Well done video, no ahh’s & umh’s, no narcissism, just the subject matter & no RUclips fluff. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge! I’m subscribing so can do more videos.
Thanks, I might do this sometime when I decide to change the valves! I really don't like all that stuff hidden behind walls, I don't care if the pipes are exposed because it would be much easier for repairs.😊 Easy thing for you is you can go out into that water shutoff outside, but here we have to call the city or we will be fined if we touch that shutoff water box outside!!!!😏😒😄
If you are lucky, you can just replace the valves in the existing box. Turned out the old screw valves had the same base threads as the ball valves. I did that to mine and it worked perfectly.
Is there no need to attach the box to one of the studs? I am getting ready to do this exact replacement (except mine is the push to connect valves) and it didn't even occur to me that I need to do the box flip like you did, as my drain is in the middle. So glad I watched this first! Thanks for a clear, easy to follow instruction!
Yes, you definitely want to attach it to either an existing stud or you can add what’s called a (sister stud) which is just simply attaching some 2x4 blocks to existing stud to reach desired location. Glad you found this useful!
I would have replace the cutout with a door. We never recommend shark bites without a quick access point. Also you should have leveled the frame. The original cut was not done correctly. But hey, great video
@@SheilaSpencer1 Hi and thanks for the info. Times have changed. When I worked for a city, we were the only ones that could get a '" Buffalo Box " key to shut off water on the outside of a home. Things have changed I see. Homes in my area have a water shutoff valve in the house so there is no need to shut off outside.
I just had to this exact thing. the entire corner. you need new sheet rock. he had to go in from the bathroom from the pipe side. he started on the outside wall and did both.
But how is it the same height? He cut the drain line from the old box, the new box would have sit lower due to a shorter drain line. How is it the same height as the original? There wasn't a gap.
The replacement box that I got already has the sharkbite couplers on the valves and I can’t get them off to switch sides (I also have the single center drain.) very frustrating.
I envy guys like you who know what they’re doing. Me? I just don’t have any confidence in myself. Funny though…I play 7 different musical instruments. Give me an instrument and I will play it within a week. Go figure…

Nice bro, needed this one!! Been thru 5-6 videos and this was the most helpful 💯
Use a depth gauge for the push in fittings, makes it much easier. Thanks for sharing.
You were very helpful. Thank you and may God bless you!!!!
Thanks man I’m going to the store later to get the tools and give this a try. You rock for posting
Your video really helped me out today. Thank you a lot.

Excellent content! Thanks for keeping it simple and not adding a whole bunch of nonsense. I'm now subscribed.
Nice job. Made it look easy
Thank you for sharing the knowledge brother…
Damn bro made that look easy 😮 gotta prolly do this for a mobile home
Nice job. Thanks for posting.
What about retro fitting the left and right braces to each left and right braces?
This video is very helpful 💪🏼

You should. I think in this example, he’s relying on the glued drain pipe for support. I could be wrong, the video is edited.
You are awesome

Are the sharkbite fittings still holding?
Better than that polybutylene lol. If my house had polybutylene a shark bite fitting would be the last thing I would worry about lol.
Don't some houses have a main shut off that's a water valve instead of the curb key? Or is the curb key always the preferred method?
My home has a water shutoff in the house. No need to shut off by the curb.
I don't even have a curb key, just 2 main shut-offs in the house: one for hot and one cold.
The only ones who have a curb key is the city.
@@kerryerber4281 they are widely available at Home Depot and Lowe's. Got mine for $15.

My only concern is securing the box. I know you glued the box to the drain line, but the box is usually secured to the studs.
How do i replace the entire wall behind the washer pipes?

They make Poly to Pex Couplings you can crimp to join both lines, you shouldn't never put Sharkbites in the wall... Apprentice Mistake
thank you!

How much does this service go for?
Does anyone know what size cap goes on the fitting to cap it off? Where the plastic horse would connect
1/2”
Damn are you single??!!! Lol 😊
ThNk you
Drain hole needs to be opned to max for air flow
Push to connect fittings are not a smart thing to use when a cinch clamp tool is 30 buks and a much better connection .
It’s on poly crimping poly is asking for trouble just throw a sharkbite and run

Sharkbites are crap and should never be behind a wall. A professional wouldn’t use them at all.
