fans of Carlos Santana, Steve Vai, she learn about their technic in Music School. The Drummer (Akane), The Bassist (Misa) and The Guiterist (Kanami) learn about music in music school.
Good call. Misa's (bassist) fave band is Smashing Pumpkins. I'm Canuck and played bass for 30 years. I say she's every bit as good a bassist as Geddy Lee.
You should review "Secret Maiko Lips by Band-Maiko" - this is a more interesting and creative "April Fools" video that the ladies of Band-Maid released on April 1st 2018........really great version......
Smashing Pumpkins? Interesting...you might be right on that. Misa, the dope ass bass player, was saying in the interview that she was influenced by Smashing Pumpkins (musically speaking, not sure about the play style, though). Band Maid sounds even better live. Better check the following live performances. You guys would be surprised even more: Moratorium ruclips.net/video/N7BQCkUb4SI/видео.html Puzzle ruclips.net/video/3OuO0pgCBUo/видео.html Both of these are posted by RyaN. RyaN, thank you for posting them, and please let us share your videos.
I like the sound of the "bandmade" bass (laugh) Have you reacted to "MAN WITH A MISSION"? If not yet^ ^ 【MAN WITH A MISSION Live Fly again @ Air jam2016】
Band-Maid is a band I have to put away because once I start listening I won't stop and the only thing stopping me is sleep deprivation. Since I am writing this I think I will apend hours listening. This song alone will clock in a few of these hours.
If you listen to the live version, you should be able to hear how busy the lead guitarist Kanami actually was in the song. try this live version. too bad the bass isn't turned up as high as other live videos. ruclips.net/video/SPgKG8MCDjA/видео.html If you want to hear more about the bass player Misa, you should watch their live performances. A lot of people mentioned Dice, it's great song, I am learning it on my guitar right now but musically Secret my lips, puzzle or their new B side single track Scream is more complex and reflect more on how talented they are.
You need to listen to all of the album, Just Bring It. Secret My Lips is the last track (13th) on what I think is the best progressive hard rock album since Appetite for Destruction. Band-Maid sound like all things rock, but ultimately they sound like themselves.
Please Check out garett bolden's performances in a competition in the philippines. His covers of ONE LAST CRY and LAY ME DOWN. YOU'LL LOVE HIM I PROMISE. THANKS
Please react to mamamoo's live performances especially when they were on Immortal Songs 2. The performances for Delilah, Backwoods, Passion Flower, and more are all really really good. Their vocals are amazing!
You realise we can't hear what you're saying while the music is playing, right? This is the 3rd video in a row of yours I've seen where you talk to eachother without pausing the video. Hopefully you've come to understand how stupid that is and have rectified it on newer videos.
I love the harmonies at the end! Everything in this band is on point, they have so much talent.

Akane the drummer is just amazing. Her super-powers come from her tiny hat.
This comment is severely underrated 🙂
The drummer is great. Also, the bass guitar is great too.
You suggestions for Band-Maid songs? All of them. Trust me.
Haha.. i bet.
I've been on the train since 2015 and own all their albums. As they said before me, this is a small taste of Kanami and Misa. This, imho is a drum heavy song and it shows how good Akane is. Dice for Bass and Domination or Choose me for guitar.
@@inquisition6 right on. They havent made a bad song yet, except maybe for Thrill...
I liked Thrill for what it was, like a proof of concept video. They've only improved, however. Only "misstep" would be the video for Start Over, and that's because we're used to seeing them in their MVs and not actors.
Still a very well written, constructed and played song, even if its not to everyone's taste
If you get a chance to see them live, don't miss it. They're a really strong live band. And, they don't play around. They just hit you with song after song. I saw them in Nagoya, and they did 26 songs in two hours, if I remember correctly.
i love how so many of their songs have breaks in them, it makes them so good that they can break and rock right back into it, so much technical skill

Yap, Play live is one of "MUST REACT" videos for sure.
Thanks MPK for another great nuclear reaction video. Band-Maid is Crazy Tasty. My favorite songs of there's are "Dice","Play","Thrill"and"Moratorium" .Dice and Thrill are studio.Hsnks again and enjoy the ride!😎
Hope you guys to react more Band-Maid!!!! They are really awesome!!!
when discovers this band real existence was my favorite... then non fiction days was my best... then yolo... now secret my lips.... lol a lot of broken schemes
You guys should watch their live ones. It's amazing. Studio sound but live. Give it a try guys. You'll love it.
The bass player is a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan so you may be on to something.
I can kinda see the comparison to something like Bullet With Butterfly Wings.
Yeah, there were some vids of them practising songs. Like Akane had some drum cover (can't remember which band or song it was) and Misa covering Smashing.
Since you liked BAND MAID and Wagakki Band, do check out their other version called BAND MAIKO - Secret MAIKO Lips.
yes please check out Secret MAIKO Lips version, may be an April's Fools music video, still one of my favorite songs!
Misa(the bassist) has said in more than a few occasions, during interviews, that she is a fan of Smashing Pumpkins.
"Moratorium" - freaking bass canonade assault, and "Take me higher" - awesome bass vs. guitar battle. And then if you like post hardcore, in the Japanese version with a mandatory pinch of pop, check out Ling Tosite Sigure - "Chocolate Passion".
This song is also one of my favourites from them! But my favourite would have to be ‘choose me’, because of two guitar solos!
Man...that drummer! Unbelievable!
😄👍👍👍👍
Their music is really my taste glad i found them, really
Band-Maid is awesome (personal recommendation is Puzzle Live) and any of their other songs mentioned here are worth looking at.

Please react to more songs from this band, their most recent songs are even better than what you've heard so far

I highly recommend you Band Maid and the song call 👉 take me higher 👈 live vision, they were extremely good performance! kindly have look and enjoy
Its great to see reactors pick up on how good and technical Akane (Drummer) actually is, most reactors tend to be mesmerised by Kanami (the Tsunami) Lead guitar and MISA the bassist, don't get me wrong i'm a huge fan of all the ladies
Drummer is awesome !!!
Her drum parts are incredible. And even on the slower songs like Daydreaming they are incredibly technical and interesting
She's a drummer's drummer.
Iv'e been led to believe the Drummer from Maximum the Hormone is a friend and the Drummer she most looks up too
Now you have to check out the April Fool's version of this song "Secret Maiko Lips". Band Maid went all out to give us an amazing April Fool's video.
You guys haven't got a good taste of Misa the bass player yet. She is bad ass too and there are some songs that really highlight her talent like Dice. These ladies also kill it live and there are some good live videos on RUclips like Moratorium you should check out.
You know it! She absolutely tears it up!

Mind blowing music from these girls, OMG.
Good call. Misa's (bassist) fave band is Smashing Pumpkins. I'm Canuck and played bass for 30 years. I say she's every bit as good a bassist as Geddy Lee.
I really expected a bigger reaction lol. I was out my chair first time I heard this song!. They WHOLE band just K I L L I N G it on this one!
You guys really need to learn their names, they deserve that.

Funny you’d mention smashing pumpkins, that’s MISA’s favourite band, so there may well be some elements pulled from there
Top-notch talent at each instrument.
U must react band maid - onset live
If you listen to the live version, you should be able to hear how busy the lead guitarist Kanami actually was in the song.
